Q: Will you guarantee this carafe will not drip all over the counter?
A: from all the reviews I've read .. it leaks!
submitted byCurious - 2 years agoA: I've had mine for 3 years and am buying a replacement today. I've never had a leak problem
submitted byLpooleSC - 7 months agoA: I've had my Cuisinart for several years and it is now leaking big time. Apprehensive about getting this same model.
submitted by - 4 months agoA: Hi Katarina, the Cuisinart 14-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker's easy-pour carafe is drip free and has a smooth pour.
submitted byProduct Expert - 3 years agoBrand expertA: Yes, within 6-12 months, you'll find this coffeemaker will leak --clear water, not coffee--all over the place. Once it's leaked one time, it'll leak forever after. Very sad.

Q: Does it use cone filters ?
A: the description says it has a permanent mesh filter so you don't need to buy filters and it reduces trash.
submitted bytarale - 3 years agoA: It comes with the mesh filter, but it is very difficult to clean all the grounds out of it. I prefer the paper filters, which you use in place of the mesh.
submitted byJane - 1 year agoA: this coffee maker uses the standard basket-style paper filter.
submitted byConair's Answers Team - 5 years agoBrand expertA: I just use the mesh filter, most of the grounds come out in the trash and I rinse it daily anyway.
submitted byLpooleSC - 7 months agoA: Yes, #4! They sell them at Target too by Market Pantry.

Q: What type of coffee filter does this coffee maker need?
A: Is has a permanent filter, no need to buy any.
submitted byLpooleSC - 7 months agoA: This coffeemaker uses #4 cone filters.
submitted byNorm74 - 7 years agoA: It comes with a gold tone, commercial-style permanent filter. To make cleanup easier, I put a Melitta 8-12 cup brown filter (purchased from Target) on top of the permanent filter and it works very well.

Q: Does the Cuisinart Stainless Carafe fit this model?
A: We have owned both types of Cuisinart makers, ones with glass & ones with stainless carafes. My understanding is that on the units that come with stainless, the warmer plate does not heat the pot. With the glass models, the warmer plate is very hot & keeps the coffee at a nice temperature, which can be adjusted also. I feel that substituting a SS carafe on this unit would would be way too hot to the touch. Stick with the carafe style that comes with the unit.

Q: does the lid only snap on/off? can it not simple be lifted on a hinge by pressing with your thumb? if lacking, seems like a huge design flaw for a $100 machine.
A: Just used this coffee maker for the very first time and was very disappointed to find that the lid on the coffee pot does not flip!!! So every time you want to clean the carafe or use it to fill and pour water into machine you have to snap and unsnap the lid!!! DEAL BREAKER . I don’t want you to have to deal with fitting the lid all the time & I can see how pulling the lid off and on that often will snap the plastic snap part. It’s going back tomorrow! I thought I searched and researched everything but honestly, who would have thought of this flaw!?!?!? Disappointed to say the least!!!
submitted byGrandmother - 6 months agoA: The Cuisinart 14-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker's lid snap on and off to keep the lid secure. It allows for ease of cleaning and maintenance.
