Q: Does this stopper work over an existing stopper that does not work?

A: Hello! The Bath Tub Drain Stopper is mostly flat and will work on any drain that allows the product to lay flat and flush against the tub. If the drain has a built-in stopper that is sticking up from the drain, it will not work. The stopper would have to be removed in order to use this item with the drain, as it would need to lay flush against the tub.

Got this upon realizing that the tub drain in my house doesn’t work – I take baths too infrequently for most of the year to justify to myself getting my landlord to schedule a plumber. The thin-ness of the silicone made me a little nervous that it wouldn’t achieve a good seal, but I can fill the tub entirely for a bath no problem. This is what I do – with the tub still dry, I get the stopper wet in the sink before ensuring that the circular “ridged” part (directly underside the metal part) is fitted nicely over my tub’s drain. Then turn on the water and let ‘er fill! No idea if what I do has an impact, but I figure it doesn’t hurt when trying to get a good seal. Great product, and the built-in mini suction cup is great for storage.

I like that there is a little suction cup to keep it in place. It is large enough to cover the drain and seal well. The only thing is that you can't put it down then atart the water because it won't stay in place. Not a deal breaker, just a bit annpying until you get used to it.

Looks good but I thought it would suction closed all the way around. When bathtub is dry and empty it just sits on top of the drain. It doesn’t stay suctioned to seal off the drain.

I literally just throw it on top of the drain and it is good to go to start a bath. It is easy to keep clean and mold free. I had a previous bath stopper that accumulated mold even after washing it after each use. Overall it is a great quality.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a thick rubber silicone and is one of the best tub stoppers I’ve used. I can use it both in the tub and in the sink. It’s a lot easier to use than your standard tub stopper and works a lot better. It has a tab that you can pull up to make it easier to loosen.
