THIS is the LEGO set that got me back into LEGO since I was a small child. It is absolutely AMAZING to look at. I'm a Lord of the Rings fan before anything else so it was a no-brainer to get this set. All the details are so beautiful and it's awesome to see all the pieces come together to recreate the beautiful and iconic scenes. The only pains are those dang roof tiles!! But it's worth it for the end result. Truly, truly stunning.
A Masterpiece

Not simply the best Lord of the Rings Lego set ever made but in my opinion the best Lego set ever made. If I could only buy and own one Lego set this would be it. A gorgeous set that is a pleasure to build and even better to behold. It truly captures the essence of Rivendell in all its glory. It also includes 21 minifigures with the entire Fellowship represented.

This set is amazing. I love the council of Elrond and how it is detachable. There are a couple downsides to this set though. I was missing a piece thankfully it was just one of the floor tiles so I could move on while I waited for it to ship though I still think I accidentally lost it.
The most beautiful set Lego has ever made!

Lego really did well with this one. As a huge Lord of the Rings fan, I was thrilled that they were bringing Lord of the Rings back! The attention to detail on the build is amazing! The minifigure selection is perfect too. I would have liked to see a more detailed variety of hair pieces on the minifigures like we see in the old Lord of the Rings sets. Other then that small complaint, Lego really has out done themselves!

Whether you are a fan of Lord of the Rings or just building LEGO in general this is the perfect LEGO set. As a Lord of the Rings fan, the attention to detail is incredible, creating a beautiful accent piece for my living room. As a LEGO fan the build was never boring. The designers building techniques are very creative and make for an exciting build bag after bag. On top of this you get a great variety of mini-figures including the fellowship and some additional elves and dwarves. While a bit pricier, I think the end result is well worth the price - making it one of the best LEGO sets I have ever built.
Great set but the price is ridiculous…

Lego has to get it together. The price of the sets is ridiculous. Who is buying this ? It’s plastic with some licensing fees. Everyone should stop buying until they lower their prices. Ridiculous.
Best build!

Wow. I absolutely loved this build. It’s by far the best that I have done and even if you aren’t a LOTR fan I still think that many would enjoy the build, even if you don’t get all the easter eggs. I loved doing this and it looks amazing.
Very cool

Love how the designers came up with solutions for this build. I constructed it over 1 week (while rewatching LOTR with my wife). It was a surprise birthday present for me and I love it.
Almost Perfect

This was only my 4th ever Lego set, and it was generally a joy to build. It's really beautiful and vibrant with fabulous little details. I only have one small gripe, and that is having to add details such as tables and weapons racks at the end of the build. My hands are too large to fit in most of the rooms, which meant I was knocking pieces out rather than putting them in! I don't see why all of these details can't be done as the rooms are being constructed, to save me saying quite a few swears!
Great set, missing pieces again

Lego should really check into their quality control. Missing pieces is becoming too much of an issue.
So many missing pieces

The set is beautiful and I would have really enjoyed the build if not for all the missing pieces. Bag after bag after bag had pieces missing. I've had to submit so many requests for replacements and Frankenstein the set with spare bricks so I can keep going. Extremely disappointing for the amount of money this costs.
Awesome experience

Love the set and enjoyed putting it together, the roof of the central part was tricky for me to attach at the end, but I’m newer to big sets so I’m sure it was just me having issues. Overall amazing build

First off this was a gift to me from my kids. They got me the LOTR Rivendell set (as I am a very, very big LOTR fan). Havent done anything with legos since I was a kid (aside from playing with them with my kids). This model was amazing- from the build quality to the detail. The instruction manual (for the complexity of the build) is simple and straight forward. The final construction is solid, amazingly detailed and quite nice to view. I enjoyed it so much that I went out and bought myself the "Barad Dur" set. If it was possible I would get the lego designers and engineers to design my house- as I am certain that their attention to detail and build quality would far surpass any home builder. Truly an amazing gift and experience. I only hope they introduce more LOTR sets of this complexity. Great job LEGO!!

Rivendell is genuinely a marvel of LEGO design and innovation. I was constantly blown away at how fantastic of a model it is. The building techniques in every section/part of the build are good at worst and genius at best. In addition, nothing can prepare you for this model's sheer scale and size. Another fun fact about my personal experience is that the set took me roughly 12 hours across a few sessions, the runtime of the LOTR trilogy. I was only a casual fan of the series before receiving this set, but now I am obsessed with everything Middle-Earth. The figure selection is fantastic. I have nothing bad to say about this model except that every set I build after won't live quite up to Rivendell.
A beautiful, almost faultless, set

Such a fantastic and lovely set to build. My only gripe is the amount of roofing that you have to do, whilst it looks stunning it's so fiddly. Immediately went out and bought Bara-dûr before even finishing the build. Can't wait to see what Lego (hopefully) come out with in 2025.
