I am so disappointed with this shredder. I am disabled and it was time to upgrade from my hand shredder. Mistake! Everything I attempt to shred, gets stuck in the outer cylinder of the actual shredding attachment. Then, since it’s stuck, I have to use a butter knife to loosen it so I can pull it out and get the large pieces that prevent the shred from happening. Not to mention, the strength it takes to release the shredder from the outer cylinder. I end up with half shredded whatever and a big mess. Not worth it at all!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It’s ok. The top chute broke after a couple of uses and I had to superglue it back together. Cheese should definitely be cold because it gums up really fast and I’m left with a slice of cheese that gets stuck around the blade and the side chute but we just save that for the dogs. It just feels like it’s going to fall apart every time I use it.

I love the convenience & how easy it is to use. However, it doesn't really work great with cheese - leaves a lot inside the cylinder around the grater that has to be scraped out. Otherwise, it's good.

bought this yesterday to chop vegetables for soup. worked good for carrots, they did stain the plastic. but it did not work good for the celery or the onion. I would have better off sticking to hand chopping.

I have been using this shredder for only 4 months to shred cheeses only. I'd say it's been used a total of 7 times. It was bought new, and has beed a great addition to my KitchenAid collection. Unfortunately the clear tube shaped off making it useless. What a shame KitchenAid. I think this one needs a redesign. I would not recommend this as it is today.

I bought this mainly for the slicer. I've tried to slice bell peppers and citrus fruit and the slicer doesn't slice but turns them to mush. I've tried every every speed and it just doesn't work.

No more hand shredding my cheese. Great addition to my kitchen aide. I had been waiting for this to go on sell to purchase and glad I did. Only negative was the cheese it’s in the little crack on the sides and have to soak it a little longer to come off but other than that no complaints.

This set is a game changer for grating stuff. I used to grate cheese by hand which was tiring. This gets the job done in about two minutes and it’s so easy. I will say that it’s a bit cumbersome to clean as little pieces of cheese get smooshed up in it but it’s still worth using. The quality of the pieces is great and I expect it will hold up very well over time.

This Fresh Prep Slicer/Shredder attachment is great for grating cheese that I use all the time. I have used it for slicing vegetables also, but it slices a bit too thin for salad vegetables to me. That will not keep me from using it for other things in the future though.

Purchased this with a stand mixer. The mixer is great; however, this slicer is junk. I have tried cucumbers, carrots, onions, and tomatoes so far, and all I got was a mushy mess from each vegetable. I followed the videos and instructions. It's not worth the money. I haven't tried the spiralizer yet hopefully it works better than this.

The KitchenAid fresh prep slicer set disappointed. I followed all set up and safety directions. The slicer and medium shredded left much to be desired. Incomplete slices on carrots and celery, worse on the celery. Shredded carrots were passable. My thought was the blades were not sharp enough? Was somewhat concerned handling the blades really need to be very careful not to touch sharp sections. Very sorry to have to return this Fresh Prep set. I bought my KitchenAid stand mixer from Target and am extremely happy and satisfied with performance.
