Educational Insights GeoSafari Jr. Dino Discovery Dig T-Rex

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My daughter really enjoyed playing with the sand and thought it was neat to have the dinosaur bones inside. We were missing a arm for the dinosaur in our package. The texture of the sand was really strange to me but my daughter liked it so that's all that mattered. It was was a nice hands on Interactive activity for littles.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Dino discovery egg was such a fun toy. My kid was very interested at the beginning. However, once he was able to break into the egg the small surprises on the inside only kept his attention for a short time. For the price I don't know if I would purchase again. For a dinosaur lover however, it could be more interesting.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My boys (7 and 9) were excited when they first opened it but they only played with it for a few minutes before they quickly got bored. It's very small and the sand doesn't stay in the container.

We did find the Dino Dirt was hard to dig through with the plastic shovel that came included and had to use a metal spoon. Building the dinosaur was a little tough for my 4 year old however, once we built it for him he loved playing with it.

They actually threw it, seemed annoyed by it and we and played with the tree out front. I cannot truly rate or recommend one way or the other. Also. I'm glad we had the chance to try it for free because it would have sucked paying for something they didn't give one chance to.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like that the sand sticks together so it doesn't go anywhere but it is very sticky! My son had fun molding the sand. I wish the dinosaur fossil and the volcano case were higher quality, because they don't stay together very well. The gem and facts were fun for my son and he likes that he can play with it again.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I highly recommend the Educational Insights GeoSafari Jr. Dino Digs T-Rex activity! My 4 year old loved searching for all of the bones and then building his dinosaur together. He only needed minimal assistance and it kept him entertained for over an hour.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 5 and 3 year old boys LOVED this toy. The sand did not dry out after multiple uses and I was even able to separate the sand and fossils into separte plates so that both boys can play at once. One con was that the fossils were a little flimsy and a bit difficult to stand up once built, and the volcano storage case did not stay closed well once the sand was put back after play (this was an easy fix by placing the whole thing in a small ziplock bag for storage). This is a great little toy that kept my boys occupied for a long time!

We love this excavating fun! The dino was a tad tricky to build, otherwise I would have given this 5 stars. But my little one had a lot of fun being a tiny paleontologist! The 'stony ground' is great to dig through, and generally mess-free (win), and I love that it can be used again and again! Digging for the hidden gem was great fun too, and we loved guessing which one was going to be in our volcano.

My daughters were very excited to get these, they are 4 and 7 and love dinosaurs. Once out of the packet it was ready to play with, they dug their gem out along with the dinosaur fossils. They then put them together to make the dinosaur in their pack, it comes with a great information card as well. They then spent ages playing with the sets. The sand it comes with is like small gravel with a stretchy gluey consistency but doesn't stick to hands or the table. Its unusual but really tactile and fun to play with. It keeps its shape when moulded too. They loved using the tools, moulds and volcano case as part of their play. Best thing is everything fits into the volcano case that has a back to close it with so its easy to store and doesn't dry out. They've played with this so much since we got it.

My 4 year old is absolutely dinosaur mad, and after seeing this kit, he was nagging me for ages to get it for him!.. What could be more fun..! It is the perfect combination of mouldable tactile sand.. dinosaur bones ( that you can use to build the dinosaur ) and a surprise hidden gem stone.. all wrapped up in a fantastic volcano case! It even has a lovely little fact card with it! Both of my children ( ages 6 and 4 ) have had so much fun playing with this set!.. The sand is such a great texture.. and never dies out !.. Although it looks and feels like sand, it acts a bit like play dough.. so is fully mouldable so you can create lots of different scenarios for your dinosaur and on the plus side.. it's not sticky at all! When your finished, you can just squeeze it all back together and put it back in it's case! The case it comes in is a sturdy volcano, that keeps the sand and dinosaur all contained. It has 3 different moulds in the back that you can use to make impressions on the sand of fossils and dinosaur footprints. This is a fantastic set and perfect for any Dino loving child!
