We bought this because for the second time in 6 months, our main fridge is dead. We are waiting for parts, but with a family of 4, need to store food in the house. This will allow us to keep refrigerated essentials cool, and will also provide extra storage for holidays once we have the other one up and running. We chose Danby because we have another "dorm" fridge that we bought nearly 10 years ago that still works great, just too small. I like that this fridge has a light inside. The size is great. I also like the separate freezer. Only thing I wish is that it came with a small ice cube tray.

Roomy enough as a classroom refrigerator for when we need to store veggies/herbs from the garden. Door compartments are useful for a variety of different sized items - wish the soda can dispenser area could be modified to fit other shelves. Freezer can fit 8+ trays of ice at once - great for our science class needs!

Fits perfectly into the available space in the garage. Great for holding extra beer if there are friends coming over. Door drop slot holds cans of beer or pop. Freezer works well for fish we catch during the summer fishing season.

As soon as we got the fridge and turned it on, the bottom fridge section would not cool. The freezer also doesnt de-ice, so my hypothesis would be that ice buildup on the freezer stopped a component that channels air down from the freezer to the fridge.
