I replaced my lost Apple Watch as I’ve started running in my retirement. Love that I can leave my phone at home and still enjoy my music. I’m also loving all the health stats it provides. Hoping to use it to up my run training

This watch has surprised me in that it does everything very well. Running statistics, health status, and battery life are all top-notch. I am very happy that I purchased the Forerunner 255 Music.

I am still learning the features because winter weather forces most of my workouts indoors but I love the customizability of the face, the long batter life, the ability to track indoor bike and treadmill workouts, and sleep data.

The only critique I have is that it is not touch screen Other than that, this is a good watch! Does what I need it to do and so far has been easy to work with. I am going to upgrade to the 955 though to take advantage of the touch screen and more storage space for downloaded songs.

The main benefits of this watch are Bluetooth connectivity to phone AND headphones and the real time pace adjustments or guidance you can get while working out. The pace tracker is that main advantage I personally get out of this watch compared to an Apple Watch. Additionally, the ability to create workouts mile by mile, segment by segment and so on with the ability to set goals for each is something that puts this above the Apple Watch. I’ve seen improvements in VO2max and HRV and lowered my average pace. I think it’s mainly from having the ‘coaching’ tips in my ear as I run

The watch has worked great but I haven't used the music feature. Should have put the money towards the 265 and some of the features it offers. This is my mistake not Garmins. The 255m has worked great with the feature it offers.
The best of both worlds

I received my new Forerunner 255 music watch two weeks ago and have been wholly unimpressed. Now, it is unusable. Crickets from Garmin support and sounds like this is a worldwide issue. Previous FitBit user for years and years- never had an issue. Wishing I would not have switched at this point.
Great watch, annoying sensor

I have had the watch for 3 weeks and overall it’s really good. It’s great for fitness and health tracking. The only issue I am facing is that mid workout the heart rate sensor stops reporting and I am left in the dark until I take off the watch clean the sensor, restart the watch then restart my workout. Very annoying.
Great overall

Had this for a while, been reliable and useful. Battery lasts about a week depending on how much I use it. Great for tracking activities and just day to day watch.

Had a Forerunner 235 for 7 years. Once that watch died, I upgraded to this one and the new features like HRV status are amazing. This was an awesome refresh on a great line. The only thing that I wish was slightly better was battery life, but it is still very solid. With no GPS tracking this watch last well over a week, and about 5-7 days with daily GPS tracking activities.
Love this watch

This is the best running watch I have ever had, and that covers a pretty wide range from Apple to Google and a number of stops in between. All the information I want while I'm running at a glance... And since I don't wear my glasses when I run checking my watch while running without having to hold it at just the right angle 3 inches from my face is a BIG deal!! The only problem , and it's not a big deal, I wish the music would load a bit quicker. But I love the feature. One suggestion, as an older runner, since I no longer need to carry a phone ( I love that) is there any way possible to put an emergency call feature into the GPS?

I ran with the vivoactive 3, FR645, and FR745 in that order. Each watch was better than the last. The FR255 is a clear upgrade on all of them. The new hr sensor eliminated cadence lock. The battery lasts longer, and the HRV info is intriguing. I'm definitely pleased with this watch and glad i made the purchase.
Thanks but no thanks

Difficult to use. After my run can’t figure out how to return to watch face time. Takes forever to figure out in a timely manner. There has to be a easier way than reading the 300 page owner manual!

This watch was a worthwhile investment. It has me more connected and feeling more in control over my health and my performance as an athlete. I'm not a runner or a triathlete, and I will admit the device feels suited for distance and endurance athletes --I do almost none of the sort for my particular sport. However, it is perfectly suited for people in those competitions, and all it's features are designed with a sophisticated eye to aiding the recovering, training, and tracking athlete. I look forward to the possibility of more sport specific devices. The technology still struggles a bit with field and team sports, and I usually have to flub the sprints and agility drills I do as some form of running workout in order to accurately track my exercise output. Still, I find it incredibly useful.
