This kit was a huge hit! My child absolutely loved painting and customizing the dino racers. The instructions were easy to follow, and the materials were great quality. It was the perfect mix of hands-on creativity and science, keeping them entertained while also learning. The racers actually work really well too! Definitely a great buy for any dino-loving kid. Highly recommend!

My kids were so excited to build this robot. They are smaller than the recommended age of 9+ so they did need help making it. I had a blast helping them. The instructions were helpful and it took about 30 minutes to build. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is that it stopped working after a little while. Otherwise a fun time!!

My boys love cars and dinosaurs, dino race cars was a great idea. This is was a fun activity to do with my boys, 4 and 6. The dino car kit includes everything you need to paint the dino cars. As a mom of 5 boys, im not a fan of paint, playdo and slime but this kit changed my opinion on paint. The paint dish helped to minimize the mess. My only negative about the kit was that it only included one paint brush but there were three cars.

Got the Nat Geo STEAM kit for our 4 and 5 year old who love dinosaurs. I’m not sure what I was expecting, but this didn’t hit the mark. There wasn’t really anything to do. It was more of a kiddie craft, and a cheaper one at that. We were disappointed and shocked that Nat Geo had its name on it and it was advertised as STEAM or STEM. It doesn’t seem to meet the requirements. You don’t put anything together. It has a small booklet that doesn’t say much and you can barely make out the distinction on the dinosaurs. The part on the “race car” parts of the cars aren’t made too well either. The paint tubes are like markers, but you have to cut the tops off with scissors and it’s an unholy mess. Then you’re supposed to put the pain into the small pallet they give you that so shallow it goes everywhere. That’s what I’m showing a picture of as I see everyone else has given pictures of the Dino cars painted. It’s just not the best set. So much more could have been done here. The paint took ages to dry and the kids weren’t really interested in them.

The National Geographic Dino Racer Activity Kit is perfect for kids of all ages. It comes with a few stark white, plastic Dino cars, a paint brush, paint tray and paint. My 4 year old son had a blast painting his Dino car and racing it around the kitchen.

This little kit has everything you need- other than scissors to cut the paint tube tops and water/paper towel for during painting. That is no biggie at all! It is all made well. The cars themselves are white plastic which was super easy to paint. The paint spreads easily and it doesn't take a lot, so there is plenty of paint to cover all 3 cars. The little palette is helpful for mixing and making colors. We made one of ours pink. The paint dries pretty quickly. my only issue was that the paint very easily went onto the wheels, but did wipe off. Another paintbrush would be helpful if more than 1 person wants to paint at the same time. My child did not want to paint all of the cars, but it is fine because they can still be played with! They are pull back & go cars and work very well. Overall it is a great little kit for learning and playing.

This is a great gift idea for small kids, who are one learning about dinosaurs two exploring the world through their hands via touch. Activity is easy to follow. Very straightforward to paint the pullback cars with any design you choose let it dry and play the following day. I noticed that the painting did start to get messy very quickly so I would definitely plan to have a newspaper or something else to cover a large area. Paint did not have any foul odor. Brush held up well to paint each dino truck, did not bleed once dry. They were great to use and easy to apply paint to the dinos. I would have wished there was a second or even third brush in the kit, but overall a great family activity to do with a small child, or even any Dino lover, who may be older. Wish the dinos could have been washed off and painted again

My son loved this activity set. Two activities in one, keeps them busy painting and once dried, it keeps them busy racing the cars around. I absolutely love this concept. The design and value is great!

My nephew has not opened this yet because he is getting it for Christmas. But this looks to hit all the checkmarks- dinosaurs, painting, cars. I see no reason why him and his brothers wouldnt enjoy such a thing.

What a cool product. My girls had a blast building out the cars and then playing with them afterwards. This was a fun activity to do with my 2 girls (both age 5). STEAM activities are great learning toys and this one did not disappoint.

National Geographic Paint Your Own Dino Race Cars Kit is a cute kit of 3 pull back dinosaur racing cars! This kit comes with paint markers, paint brush and paint plate to color each dinosaur car. Watching the boys paint each of the dinosaur cars was exciting for them and I even got to paint one as well. There is a T-Rex, Triceratops and Stegosaurus dino car that is very easy to race, just pull back and let them go. They are fun to race on a flat surface. I highly recommend the National Geographic Paint Your Own Dino Race Cars Kit for hours of dino racing and fun!

What a fun STEAM activity set! My daughter couldn’t wait to start painting her new Dino racers and had so much fun mixing primary colors to make the perfect shade. I love that the information sheet talked about both the dinosaurs, how pullback cars work, and color theory. This is a great set for young kids and a great way to introduce science concepts to littles!

This set included 3 decent-sized cars shaped like dinosaurs (T-Rex, Triceratops, and Stegosaurus). The dinosaurs are plain white and have very nice detailing. My kids are 4 & 6, so they painted them kind of messily, but older kids may enjoy painting the details more precisely. The only negative for me was the paints provided came in small tubes with pointed tips, but the tips are closed so you need a scissors to cut them. Not a big deal, but just an extra step. Otherwise my kids enjoyed painting these for a bit and the pull-back function of the cars works well.

The national Geographic race cars was very fund for my child. Everything we needed was there and it was very convenient. My only thing is there was not enough paint. We ran out of paint quickly and the paint did take some time to dry so make sure you are prepared to explain to the child pairing it that you cannot race the cars right away.

Was Unsure at First, Ended Up Loving These

When I first opened this, I wasn't super excited. It look a bit like National Geographic had just packaged a dinosaur car as an "educational product" by adding paint and some unpainted cars that just so happened to be dinosaurs. It does include a booklet talking about dinosaurs and cars but that doesn't really talk as much about the activity itself. Just some cool educational material on the side. However, while the educational piece isn't as strong as some other kits like these, the craft itself was super high quality. The paint stayed on very well and dried quickly. The cars are pretty fast too. Super fun activity overall!

These are great! It was a fun activity for my kids and it doubled as toys that they raced afterwards with its pull back feature. I appreciated that my kids could independently do this project- the paints came in little "pens" that they could squeeze onto the included palette. It also came with a cool pamphlet that showed how to mix colors and had facts about the dinos in the set so they learned something at the same time. Highly recommend! And am looking for other sets to purchase!

I got the National Geographic Dino Racer Activity Kit for my nephew and he absolutely loved it! He is really into dinosaurs, so this was a perfect pick. The kit comes with everything needed to build a dinosaur on wheels, which combines his love for dinos with something hands-on and interactive. The instructions were easy to follow, and we had no trouble putting it together. Once it was built, the dino racer actually zoomed around pretty fast, which was such a fun surprise! It’s also sturdy enough to handle a few crashes, which is a big win. Overall, it’s a fantastic activity for any kid who loves dinosaurs and building things. It kept him entertained and he learned a bit about how things work. Highly recommend it.
