Q: Does it require water to make the air cold
submitted by patty - 10 months ago
A: no, it does not require water. the technology in the fan sucks in hot air and makes it cold air. adding water and ice makes it colder and adds the misting function. but works perfectly fine without the water and/or ice! ^_^
submitted byBritt - 9 months agoA: Yes, about a 1/2 gallon of water, I've been using distilled. It says it last 10hrs, but I think that's only in the lowest setting.
submitted byAlana - 9 months agoA: Yes, otherwise it works like just a regular fan.
submitted byDan10 - 9 months agoA: Yes, this unit requires water.

Q: Can you use frozen ice packs in the water for this fan?
submitted by Target1 - 1 year ago
A: Yes, it comes with one ice pack. I've also been adding ice cubes, along with the ice pack.
submitted byAlana - 9 months agoA: Use the one that comes with the machine or purchase others like it.
submitted byRaindancer19 - 1 year agoA: Yes you can or ice cubes!

Summary of reviews
The product has received a significant amount of negative feedback from guests, primarily due to its inability to effectively cool a room and various operational issues. Many guests noted that it functions more like a fan than an air conditioner, with complaints about noise, water leakage, and the need for constant refilling. However, a few guests appreciated its cooling mist feature when used correctly, suggesting it may work better in specific conditions.

Worked ok but not enough for the price for the first two weeks after that it stoped putting out the little mist that's supposed to help you stay cool and started leaking. Waste of money just buy a normal fan worth your money

My child purchased this fan with his own money which turned out to be a complete waste of money. We tried following the advised steps to return this item back to the company but was basically told there was absolutely nothing they could do about this item due to no longer selling this fan. Highly disappointing!

Stopped working after 2 months. Engine gave out. Not worth the hassle of trying to get it repaired by the manufacturer and the extra $17 I spent on Allstste insurance was useless as they won't do anything before the manufacturers warranty runs out.

This fan is terrible! First of all, there is absolutely nothing quiet about it! Even in the lowest setting, I have to turn my TV up just to hear something other than the fan and the hissing sound of the water. The task takes about a 1/2 gallon of water, and even on the lowest setting, it is out of water by morning 11p-6am (approx). The water coming out of it sounds like a possum or snake hiss... not soothing at all!!! The engineering is terrible, and there isn't a way to actually clean the tank, so in time, there will be mold. Oh, and there isn't a remote. There are just so many issues with this thing. I can't wait to take it back. But, I will say this... if you fill the tank and add ice, the air coming out of it is chilly, but not for long. My bedroom cooled down 2 degrees.

Waste of time money and effort! Do not buy! You have to wait for the tiny ice pack to freeze, you only get one, and the air is only half as cold as the water you put into it! Our ac went out and thought this would save the day. It made our day infinitely worse!
Very expensive fan.

Definitely not worth the price. Not an air conditioner at all just a fan and you have to fill it with ice water. Doesn’t cool a room, have to sit right in front of it to feel anything.
It's just a Fan!

This is just a glorified fan. It is not a portable air conditioner. The air that comes out is colder than a fan but it sprays a mist that makes you and everything it hits to be damp and uncomfortable. The air is only cold if you add the water and use the mist so prepare to get wet if you use it. Also, it doesn't cool a room like it says it will, it only cools you if you sit near it. I won't be keeping this item.

Bad!! It says wash filter once a week but now it’s falling apart! It makes the gross…like chemicals, my chest starts getting tight! I returned one and exchanged for another thinking it was defective but nope! Same thing again! I will say it does give a slight cool air but u haven’t be right up on it! It’s also a pain to empty and fill up with water. Too expensive for such a cheap cooling fan. spend a little more and maybe get a better product.

Pleasantly surprised!!!! I read the reviews on this and was very hesitate but I was willing to give it a try. It blows out a descent amount of cool air and definitely helps. However the price is a little bit much for what it is but I do not regret this purchase. Hope this helps anyone who is interested.

Absolutely love this fan. With the cold water, it really does put out cold air and the. When the water runs out the fan still stays on so that’s convenient. It’s been really great to use in my room when not using the central AC to save money and still stay cool.

CONS: 1. No easy way to empty the water tank. The machine does not drain it all the way. If you want to avoid mold you'll need to pick up the entire fan, tilt it upside down to empty it, or else use a whole bunch of paper towels. 2. Even with the ice pack, you have to sit VERY CLOSE to it to feel the cool mist. Any further then it's really just another tower fan. 3. Does not actually lower the temperature of the room. 4. If the tank is not re-inserted correctly, the return water tube could leak a lot of water onto the floor (happened twice to me). PRO: 1. It has a swivel and a timer, I guess.

I agree with all the 1 star reviews. Did not provide any extra cooling. Fan doesn’t have much wind power. I could justify the price if it worked but it does not. Packing it up now to return.
