A: Covixyl works by creating a physical barrier in the nasopharynx. Covixyl® is designed to be complementary to vaccines and other mitigation efforts suggested by health officials. We do not suggest relying solely on Covixyl® for protection from airborne respiratory viruses. Covixyl will not protect against viruses entering the body through the mouth. Anything you breathe into your mouth would go to your oropharynx, which is located below the nasopharynx.

Q: While I understand it's not a drug, was there any long term testing done to know if the active ingredient is harmful after long term use? You hear so much these days about everyday things being unsafe

A: Ethyl Lauroyl Arginine Hydrochloride (ELAH) is the active ingredient in Covixyl. It has been used for decades as a food preservative and in mouthwashes to prevent gingivitis. This stuff is so helpful! I work at a high school, as well as in medical retail, so I am surrounded by sickness seemingly constantly! This has worked really well for me, and it helps my peace of mind. The only downside is that it doesn’t feel great when you spray it in, the discomfort goes away after a minute or two, and that’s still worth it to me. I will be purchasing more when I run out of this one!

I've been using this for 6 months and I would recommend it. I have to go to many doctors appointments and always spray this beforehand as directed. It makes me feel like I have an added protection with my mask & for dentist appointments I feel safer. If you are high risk medically I would definitely recommend this product. It is a spicy nose spray but that doesn't last very long.

My husband and I use this when going in public settings. It does burn when using it but the benefit outweighs the risk. My husband and I traveled by plane and were in close proximity with 3 family members that had covid. When we returned home we were notified they had covid. We tested multiple times and quarantined and did not get covid-Thank God. You are to spray this in your nostril at a certain angle. I wear this along with a mask especially when flying. It's added protection. It does not work if you go swimming after using,you woukd need to reapply.

Please get this item. I am 5 bottles in and have not gotten sick since Feb 2023-Jan 2024 (unlike my friends). This offers an extra layer of defense precisely where the virus enters the body. You can spray up to 6 times per day. Covixyl has no side effects or adverse interactions.
