A: Another site shows the manufacturer's info for the Thermoscan 5 (saying it's a IRT6500US model), shows only 1 reading memory, not the 9 as mentioned above. Which is correct?

Also, the the IRT6500US has a 9 reading memory and the IRT6020US has a last reading memory. The IRT6500US comes with a protective case/cradle and the IRT6020US has a protective cap. This is a waste of money. It is completely inaccurate. I bought it because I hated putting my toddler through a rectal check. I used it on my husband who wasn’t feeling well and it gave a temp over 105. At the ER they told him it was only 98.

We feel like it’s accurate but the display doesn’t light up. When you’ve got a sleeping kiddo, you don’t really want to have to turn your phone’s flashlight on to check the temperature.

I was honestly on the fence when I ordered this. I was nervous I was going to regret buying it after reading the reviews saying it’s not accurate. I just got it today, because my kiddo is sick. I’ve only tested it on myself, and I tried it probably 10 times, the readings were all very similar! Maybe some don’t work, but thankfully mine seems to work properly. Don’t let the bad reviews scare you away if you’re looking for an accurate thermometer. Plus this one takes a super fast reading, which is helpful with little ones! I would recommend this.

I received it has a baby shower gift and I put it on my registry based on researching other ear thermometer reviews. First of all it does not come on easily, second, it does not read the temp accurately. One second it is 101.4 from the left ear and 99.7 on the right. It has been consistently inconsistent.

This is wildly inaccurate. I reads two degrees higher and within a minute can read different every time by multiple degrees. Was wondering why I felt fine but it showed a fever. Wish I had checked the other one star reviews before buying.

I’ve been using this for almost 5 years and I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s inaccurate. I know that the ear is less accurate than oral, but there shouldn’t be a huge difference. My son’s temp was 102.6 when I took it before the doctor, which is a 10 minute drive with traffic. At the doctor (done orally) it was reading 100.1. There has been plenty of times where it’s been lower at the dr than at home. I will not purchase again.

I couldn't agree more with the other review by Chelle W. The new design is awful. It's so hard to get open and it's very awkward. The buttons are ok, but still not as good as your original design. Please go back to your original style thermometer. A light would've been helpful as well. I am surprised you would take that feature away. It doesn't make sense.

The box was open upon pick up at the store. When I got it out of the box it was scratched, missing the batteries, ear covers and was given to me in my order. Target your quality and service is very much going backwards and I am loosing interest in your service.

This is a good product but I am writing the review I wish I had read before choosing. Giving 4 stars because it's easy to use and has been able to tell us when baby does or does not have a fever. Unfortunately as my infant got older, he started to hate having this put in his ear. At 13 months, he absolutely will not sit still to take his temp, and we have to hold his head while he is hysterically crying. Apparently this is very common, and I had no idea. So at this point I wish I had just gone with a forehead thermometer. Even if those are less accurate, it would be much easier and it's very hard for me to get an accurate read with this one anyway since my kiddo won't stop moving. Hoping once he gets older it will become more useful again!

I was told by our doctor that ear readings are more accurate than fore head ones. Does what it’s suppose to do. This is our second after a couple years because our first seemed to disappear. I saw some mixed reviews but if you’re changing the filter you should be good, never had an issue.
