A: Hi! We test the item on multiple sinks and with a proper fit, the sink strainer with stopper function is meant to block water and debris from going down the drain. We recommend supervising your sink so that the sink doesn’t overflow when the stopper is in the locked position.

Q: 4.5" seems wide. Is that the dimension with the overlap at the top or the dimension of the sink opening?

Lasted for 3 months and then fell apart in pieces. Blocks the drain until you keep twisting it with a sink full of muck. Ugh, disappointed especially because it’s OXO.

We have used one in our sink for a couple of years. They work well and it is easy to clean. Make sure the seal is tight when placing in the sink. Sometimes when releasing the water, the water pressure will close the plug. Sometimes it’s best to to remove it to drain.

The stopper twists itself closed often and I find myself having to unstop it. I use it for my laundry sink, which I don’t use frequently, so it’s not a problem for me. I wouldn’t recommend for kitchen sink though.

Unfortunately, this stopper/strainer did not work for me. The stopper back popped off and I could not get it to holder water in the sink - this could be user error.

I've had this for a few weeks, and the knob turns by itself, which blocks the drain. So almost every time I turn on the water I have to turn the knob to let the water drain.

It works well however, the knob stopped working properly for me within the month and I have to fiddle with it a bit to get it to seal the water in. The quality is great. I’ve tried the other version of this product without the knob and seal layer and I prefer it over this version. Go with the simple one instead of this one.

I am rebuying this product. It is so much easier to use than the standard sink stopper that you have to exactingly fit in the sink's small metal hole. The knob does not stick up too far. It is easy to lift when needed, and the silicone mesh is easy to turn inside out when it needs to be cleaned. I took off a star as I turned the knob too far (very hard) and the rubber knob broke off.

Not worth the price. After a few months it just was not working properly. If I would run the water, it would not let the water pass through which became so annoying. Nothing was clogging it.

It falls apart but still works without metal band. The sikicone catch part is cleaner than the mesh style after repeated use. Is fine if you can get past keeling the metal band

I am displeased with this item because it was useless to me. It didn't fit in my drain so I couldn't use it. I tried to contact the company as stated on the package but no response. I will definitely be returning the product back to Target ASAP.

I use these for my kitchen sink. So far I love them and no issues. They do a great job catching everything! It is difficult to clean the inside on the bottom if it gets too gross but does what it should!

It's a two piece component-- The bottom piece will slip off accidentally and cause the sink to drain. Don't buy this, get one from another store.
