Q: How do you clean the transducer/ultrasonic membrane.

  • A: 1. Remove the tank cover and set aside. 2. Remove the tank and pour out any water remaining in the tank. 3. Twist as indicated to remove the water reservoir from the bottom of the tank and pour out any remaining water. 4. Clean the transducer/ultrasonic membrane with a 50/50 mix of white vinegar and water on a cotton swab. Wipe off with a damp cotton swab. NEVER touch the transducer/ultrasonic membrane with your fingers; the natural oils in the skin can damage the surface. NEVER submerge the base in water or any other liquid. 5. After cleaning, reassemble the humidifier, fill with water, plug in, and turn on. 6. Press and hold the clean indicator/reset button for 3 seconds, until the clean indicator turns off.

    I seem to have the same issue as the person who had the tank valve opened by the float valve causing the lower tank to overfill. This happened after only a very short time after first use and despite careful examination and troubleshooting, I can find no reason why this would have happen. Water leaked through my hardwood floor on the second floor down to the first floor ceiling in my kitchen. I now have to hire a professional to repair the ceiling and paint. I do not recommend this product and advise anyone to use caution as it is prone to leaking.

    Works great. Looks great. We are in the second winter of this unit. However, it’s impossible to clean! There is no way to clean the air chamber and it looks gross. It’s also tough to take to the sink to fill because there is no good place to hold it.

    When it works, it’s wonderful. However, that seems to be rare… it leaks often and the red light to clean comes on even after cleaning and resetting.

    Worked great until it didn't. I followed the cleaning instructions to the letter, put everything back together and the power button is red and it won't operate. After reading several suggestions on troubleshooting, and none of them helped, I started reading reviews and this seems to be a common issue. So frustrating and I'll never buy one again.

    Problem using with gas appliance.

    Purchased for dryness in home. Relative humidity is 15. In use for only one hour. It caused orange flames when I turned on gas stove. Orange flames means carbon monoxide issue. Also Air Doctor went crazy immediately when turning on humidifier . Opened windows and after two hours flame went back to blue. I never would have purchased had I known cool mist could be a problem if you own gas appliance. Should be noted on box.

    Major design flaw with this humidifier. It looks nice but is really cheaply made. You must fit the base in the power components just so or it doesn’t work. I eventually threw it out. Wasted my money on a piece of crap. Levoit has better more simplified models.
