When I add a new item to our kitchen I check American Test Kitchen for recommendations since they thoroughly put models through many more vigorous tests than I could before choosing a winner. This Hamilton Beach slow cooker was rated best overall traditional slow cooker and after using I see why. The controls are so easy and the options are the best on any slow cooker I've seen. I like any cooking equipment with a temperature probe and this one was very easy to use since there are multiple places to insert the thermometer. The locking lid with seal is a great design. I can't imagine anyone not enjoying this cooker.

This crockpot is everything I need. The quality is good and It works great!

Awesome feature that takes the guesswork out of cooking a roast. I also love the clips that keep the lid in place when transporting food in the slow cooker. Those clips were a blessing when I took a full batch of mulled wine to a party.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I ordered the Hamilton Beach Hamilton Beach Temp Tracker Slow Cooker specifically for the temp tracking and sous vide feature which has allowed me to prepare better meals that are not over cooked and explore recipes using this new to me technique while still having an appliance that permits me to cook traditional slow cooker recipes with accurate temps without the guess of the old fashioned high or low setting and set times.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great slowcooker! I used a recipe for a sirloin tip roast, that said it would take 8 hours to cook a 4 - 5 lb roast. This was not the case! The roast, cooked using the temperature probe, was cooked in half that time! The roast was tender and juicy and vegetables cooked perfectly, just be sure to put the vegetables in at the start. The unit cleans up very easily. The lid has 3 holes to insert the probe, when cooking using internal temp. One note, when the probe is removed during cooking, you will have to restart the program. The lid on the unit maintains a great seal and uses two clamps, one at each end. the unit has a very modern design and the stainless steel outer covering fits in any decor! I believe this to be a great appliance for anyone looking to replace an existing slowcooker!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was excited to unbox this new Temp Tracker slow cooker! I've always wished I could have a slow cooker that would know when to turn itself off, not just because it had cooked for the allotted time, but because my food was perfectly done. Lo and behold....here is what I've been hoping for! It is so nice to have the temp probe for cooking. When food reaches the desired temp, the cooker can hold it at that temp or hold at pre-set warm temp. No more coming home an hour later than you'd planned to chicken that has become slurry. Integrated probe ports on the lid mean you don't even have to lift the lid and lose your heat. Just insert into the port and you're good to go. The probe can even be used at any time for a quick read if you're doing other styles of cooking in it. I'm especially excited to try the sous vide feature on this cooker. Supposedly, restaurants use this method to ensure perfect results. I look forward to those results in my own kitchen where it won't cost me an arm and a leg to do so! I'm not a yogurt making fan. Yet. This machine has the capability to do that too. Who knows, maybe I will branch out into something new. The beauty of it is, I can try it without buying another appliance because it's already built in to this one! This cooker is a good fit for me because it does an excellent job with a method of cooking I already understand, and it offers me a little room to grow and expand my cooking comfort zone too. Give it a try, I think you'll be as happy with it as I am.

I also cooked a pot roast with the hold temp feature and it also came out delicious and tender. This is an excellent product to ensure food is cooked to a proper temperature.

I do like the better control over the timer to set when cooking, so much better than my other one. I also enjoy having the locking lid for carrying if you are helping out with a potluck meal. I would definitely recommend this product. I did have a small hot spot towards the back that burned my food.

Make no mistake, this is a big slowcooker that will work well for family meals or social occasions that involve you bringing a hot dish to share. While the unit is attractive, what matters far more to me is that the handles and locking lid make it easy and safe to move when full. As someone who still recalls the catastrophic spills that often occurred with slowcookers of yore, the more secure lid and handles are a dream come true. Looking beyond first impressions, the next thing I discovered about this unit was that it does way more than I expected it to. While I haven't tried every feature out yet, I'm looking forward to discovering how well it works for things like sous vide cooking and yogurt making. If there was one thing I would add to this cooker, it would be some sort of attached lid cradle. However, that's not really a flaw so much as something I wish they'd add to future models. Overall this is a pretty great slow cooker that I expect to get a lot of use out of.

Not only can I track the temp while making a roast but I can make yogurt! I don't have to worry about using a pressure cooker or continually checking the temp. I also like that there are 4 different holes to place the temp probe making it easier to check the temp on what I am cooking. The size of the pot is larger than other slow cookers I have had and it is very easy to use. I am loving this slow cooker and will be using it a lot. A set-it-and-forget-it slow cooker that surpasses standard slow cookers and rivals more expensive ones. Read the accompanying manual for suggested temperatures and times for foods to avoid over- or under-cooking. PROs On upper-left front stainless steel exterior are the words, "Hot Surface" to alert user that exterior becomes quite hot during cooking, due to interior heating elements. 6-QT capacity holds large poultry (up to 6 LBs) or roast (up to 4 LBs). Tight-fitting lid has a slim rubber gasket that seals lid securely while cooking. Tiny vents on lid's top allow steam to escape, as food cooks. Three holes in lid to insert temp probe in meat for best location. Lid lock features two clamps to hold lid in place for easy transport. Do not use clamps while cooking, however. Easy carrying handle on lid. Heavy and sturdy, glazed black ceramic interior pot is easy to clean and is dishwasher-safe. Electrical cord, ~3 ft long, wraps and stores on bottom to eliminate safety hazard of a long, dangling cord. May likely be a "con" for those whose walls are not equipped with electrical outlets along countertop. Digital display provides current internal temp and target temp when using manual probe. Digital display is easy to operate. Digital cook functions -- Low (slow simmer), Medium (warm enough for serving food hot), High (steady simmer) may be used with or without manual temperature probe. Three Temp modes (Temp, Keep Warm, and Hold Temp). Temp mode uses integrated manual temp probe to cook food at a selected temperature. Minimizes chances of overcooking and ensures food safety when cooking beef, pork or poultry. Automatically switches cooker to "keep warm" setting up to 24 hours once cooking temp is reached, but 8 hours is typical to avoid drying out food as well as food safety. Used Hold Temp function to make homemade yogurt, fondue, cultured buttermilk, and even to bulk-proof bread dough. Poached eggs and delicate sauces are also great on Hold Temp. Many of these will be leaving my house as the "Temp Tracker Slowcooker" does everything. It works at every temp setting -- Warm, Low, Med, High, Temp Mode (w/probe) and even has Sous Vide settings. The controls are incredibly simple and intuitive with just a knob and a screen. Everything is clearly explained in the manual, as well. The construction is great. It has a ceramic liner (the only ones I'll use) with easily grabbed tabs. The lid has 3 probe insertion holes, a thick gasket and a locking handle. That handle and the locking mechanism is the sturdiest setup I have yet to encounter and it includes a great probe storage spot. So far I have cooked a whole Chuck Roast and a Kielbasa/Cabbage/White Bean stew. They both came out perfectly and I can't wait to try Sous Vide cooking. As I mentioned above, come on over if you want a free Slow Cooker. I'm getting rid of 3 of my 5. I'm only keeping my 4qt model, since there's only 2 of us.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This hamliton beach temp tracker slow cooker is so great I really loved how easy this is to use and I always cook while I’m not home and now I can set the timer to cook when I’m not there and come home to a great meal and I like that it switches to keep warm when it’s done and the screen lights up a nice blue it’s very nice looking and super easy to use I like the temperature probe so now I always know when my meat is done it’s very convenient and modern looking it’s working great I love it and I definitely recommend this crockpot it’s made my life easier that’s for sure And it has heated the food perfectly and evenly and I love the lid it’s got a great nice big handle and a place to keep the temperature probe when not in use it makes it very convenient I love having a digital crockpot if it makes my dinners go more smoothly then I’m all for it.
