Great Running Watch!

Have had it for almost 2 months and even took it to visit family in El Salvador so it went on SEVERAL long hikes and excursions with me in rough jungle terrain- held up EXTREMELY well. Only charged it once on the entire 2 week trip and was able to get data for stress levels and sleep as well as recommendations for training on high stress/low stress days etc. Currently using the Garmin app Half marathon training plan to get ready for my first half marathon and can already see improvements in my runs. The watch automatically gives you the option to do the suggested exercise for the day or choose your own. So excited to use on race day!

My brother purchased this watch for me so I can record my Strava activity and VO2 max along with many other activities. I am very much impressed at the quality and all the features. I did own a Fitbit one time and somehow lost it. This is much better. Not only does it connect to my Strava app. It has an app by itself that gives a even more comprehensive analysis of my activies. I'm still finding out more and more of what this watch can do and it's amazing. I think a great selling point would apon purchase receive a free 3-6 month Strava premium membership. That would be a great sell. The app that you use with your watch can be viewed on your phone, laptop or PC. It even has its own community. This is the most accurate watch I have seen. Not bulky. It's light weight and stealthy. It took me a few hours to really get the buttons down so I knew how to effectively set things up when on the go. Just make sure to read the directions and watch some video tutorials. Doesn't take long. It even has a phone finder so when I lose my phone. I can hit a button for the phone to ring. I sorta wanted the music version, but this was a gift and I didn't want to look greedy. It does the job and does it well. 10/10 overall experience.

Nice that this watch has touch screen, but if you want to keep screen on always the battery life isn’t the best. The watch faces are really hard to costomize. If you’re looking to save some money, I had the 145 and it was honestly more worth it IMO. A bit disappointed
AS well as exected

It is right what I was looking for. Light, no so big, and what I need to record my activities.

I got this watch two weeks ago, and I can definitely say that the battery life isn’t as good as they say. Maybe I wasn’t lucky, but I have to charge my watch every other day during the week.

I decided to get forerunner 165 because I’m interested in a smart watch that would accurately capture my HR, Pace and Cadence. The additional features of VO2 max and emergency safety notification, make it a much have for all runners

I am very happy with my Garmin Forerunner 165 purchase. It looks great and changed my running routine. I have upgraded it from my Fitbit Charge 5, and so happy I took the plunge. Now I use the running coach function and I have my customized training plan. I have zero regrets.
Great for running!

I switched to Garmin from Apple after too many glitches with my Apple Watch while running long distances. I do think the Apple Watch is better for everyday usability but as far as running goes Garmin is hands down better at pacing, stats and managing user data.

I had recently bought this new Garmin since my last one was lost(stolen). I really enjoy it. I do wish the battery life was longer like the instinct 2 but it makes up for it with how quickly it charges. Other than that it’s a very good watch and great to wear

I bought this a month ago when I was first getting into running and it has been amazing for tracking my runs. It makes it easier to keep my pace and plan out how I will be training.

Long time Garmin user. Started with 305 (brick on your wrist), Fenix 5s, Vivoactive (OG), Venue 2, FR 965, and finally FR 165. Although technically 965 has more features, 165 is the goldilock of Firerunners for me. Light, feature rich, and a joy to run with. Love it!

I have had and gone through many different types of “smart” watches: Apple, Fitbit, etc. and now a Garmin. This watch is a completely different playing field and experience when it comes to tracking, improving and breaking down your runs (including overall health). I was very caught off guard and the learning curve was a shock (hence the 4 stars, I’d be giving 4.5 if I could), I did have to utilize social media for applications/processes that I could not figure out on my own. I love the different features that are offered and the fact that I don’t have to pay a yearly fee to use all of them is astounding (*cough, cough* Fitbit). I was especially shocked to find out that I have the option of using a coach to help me reach my running goals. I have been doing my best to utilize every feature and the influence my Garmin has had on me maintains healthy habits has been the best outcome of all. I feel as though this watch will last me forever. Worth every penny and I will never look back.
Just what I was looking for!

After much research I decided to go with the Garmin. I had an Apple Watch and was very disgusted with the battery life. ( some days it wouldn’t last all day) I am very pleased with the battery life on the Garmin. The features are great. I am a novice runner but I still like to track what I do. The Garmin is perfect for what I do. I highly recommend the Garmin Forerunner 165 it’s reasonably priced and does what I like.

I owned a Garmin watch before this one, it had some timers and a compass. This watch is on another level. It can do everything the other watch did better, plus keep track of my body's stats. It's fast and relatively easy to use. In a way, it's making me a better person by encouraging me to stay fit. I use it to track indoor/outdoor walking, yoga, pool swimming, steps and stairs, etc. It suggests that I get more nightly sleep! I was looking for the best bang for the buck and this watch delivers.
Great watch overall

Love this watch and it has tons of features I appreciate. The battery life is great and I like how you can change the face display. It falls short of 5 stars for me for two reasons. The first being that it only comes with one band which barely fits my wrist on the 3rd hole while still being able to tuck the extra into the sliding retainer. The second reason being the I've already scratched the face within 2 weeks so it should come with a glass protector of the glass scratches this easily.
Nice change

Switched to the Forerunner 165 after my watch of another popular brand stopped working. I was looking for a watch with better battery life and to give more insight regarding sleep and other health measures. I love the battery life of the Forerunner 165 and the morning synopsis. I don’t particularly like the workout feature for weightlifting as it’s cumbersome, however, I still like the functionality and information it provides about other things such as sleep, fitness age, etc. I’d venture to guess that the functionality of this watch are way beyond how I’m currently using it, so I look forward to learning more about all it can do, however, that’s been a learning curve. Regardless, I’d purchase this watch, or another Garmin, again in the future.
