If you would like to program the length of coffee you can change by press and HOLD the switch over. Wait until it fills the cup to the level of your preference and then release. it will now be memorized. You can repeat at any time to change this program. You can do this for each the 1 + 2 cup button thank you

Espresso machines specifically are designed to “pull shots” of espresso - pressurized water through compacted fine grounds. You can make an Americano by pulling a shot or two and then adding hot water to taste. A double shot uses 14g of coffee and produces around 60ml of espresso (about 2 liquid ounces). Double shots are now the standard in America and many places around the world. If you ask for a single, the barista will likely pull a double but use a split portafilter to halve the shot for you.
