Q: Can this be for basal body temperature
A: The Homedics No Contact Infrared Digital Thermometer is designed to measure body, food, liquid, and room temperatures without direct contact. It provides readings in approximately two seconds and can store up to 50 results. While it is capable of measuring body temperature, non-contact infrared thermometers may not offer the precision required for tracking basal body temperature (BBT), which is typically measured with high accuracy to detect slight temperature changes. BBT is best monitored using a basal thermometer that measures temperature to two decimal places and is used immediately upon waking, before any activity.

Q: can I use this on my pet?
A: The Homedics No Contact Infrared Digital Thermometer is designed primarily for use on humans, food, liquids, and room temperature. While it might provide a general surface temperature reading for your pet, it is not specifically calibrated for animals and may not give an accurate reflection of their internal body temperature.

Q: How far away do I take the temp?
A: For the Homedics No Contact Infrared Digital Thermometer, the recommended distance for taking a temperature reading is typically 0.5 to 2 inches (1 to 5 cm) from the target surface. Be sure to aim directly at the measurement area (such as the forehead for body temperature) for the most accurate results.

Q: I CHANGED MY BATTERIES AND ALL IT DOES IS KEEP BEEPING. IT DOES NOT LIGHT UP OR DO ANYTHING ELSE EXCEPT BEEP.
A: From what you have described, it sounds like the low battery indicator is active. If changing the batteries did not solve your problem, then the product should be exchanged.
