Q: The brew button flashes "H20" when I want to warm a partial pot of coffee

A: Error Code: H20: Hold down the brew button for more than 5 seconds to turn on just the warming plate. The plate will stay on for 1 hour. Following is more information regarding the H20 error code: • The coffeemaker did not detect water. Check the top tank to make sure coffeemaker is filled with water. • A minimum of 4 cups (20 oz) is needed to begin brewing. • To reset, simultaneously press and hold the clock and auto/start buttons for 5 sec. Q: Can the filter basket be replaced with the stainless steel Bun filter basket?

A: BUNN no longer manufactures a stainless steel filter for Home models, but if you have an old Home filter basket, it should work. Commercial stainless filter baskets will not work as they are too large to fit a BUNN Home model.

A: The Heat 'N Brew is quiet. Note the measurements as it is taller than some other home brewers. It is programmable, which is a nice feature so that your coffee is ready when you are!

Q: Water in the reservoir drips onto the coffee grinds when it is programmed to go on in the morning. It drips all night and almost half of the water is in the carafe with cold coffee before it's brew

A: There may be some lime/mineral build up or foreign material lodged under the bi-metal disk of your machine preventing it from closing all the way. Please perform the deep cleaning. Instructions are in the manual, on our website at www.bunn.com, and in the following video link https://retail.bunn.com/support/products/heat-n-brew. You will find this video under Heat and Brew, Troubleshooting, Water Drips. It may take a few cleanings to correct this issue. It is our experience that the problem you are having is usually caused by minerals under the disk or there may be a piece of coffee ground holding the bi-metal disk open. You can also follow the written instructions below. How to perform 100% vinegar cleaning - Use a carafe full of 5-cups vinegar and 5-cups water or 10-cups full-strength white vinegar for a deeper clean. Pour into the machine, press the brew button and heat for about 4 minutes, then press the brew button again to stop it. Let soak for 30 minutes. Then press the brew button again to restart and let the cycle finish. You will need to cycle through about another 5 to 6 carafes full of water to flush out the machine. You might also try heating a quart or 4 cups of vinegar before you put it into the top of the machine. You will want to heat the vinegar so that is barely forming heat bubbles. Remove the brew basket and the sprayhead above the brew basket. Place a filter in the brew basket and replace the brew basket. Carefully pour in your heated vinegar. If it runs through, your filter should catch anything that may be at the top of your machine, and you can then use the vinegar again to repeat the process if need be. You might continue to do this until the machine holds water in the top. This will help to flush any minerals out or any other particles that maybe holding the bi-metal disk open at the top of the pour in tray. If the machine holds the vinegar without dripping through, let the vinegar sit in the top of the machine for about 30 minutes, then press the brew button and let the machine heat the vinegar again and brew it through. You will then need to flush the machine with 5 to 6 carafes full of water. If you need further assistance, do not hesitate to contact our customer service department. A: The plastic used in BUNN home models is BPA and BPS free. Very little water, if any, touches plastic internally.

A: Cleaning instructions for the Heat 'N Brew can be found on page 5 of the product manual that can be viewed at https://resource.bunn.com/assets/web/pdfs/52774.0001C.pdf With regard to the filter, BUNN recommends paper filters.

A: The Heat 'N Brew has an Auto-warmer plate that turns on during brewing and off after 2 hours. It does not come with a permanent filter. Water temperature should be between 175 and 185 immediately after brewing into the carafe. Q: we have had ours for a while now. Never had any trouble with it until this weekend. Three lights except the auto start button on the left are flashing. To the left of the digital clock it says Clean. How do we fix it?

I have always purchased Bunn coffee makers so this was dif n I ordered it. Only draw back is the lid on carafe, while serving last of hot steam comes thru by handle. Its painful when U pour last drop so U really need to fix this lid. Dont care for that spout extention either. It is pricey guess U end up paying not only for the maker but the name, sad...

Easy to load and program. Makes a perfect cup of coffee. No bitterness. This is my third purchase of an SCA-Certified coffee maker, and the Bunn is the best brand yet.
Takes a little longer to brew than some coffee makers, but can be pre-programmed to start, and the wait is well worth the final product.

