You have to tape both pieces together to make this an actual stopper, and half the time as a normal drain catcher it barely makes a difference. Would not recommend

Not sure why this has such mixed reviews! I have curly hair so a lot comes off when I shower. I’ve tried a lot of different hair catchers and this one works best for our specific tub drain! Of course these will get moldy over time but if you scrub it once in a while it honestly gets moldy slower than all other silicone ones I’ve tried. I really like how there are two barriers to going down the drain, and both are easy enough to get the hair out of!

The only stainless steel bit is the circular disc on top, which is only decorative - the rest of the item is a rigid “silicone” that feels like hard plastic, and when it eventually breaks, it will end up in a landfill for 500 years, or worse, the belly of a whale or other unsuspecting aquatic wildlife. Returned.

While I knew this was a hair catcher I assumed it was also a stopper for the drain, that's the only thing that would give this 5 stars if it served both purposes....which is what I wanted. It definitely looks nice but I've yet to use it to see the ease of cleaning and how well it works. Willing to give it a try because of the looks but honestly the fact it's two pieces seems inconvenient when you have to remove it to put a drain stopper in for baths.

Absolutely love this item. Makes cleaning the hair out regularly super quick and easy. The only downside is the soap scum that it catches doesn’t clean out very easy. Doesn’t seem to have a huge impact on the draining but it’s just gross to have to get in there to properly clean it.

i have long hair and when i wash it a lot of it falls off and the filter does catch it. however when it comes to cleaning the bottom filter it can be a bit hard.

I wish I had found this product sooner! Has saved me so much time and energy dealing with my hair clogging the drain. Super easy to clean and install. I much prefer this design over similar products where the hair simply sits on top of the catcher.

This works great, spend the $14 to avoid clogs. My daughter got her toy stuck in the drain. I went out and bought this. It catches all the hair and easy to clean

Obsessed with this. Always had the cheap hair catchers but this is worth the few extra dollars.

When I lost my tub shroom during a move I bought this because it was cheaper, but the oxo version is so bad I had to switch back. The oxo drain catcher clogs so easily, I’m talking mid shower the tub would start to fill from a small amount of hair. And the bottom piece has to be rinsed after your shower, otherwise it’s really hard to clean once it’s dried and clogged. It’s annoyingly hard to clean, and over all just no where as good as the tub shroom. I recommend buying it instead.

I wouldn’t get this again. The rubber developed mold that couldn’t be cleaned, even with bleach. While the hair came off of the removable section easily, the holes in both pieces got gunked up quickly and slowed the water flow down the drain causing pooling while we showered. Eventually, the portion that sits in the drain came apart.

Replaced our Tubshroom with this, much easier to clean!

I thought this could be used to plug the tub as it says “stopper” in the description. It does not plug the tub. Waste of money

Sure it would have worked great if it fit in my drain! It seems like a great design and well made, I just can’t remove the stopper in my tub.

We use it so catch our dog’s fur during her showers. It does a great job. Easy to clean and let air dry. Since it’s a shower, it fills up and then I have to clean it. Once the hair is caught around the trap, it doesn’t let the water flow out, but does catch all her fur.

I've only had it for a few weeks so far but it seems to work really, really well. I think this is actually keeping all the hair from going down the drain and it is very easy to pull up the topper and remove the hair. The bottom piece fits tightly enough that I don't think anything is getting in underneath. This same brand makes an upside down bowl shaped one that I put over the top for even more help, but when that was the only one I had it was always moving to the side (water from the shower would push it off to the side of the drain) and hair would get past.
