Q: Dos it require distilled water?

submitted by Jason - 5 years ago
  • A: a blind eld woman who heard abt this but wsnt sure abt the filt wter, neither was the woman who went w/ her. I am consider a single Serv Kurig for my count Thank you

    submitted byBlessedArtist04 - 3 months ago
  • A: Hi Jason, thanks for your question. We recommend using bottled or filtered spring water in your Keurig coffee maker. Coffee and tea are over 98% water so quality water is necessary for a good coffee, tea or iced beverage. We do not recommend distilled water in your Keurig coffee maker as it can change the taste profile of your coffee by making it bitter, and may cause brewing results to vary.

  • A: I have never used distilled water! sting water or purified water works well. it also doesn't clog the machine with minerals.

submitted byDebS - 3 years ago
  • A: No but I use distilled water anyway. Bottled spring water contains minerals that may ultimately build up (deposits) and cause clogging. My Keurig (special edition) is almost 10 years old and it is still working! Clogs once in a while but only due to swiss miss chocolate kcup. No problem with calcification. Paper clip helps everytime.

Q: When it's all heated and I push the selected amount of water I need, it barely starts to flow and now it won't dispense any water. Unable to use at all now.

submitted by Rose - 7 years ago
  • A: I highly recommend calling the customer service number...mine stopped working suddenly and when I called they talked me through each step until the problem was resolved ( amazing what a paper clip can fix) Thank you Keurig support team!

submitted byLK - 6 years ago
  • A: The point that pierces the pod is most likely clogged. There’s a tiny opening which needs to be cleared. I clean mine monthly by using a straightened paper clip. You can google how to clean your machine. Be sure to unplug your Keurig machine first.

submitted byK Reinstein - 7 years ago
  • A: Agree with the previous response about unclogging the metal piece that pierces the pods. Keurig has EXCELLENT customer service, if you phone them they will walk you step by step to troubleshoot your machine, if it is still unresolved (typically cleaning it corrects the problem), but if it persists they send you a new machine.

Q: does this model come with filter

submitted by Jj - 7 years ago
  • A: Yest, this model does come with a water filter. You can purchase replacement water filter cartridges (2-pack). I change mine every two months as our water is quite hard. Helps keep the machine operating and makes the coffee delicious.

submitted byLaurie - 7 years ago
  • A: Hi and thank you for your question. We would suggest reaching out to Target directly for more specific information on what is included in the pack-up of this item. We hope this information is helpful.

  • A: If you have had and used it daily for several years, it probably needs replacing. I am on my second one and wouldn't be without it. Use it every day and it is so great to have a fresh cup of coffee in a very short time. My first pot lasted between 3 and 4 years. This one is doing great. I do change the filter regularly which I am sure helps to prolong the life of the maker.

Q: Can I use milk instead of wáter to prepare my coffee?

submitted by Vero - 7 years ago
  • A: Our brewers are designed to be used with water only. We recommend using bottled or filtered water in your Keurig brewer. Coffee and tea are over 98% water so quality drinking water is necessary for a good coffee, tea or iced beverage. Never use softened water because sodium ions in softened water form a gelatinous mass around the coffee grounds and tea leaves, slowing down the extraction process and causing over-extraction. This can also clog your brewer.

submitted byKeurig Care - 7 years ago
    Brand expert
  • A: Are you serious? No it will back up your machine, possibly clogging it, but above all of that - the residue that would remain in the guts of your machine would sour and not only be hazardous to your health but it would soon begin to smell. . .really bad. I would also recommend "NOT" using a fill yourself pod. The grounds you buy in the store are finer and will float, often spilling over into your machine and cup. Use only manufactured PODS.

    submitted byStiles9600 - 7 years ago

Q: Where is the filter located? I bought this model and extra filters, but not seeing where you even change it at? I also have the Keurig 2.0 K200, and it was very easy to find and change the filter.

submitted by LMA - 7 years ago

If you want a simple no-frills Keurig coffee maker, this is definitely the one to get! Given how light it is (compared to my previous one), I was a little concerned about its sturdiness, but those concerns are definitely gone! Very easy to move around and extremely reliable when it comes to making that simple cup of coffee, cider, or hot cocoa! My only nit? I wish the water was lit! (Rhyming not intentional!) Absolutely love it so far!

I wanted to give this 5 stars, but I can't get over the weird brew sizes. The brew sizes are 6 oz, 8 oz, and 10 oz which is so odd to me. Why offer that many sizes with no 12 oz? So interesting.

I had a Model 2-500, one of the early Keurigs. Well designed and well made. This one is horrible. COFFEE BREWED IS NOT HOT. Too tall to operate under my kitchen cabinets. Have to move the coffee maker FORWARD to be able to lift the holder to insert a new K-cup - or remove the used one. All PLASTIC. Also have to move it it physically remove the water resevoir to fill it. VERY POORLY DESIGNED. Keurig, you ruined the design. This thing is a piece of &$*#.

This is a simple easy to use coffee maker. Nothing fancy. No fuss. Price was great since I bought it during their Christmas sale. The only part that I’m not too fond of is the part where you put the Kpods in, it’s like a moat so I can see cleaning that part would be a hassle. Otherwise very happy with my purchase!

I’ve been using the Keurig coffee make for a while now and overall. I’m really happy with it. It’s incredibly easy to use. Just pop in a K-Cup, press a button and you’ve got a cup of coffee in no time. The coffee brews quickly and consistently. I love the convenience of having it ready when I need it. The water reservoir is a nice size, meaning I don’t have to refill it constantly. My only downside is that you can’t fully take the machine apart for a deep clean. While it’s easy to wipe down and rinse the removable parts, I would have liked the option to clean the inner workings more thoroughly. This isn’t a dealbreaker for me, but it’s something to keep in mind for long-term maintenance. Overall, it’s a fantastic coffee maker for anyone looking for a simple, efficient brewing experience. I’d definitely recommend it!

This model was the first one I ever owned and it lasted me a long time. So I'm glad I bought another one. The classic does its job and I never experienced any issues with it. I like the design and the simplicity of it and it makes a decent cup of coffee. I have had the more expensive ones and I did have issues with them. Especially the K Elite. The K Compact was the one I just had and it started acting up after only a few months of use so I decided to go with my old standby then K50 and I'm glad I did.