The Bunn Heat n Brew is different than traditional Bunn brewers, as it does not hold water in the reservoir for that famous 3 minute brew time. Instead, water is added, heated in the reservoir, then released over the coffee grounds. What I like about the Heat n Brew over traditional Bunn brewers is the delay brew option and auto off feature, which the others do not have. Brew size/strength is adjusted by the amount of grounds and water used, just as the traditional models. However, unlike the others, the Heat n Brew's water reservoir is NOT all stainless steel; it is plastic with a stainless steel lined bottom. Personally, I am trying to avoid "heated" plastic as much as possible which is why I wanted a Bunn to begin with, so I found this to be a huge disappointment. Let the research begin ...
A LOT of reseach.
What I learned: Other manufacturer models "within my price range", although BPA free, use mixed plastics in their machines, none (within my budget anyway) have stainless steel water reservoirs other than Bunn... with the exception of the Heat n Brew model (plastic). Bunn reps confirmed it is manufactured using #5 Plastic [polypropylene], which from my understanding and according to everything I could find regarding the subject, is less likely to leach chemicals when heated due to its high heat resistance. This ultimately was the deciding factor in my choice of the Heat n Brew over other plastic brewers.
How does the coffee taste? That is a matter of personal preference but for me, it brews a clean/pure tasting coffee. Prior to use, I ran several pots of white vinegar through and then cycles of plain filtered water as a rinse. Brew time will vary for everyone, as beginning water temps affect how long it takes to heat the water. Total brew time for me is about 9 to 11 minutes, with the last 3 minutes being the actual coffee brew. I have not experienced any chemical plastic taste. As mentioned before, I use filtered water, so no chlorine taste either. I also use Bunn paper filters as recommended, no messy overflow of grounds since they are taller than other flat bottomed basket filters.
This machine brews coffee in a reasonable amount of time, is quiet, unique (taller than it is wide), pleasing to the eye, and takes up relatively little real estate in a small space. ... Is it perfect? ... To each their own on what the definition of that is, but this model is almost there. It is lacking what Bunn is known for, a stainless steel water reservoir, hence the 4 star rating. A stainless carafe, alleviating the need for the warmer, would be amazing and certainly should be an option at the price point. Hopefully Bunn is paying attention, as the Heat n Brew could easily be so much more with a few upgrades. With all that being said, I recommend the Heat n Brew to anyone who is looking for a simple, easy to use, programmable coffee maker and enjoys a good cup of coffee.

Love my new coffeemaker. Easy to set up and use. Like the top of coffee pot, no spills when pouring my coffee. I normally use 5 scoops for 8 cups of coffee, but, now only have to use 4 scoops and my coffee is perfect. Favorite part is how hot my coffee is. It does take a while to brew, but, I set the timer so it's done when I get up. The one thing I'm not thrilled about is that the Bunn filters are very expensive. Have been using generic ones and so far so good. Hopefully it last a long time!

I was disappointed in this coffee maker. It was very wobbly which made it seem very cheap. Its mostly plastic, which I was expecting and I was considering putting something under it to stop the wobble but the coffee just wasn't very good. Not sure what the problem was, we prepared it just like always. The glass carafe is awesome though. No spills! I returned it.

You just can't beat a Bunn. I needed a new coffee maker, and so after reading countless reviews on many different makers and brands, I settled on this Heat N Brew. I wanted to write a review since there were a lot of conflicting reviews I read about this particular maker and I wanted to share my take and address some of the negative points made by others: - It takes about 10 minutes from the time I hit BREW to ready coffee. It actually doesn't take the full 10, but the timer runs for about that long and you get the occasional drip during that time if you try to sneak a cup :) - I did notice a plastic smell when I first set up the maker out of the box, so I let it air out with the top cover open for about half a day. But even with very first pot I brewed it smelled just like good coffee should, and I haven't noticed the plastic smell again. - It does come with a stack of taller Bunn filters, but I rarely make more than 6 cups at a time so the standard size filters work just fine with no grounds escaping (like I'd imagine happens with the velocity brewers Bunn makes) - Some reviewers claimed they needed more grounds to achieve the same taste using this maker, but I found the opposite to be true for me. I actually use fewer grounds and the coffee comes out with a punch of flavor. Super hot too! Which is important for me as a mom of 3 littles so my cup of coffee often gets interrupted and left all over the house while I tend to kids. Having it piping hot to begin with means fewer warm ups haha! This was my birthday present to myself and even though it is a bit pricey, it was entirely worth the splurge! It looks sleek and modern on my counter, pumps out delicious hot coffee, and has nice features like programming a brew for the next morning so you wake up to a hot cup for you can effectively mom. LOVE!

I have been using this coffee maker everyday for about two weeks, and it has been terrific. A full pot of coffee may take between 6-9 minutes to brew because the water heats to a particular temperature before the brewing begins. While this might slow down your morning routine a little, it's a small price to pay for the amazing coffee that this machine produces. If you search this coffee maker on the web, you will find several reviews and videos where coffee aficionados give this machine high praise. The design of the machine is very basic, and it comes with a 3-year warranty -- I have every reason to believe this machine will make delicious coffee for years to come.

I've had this BUNN for about two weeks now -- simply put, it's the most straightforward way to make a good cup of coffee. It may not have the perfect notes a french press can create, but it's worth the trade-off when factoring in the convenience. Make sure you grind your own beans, or this investment won't be worth it for you. Super easy to clean, and looking forward to having it in my kitchen for a long time.

Love this coffee maker. The coffee tastes better than any of our previous coffee makers. Very smooth...not bitter....a nice hot cup of coffee. It uses a different brewing technology than other drip coffee makers. It heats ALL the water to 200 degrees and then showers it over the coffee rather than the heat and spit method of other coffee makers. I think this is what makes the difference in taste. It is nice to look at as well.

I bought this coffee maker after reading a number of positive professional reviews. After using it for a week I returned it for a refund. Not that it made bad coffee but it certainly wasn't anything special. I was disappointed that the minimum amount of coffee that you could make was four cups. Sometimes I only want to make 2 or 3 cups. It also seemed to require more ground coffee to make an equivalent amount of brewed coffee to my old coffee maker. The machine itself was primarily made out of plastic, which I also didn't care for.
