A: The thermometer has 3 temperature reading modes. Ear, Forehead and Object/Food mode. To by forehead, press the head button. To scan by ear, remove the forehead prove and press the ear button. To get an object/food reading. press ear and forehead simultaneously - the thermometer will display the word Food, press the ear button to scan the object/food. Readings can be displayed in Fahrenheit or Celsius.

Press the Head button for a forehead reading, ear for an ear reading and simultaneously press ear and head to get the object/food reading setting. You can also switch between Fahrenheit and Celsius. A: Hello, when the setting is "forehead" we recommend placing the device directly on the forehead between the eyebrows then taking the measurement for most accurate reading.

A: Hello, and thank you for reaching out. When using a forehead measurement, it is expected to be lower, anywhere from 0.5°F to 1°F lower, as it is an external reading. Furthermore, forehead temperature reduces with age, the older an individual, the lower the forehead temperature is expected to be. Therefore if it is recommended to use these devices as a strong indicator of current temperature, learn your own normal reading so you can identify if a result is outside of your normal temperature.

A: Hello Michelle. Thank you for taking the time to reach out! The thermometer has three different reading features. The third feature that the thermometer can read is food and object temperatures. To read these temperatures, press down on the HEAD and EAR buttons together. Hold the thermometer 1-2 inches away from food or object. Then press and release the EAR button to scan. A: Hello Knittingneedle1948, The "Lo" indicator is noting that the temperate read does not qualify as a bodily temperature. A: Hi Andrew, these devices should be cleaned using a alcohol wipe or swab. this device is not waterproof so it is not recommended to expose this device to water while cleaning. Once you have cleaned your device we recommend waiting until any remaining alcohol has evaporated.

I specifically bought this for the ease of taking a temp on my 1yo and the language on the packaging was promising which specifically said "doctor recommended", but when I was using it to determine if my son had a fever, the thermometer said his temp was 98.6. I took it rectally, and it was 103.7... The fact that this was so inaccurate was dangerous. If his fever was any higher, it could have warranted a hospital visit. DON'T BUY IT!

Completely inaccurate; normal temp reads around 96 usually, and despite my daughter having a fever (w an under tongue thermometer), the one still showed about 98. Putting inside the ear seems a tiny bit more accurate but the forehead is way off.

The readings are never accurate. My infant had a 103 fever and yet this thermometer read her temperature as 96.5 for the forehead and 94.3 for the ear. It has been over a month and still comparing it to other thermometer and the readings are ALWAYS off.

It’s going in the trash. I’ve had it awhile but rarely use it because my toddler doesn’t get sick frequently. He currently has Covid and feels very warm. Unfortunately I have no idea what his temperature actually is because this is so inconsistent. I am not happy

I do not recommend this item. I was using this item tracking to my toddlers temperature. All day, from the time I picked it up to the last time I used it. I was getting g a safe reading from 98.2-98.8. That was false, my toddler was fevering. Her real temperature was 105.3 (rectal), right before this the thermometer showed 98.8. She had a fibril seizure. Don’t buy it. The emotional and mental damage was horrible. And my poor child was suffering and I let it happen by using this item.

I had the thermometer in the room I was taking readings in for more than 30 mins ( read the mfg recommendations) did everything correctly, and every reading was different. Sometimes the readings would differ by more than 1 degree. I was using it on my 1 month old who caught a cold from his big sister, never again! Unnecessary panic for parents. Save yourself the anxiety , buy the Vicks thermometer, and only rely on rectal temp for infants
