I'm a professional gardener, this is the only inhome premium potting soil I use. Organic, fertilizing and holds onto moisture.
Full of bugs.

I used this product, now my home is full of nats. Burpee tells me to let the soil dry out. But that will kill my seedlings. I will never buy this product again.
Mildewed?

I bought this a couple of days ago at another retailer. It went right from the retailer to the car. When I opened the bag I noticed a smell like mildew. I’ve never used coconut before, so I didn’t know what to expect. Also, the potting soil was damp. I didn’t even need to add water. When I started to pot up seedlings I started coughing. And last night I had a sore throat and my head was so congested. Today, it is the same. No COVID, as I haven’t been anywhere and do store curbside pickup. I usually make my own potting soil, but thought this was reasonably priced and would save me some work. I just hope it hasn’t ruined my health! I had purchased 3 bags of this product and plan to take the other two back.
Ugh.

When I opened the bag, I saw many white (lack of sunlight) plants from seeds that had germinated in the bag. I understand the product is organic, but why wouldn’t they heat it enough to kill seeds before selling it? Also, pieces of plastic bag were in the mix. I will not purchase this product again, nor would I recommend it.
This stuff is magical!

I've started tomato, cantaloupe, and cucumber seeds in Burpee Natural Organic Premium Growing Mix and my plants are so happy. The mix retains moisture so I don't have to water very often, and my plants thrive. They've transplanted to my garden quite successfully.
Soil works, pricey.

Soil works, it's on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for in this instance.

I'm an avid container gardener, and Burpee's potting mix is my go-to. Its rich, moist, and--unlike many other organic brands--doesn't come with a bunch of annoying little flies (so you can feel safe using it for indoor plants too). My herbs and flowers both thrive in it.
works really well for rooting cuttings

This is only 8 quarts of soil - barely enough for 1 medium-sized pot. Won't ever buy again.
