I followed the directions exactly and the trays never got hot enough to mold to my teeth very well. I bought a second one just to make sure I didn’t do something wrong, and after following the instructions exactly a second time I realized it’s just a junky low budget material.

Tried to remold it 4-5 times after the first time failed, but it hardly took custom shape and stayed rock hard; led to nerve pain after sleeping with it in for only one night. Maybe it's just me; maybe my teeth are too far from average after grinding damage. Seems to work for others. Regardless, keep in mind - it's very hard plastic, and even after being placed in boiling water as directed, it stayed too hard to mold. I'll be sticking to the old Dentek guard, I guess.

We recommend adding 30 seconds to the heating time to allow the material to soften a bit more before forming the guard. Additionally, it’s important to bite into the guard quickly after heating while the material is soft, but carefully so not to burn your mouth. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have very bad anxiety, and without realizing it, I was clinching my jaw at night, so my dentist recommended that I get a bite guard to help do less damage to my teeth. The Dentemp Ora-Guard was easy to use, soak it in hot water for a bit and then bite down, and once it cooled it fit to my teeth and bite pattern. I normally hate things in my mouth, but this wasn't big, so I actually was able to use this. Now 4 months later at my check up my teeth are doing better and so is my jaw. Who knew something so small would be so helpful.

I tried the fitting process twice but it doesn’t fit over my teeth properly. Only one side even comes close to fitting, the other is a full centimeter off from being over my teeth, and the bar that goes in front hovers way above my bottom front teeth. I’m not sure if my jaw alignment is an issue, it it’s because I have my wisdom teeth or what, but there’s no way I can sleep in this because it floats in my mouth if I’m not actively biting down on it. I’d choke on it. Hoping I can return this.
