Q: do i have to cook for hours or can i cook in 30mins or so in this
A: It will take at least 10-15 minutes to get up to the desired temperature setting because it has to heat up the ceramic vessel. Then the cooking will begin at that point…it will take at least an hour to cook something from room temperature…these are meant for longer cooks or keeping things warm and ready to eat over a period of time…if you need shorter time, you might want to use a microwave.

Q: The crock pot advertises a 2 qt. Capacity. Why does it hold only 6 cups?
A: I'm guessing that since this "pot" holds liquids, it wouldn't be good to fill it to the brim (2 quarts) and have it get hot and boil over. You don't drink coffee from a full to brim cup ...

Q: Does the ceramic insert contain lead which might leach into food over time?
A: How about a simple answer...does the ceramic contain lead or not? The FDA allows amounts of lead is not reassuring your product is safe.
submitted byConnie - 1 year agoA: Hello! We regularly employ rigorous third-party testing to ensure that our Slow Cookers meet or exceed all applicable laws, regulations and industry standards, including those related to lead content. Consumers should feel confident that our Slow Cookers are safe to use. The glaze of our ceramic pots is a silicate made of quartz, feldspar and clay. The glaze is covered over the pot, fired at high temperature to melt the glaze and then cooled down. The glaze liquid is then turned into coating the same as glass film on the surface of the pot. This does not contain PTFE & PFOA. The FDA specifies allowable amounts of lead, cadmium and other substances. All the glazes that we use meet or exceed FDA requirements. If you have any more questions, please reach out to us via https://www.crock-pot.com/support/contact-us or through LiveChat. We’re available Mon.-Fri. 9am -5pm Eastern Time. Thank you! Q: HI, does body of the unit remain fairly cool or does it get too hot to touch? Thanks
A: Hello! Thank you for your question! The exterior of the unit may become warm during use, especially after extended cooking times. However, the stay-cool handles are designed to remain safe to touch for easy handling. We recommend placing the slow cooker on a heat-resistant surface and using caution when touching the body during or after cooking. Let us know if you have any other questions! Have a wonderful day!
