Definitely doesn’t work like it’s worth $400. The bottom part falls off constantly. It’s heavy. The profile is so low anything larger than a flat piece of paper you have to tilt it back and lift to be able to vacuum the debris. The suction is fine. But not any better than my previous Shark vacuum. Sad I missed my return window.

Is it heavy? Yes Does it vacuum best ever? Yes!!! My golden just turned 1 and it’s almost sting and dang she is shedding 🙄 place felt so good and there was so much in a canister. Twice as much as my old Bissel picked up. Very happy with this purchase

Ok the only good thing I have to admit is the suction it’s pretty strong compared to other vacuums but besides that it sucks! It’s heavy to push and move around and takes power to drag across. Not worth it glad I got it as a gift and didn’t waste my own money.

Yes, the animal 3 extra sucks, big time. It's the most powerful suck I've ever experienced on a household vacuum. That being said, it's difficult to use, heavy, unwieldy, and not suited for older people with minimal muscle tone. It'd be great for those who still have strength and youth on their side. For us old folks, it's just too hard to work with.

I wanted to like this vacuum but I did not, It’s heavy and hard to push. What I disliked the most was the wand and the hose. Removing it to use was challenging. The hose and attachments were unwieldy and nearly impossible to use effectively on upholstery. While the suction of the machine seemed good, it was not enough to overcome the other negatives. I returned the machine the following day and could not recommend it.

This vacuum does not work. It is extremely hard to push. I have tried it on all my carpets. It takes a lot of muscle to push it forward. I have tried the 3 level adjustments and none of them seem to make a difference. I am so disappointed in this. I always wanted a dyson. This vacuum is complete junk. Plastic parts and just really junky. I will be returning this and purchasing another brand.

First Animal Lasted 8 yrs; This one lasted 14 Mos

This is our second Dyson Animal. The first lasted 8 years and we loved it...so we bout another. After 14 mos, the spinning brushes stopped spinning and suction from the bottom was gone (vacuuming with the tube still works). Dyson did a video call with us and determined that we needed a new spinning brush part and sent it out. It did not resolve the issue. Vacuum still has no suction at the bottom and the spinning brushes do not turn on no matter what we do. We purchased an entry-level Bissel in the meantime and that is awful too but at least we expected that from a $140 vacuum. FTR, we have a Husky and did with the original Animal as well. I wish we would have just repaired the old Animal rather than buying a new worse quality Animal. In between this Animal and the original animal we had the top-end Bissel pet-specific vacuum and did love it for 2 years but it bit the dust as well. We bought the newer version of that when we moved and it too lasted 2 years. So this is not only a Dyson issue. FWIW, we have hard wood floors and a few rugs so there is no reason these machines should be dying like this. We have a Roomba that we run every day to keep things under control and it too only lasted 2 years. (Roomba and this Dyson were purchased a few months apart, so Miss Dyson here wasn't doing a lot of heavy lifting and still bit the dust.) Buy this only if you don't mind spending $500/year buying replacement machines.

The vacuum I bought is very powerful and picks up lot of pet hair. It's easy to push and maneuver, unlike other heavy vacuums I've had. The only downside is wand inside the hose is hard to use. Overall, I'm happy with it.

Our vacuum is still going strong after almost 4 years. It has amazing suction, perfect for pet hair and kid messes. Easy for the whole family to use. Had a couple minor issues, but Dyson fixed them quickly. Well worth the investment.

The best vacuum I've owned. Bagless canister saves money, pure sction power. Works on all floors, self-adjusts. Long hair can accumulate beater bar. Buy separate brush pets. Great mattresses too. No issues after 3 years.

Love my vacuum! Had it for 3 years, still works great. Easy to empty cnister, picks up cat hair well. Pricey but worth it. Use rugs and hardwood floors, hose and brush attachments work well. Durable hose. Highly recommend.

We replaced our 10 year old Dyson with the Dyson Ball Animal, it has never worked as good. Does not seem to have been built as well as our original at all and stopped worming completely after only a year. Spending 400 on a vacuum is already ridiculous but then for it to only last a year is insane.

I was excited for this purchase because I had a Dyson for 10 years and loved it. This one had cheap plastic parts and the function from upright to vacuum isn’t fluid. The vacuum part is good, but the vacuum doesn’t meet my expectations at at all.

Received a completely different vacuum that was used. When returning the vacuum I explained the situation and was assured it would be taken care of. Now Target is denying the refund and I am out a vacuum and the money I spent on it. Extremely disappointed
