Q: I am allergic to Latex. Does this Matter Compostable bag have any latex in it? Or any possible allergic reaction to the food stored in the because of a Latex allergy? Thank you Grandma

These are great bags! They dispense from the box just like other popular quart-size bags, and they’re a great size! They did a great job transporting my son’s snack to and from school with no problem. They’re durable and are easy to write on as well, which are added bonuses.

Love that they're made from plant material. In many cases, I'm using them in place of regular plastic bags. Contrary to the experience of other reviewers, I haven't had a problem with the bags ripping. Taking health and environmental factors out of the equation, in fairness, plastic bags are probably cheaper and more durable.

Horrible bags. Do not buy them. Cannot open the bags without them ripping. Very cheap and poorly designed. I love the sustainability but they are not practical or even feasible to use.

I’ve been looking/waiting for a “green” zipper bag that did not cost a fortune - these are it. I typically despise buying plastic storage bags and only use as an absolute last resort (if only my husband was on the same page). Some habits die hard! I would cringe every time and try to wash them for reuse. The Matter bags are durable, stay closed and work just as well as the “standard” bags. Really happy that I found these - every little bit helps when it comes to our environment. This was a no-brainer, easy switch to make a difference. I’m highly please with this product!

The zippers on the bags are VERY hard to open. The bags tear, and if you do get them to open properly they're a pain in the neck to zip closed!

For instance, I couldn't use them for my kids' lunch because they wouldn't be able to get in by themselves and the poor lunch monitors shouldn't have to deal with that. Seems like a good biodegradable alternative to other zip storage bags,but be careful what you put in them. Might never get back in.

They're not completely see through but that's OK. These are a very great alternative to plastic. If you're looking for ways to minimize your plastic consumption this is a really good one.

The best part about them is that the they are 100% compostable. The only thing I had trouble with was trying to open them because I felt like I was going to rip the top it was that secure

I’ve tried other products, but didn’t love the performance. These bags are amazing! The zipper seal is really tight and I had no leakage, and the bags worked just as well as plastic. They kept leftovers fresh, and I felt better knowing that I was using a product that’s better for the environment. Definitely recommend!

If I use this bag for waste, it will go into a landfill anyways. My city does have compost bins so I can use these bags for that and try to help send fewer plastics to the landfill.

It's great that a company finally came up with a compostable baggie. The box says they will take a few months to biodegrade as opposed to a typical plastic baggie that takes thousands of years. These baggies will give you the convenience of a disposable baggie while not being so bad for the environment. The one thing I noticed is that they are not clear bags, but you can still see through them enough to know what's in the bag. Overall, I would definitely purchase these in the future!

I love that these bags are plant based and will breakdown easier than traditional baggies. They are the perfect size and they zip up easily and securely. If you're looking for bags that are environmentally friendly, I highly recommend these.
