Just purchased another set for my niece after my own kids have loved ours for the last three years. Many different ways to play and engage with this set based on the child's learning and interest level- colors, counting, matching, alphabet, etc. We just have loved it.
Perfect gift for a 2 year old!

Great value. The perfect starter kit for your toddler. I got this for my son’s second birthday & it helped him learn his shapes and colors. I liked this so much I repurchased for my nieces birthday.

We receive this as a gift for my two year old. She loved it immediately. After letting her play for a bit we noticed that she only had one green animal but had 3 purple ones, where the box says she should have 2 of each. Also, one of the pegs for the barn peg board is missing the peg part so it cannot be affixed to the barn, despite my toddler desperately trying anyway. Really disappointing that the parts were not as advertised for such a well rated product.
Buy again and for a friend!!

This is a great story time adventure!!! It is good for story telling or just some good old learning fun. It also provokes them to learn on their own. For example I had all the colored animals out and the colored circles and I stepped away for a moment and when I came back my 3yr old had separated all the animals to their matching color on the mat without me giving her any direction. It is also a great tool for letter and number recognition as well as counting.
Great variety of learning activities to prepare for Pre-K.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product as part of an incentivized review program, but would have purchased this for my 2.5 year old. Age range listed is 2-3 years, which I agree with. All contents came, as listed, in a nice compact box with Velcro closure and string to carry; everything fits nicely into the box, which I like. Included with the toys was a Parent guide with several good ideas/suggestions for games and learning activities to play with your child. The guide also offers suggestions in each category (i.e. sorting, fine motor, etc.) for things to do with your child that don't include items in the kit, which is neat. I like that the animals are a soft, squishy plastic and the barn pegboard is lightweight and made of soft/squishy material. I also like that the flash cards are colorful with fun background patterns and could be used for color designation activities, too. The flash cards came in a Ziploc bag, but the bag needs to be slightly larger so you can get the cards in and out easier. I would also suggest Ziploc bags for the pegs and the animals, too. Also, the animal corral should be large enough to fit all 10 animals in it at the same time. Another issue I had was with the colors of some of the items; the purple and blue animals were very similar in color, which can be confusing for a young child. Also, the shading of the purple animals didn't match the shade of the purple peg and the purple circle on the board. And in the booklet, peg colors in the photo didn't fully match the actual color - says purple, but picture looked pink. Overall, I really like this item and would definitely recommend to friends and family with young children.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this as a gift for review promotion and my 2yo daughter and I have played with the activities included in the kit several times now. She loves that she can sort the little pieces by color and make animal sounds. She also likes building towers with the pegs. We have played some of the activities that come with it, but have modified some of them too. For example, we have used the number cards with cheerios to count out sets and I put the letter cards in page protectors to practice tracing. It's a nice kit and great for school readiness.

I am a fan of learning resource products and this is no different. This product was perfect for my 2 year old child. He is a slow talker but he is slowly learning his colors and using one word answers to communicate. He doesn't know his colors just yet but this has been a great way to teach colors, numbers, and shapes. I use this every day with him to see how much he can learn and he's already showing huge strides. I am always looking for manipulatives to help children learn and this has been the greatest tool.
I also run a daycare and have many children in the 2-3 age range. All my children love playing with the animals and shapes and finding ways to show the different colors in numbers, position words, etc. It's truly a great tool that is multi functional. It is a MUST for children that are 2-3 and learning the very important concept of shapes, color, and number concepts.
The perfect gift

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this gift for the daughter of a friend of mine. She loved putting the animals on the colored circles. I used to work in a preschool, and could totally see myself using this in a preschool class setting as well. It has may choices once your toddler gets bored of one activity.

This has become a go to resource for me! It is a great tool for Early Intervention. Instead of bringing a whole bag of "tool" I just bring this. I am able to target to many different skill areas; colors, shapes, counting, animal names and sounds, etc.
Fun for little ones!

My 2.5 year old loved playing with the animals and the barn. We worked on setting a certain # of the animals on the 1-10 picture cards and that went well for a small amount of time. I really liked the easy to read alphabet cards with the picture-prompt (A is for Apple!) to help with the letter recognition. Sometimes when it's just the letter boards or toys, it's hard for them to remember what's what - so this helped to give a little 'nudge' as they worked through it! Only reason for 4 starts vs. 5 is the interest level never seems to last longer than 10-15 minutes so I'm still waiting to see how many times he goes back and chooses it to play with!
Perfect for my toddler class!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I teach a toddler preschool class that consists of children 2 and 3 years of age and this is perfect for them! There are not of pieces to overwhelm them or lose. 10 pegs and 10 animals are just the right amount to keep them interested but not too to scatter! We can count with the animals, sort the colors, sort the animals or play pretend with the farm theme. I LOVE the flash cards. They are simple and not too busy and have nice large pictures. I love this set! The only reason I gave it a four instead of five star rating is because the animals can be squeezed together, and put into mouths.
