Lifetime Speed Shift 50" Portable Basketball Hoop

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had a fun time assembling this with my son(5th grader). Lifetime video was helpful. It was easy to follow and looks steady. I definitely recommend this product.

Overall the hoop functions as expected. It’s easy to adjust and move. Construction on the rim was disappointing, as it was not centered well when welded.

We bought this as a birthday gift for our grandson and he loves it! Was not overly difficult to assemble. It was well packaged without a lot of extra fill material.

My kids are having a lot of fun they appreciate the easy height adjustment!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I brought this for Christmas gift to my wife. packaging was very good. set-up was another story. not the easiest to assemble, because U-Tube instruction and paper instruction are different and confusing.

While assembling the basketball system, in step 2.4, the DSA bolt broke, leaving part of it inside the BTS barrel nut. I was tightening it by hand and it broke, now making it impossible to properly assemble. Could you please send me one DSA bolt and a BTS barrel nut so I can complete the installation and replace the defective piece?

It took me long time to assemble this and found some parts not working. They need to label the parts in a better way.

Easy for kids ro adjust the height, sturdy. Very happy with it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I kept reading that assembly for basketball hoops in general (except for those that advertise easy assembly) could be tricky, difficult & time consuming, but I couldn't understand why. Well, now I know! Instructions aren't very clear, they show incorrect number of "holes" or placement for parts etc.... Instructions will indicate to utilize a certain labeled bag, but then you need pieces from a different bag that isn't even referenced under that step! In addition to tools indicated you need in instructions, it is VERY helpful if you utilize a ratchet / socket set especially an air ratchet / socket set! Must have at least 2 adults to put together and about 4 + hours! Not even kidding! We are mechanically savvy, but the directions will confuse you at one point or another. Initially you will think I'm crazy, as the 1st part is simple and goes by quickly, it's not until you get further along that you begin to realize why others have complained about the assembly as well. Overall, once assembled and weighted down, the basketball hoop is great, works as intended and is good quality. Do yourself a favor and figure out where you intend on putting the hoop once assembled and if it is in an area that needs leveling, do that 1st!!! Trust me, you will thank me later! If you plan on moving the unit in the future, don't weigh with sand, use water or gel product commonly sold online. If you live in a climate that gets cold, consider antifreeze with water for base (even though Lifetime indicates you don't need anti-freeze, better safe than sorry!) If you aren't mechanically inclined, hire someone to assemble!!!

Unfortunately, there were missing pieces in our box, however it was very easy to order new ones. Customer service was great

I just purchased a portable basketball hoop. Went together relatively easily and just had one of the net hooks on the rim break off. Just one call and a replacement rim is on its way!

To get the larger bolts through all the pipes, I had to re-drill all the holes with my step drill to enlarge them. Really??? Could you not drill them a little larger? Is that such a big deal?? The problem is well known because when I called the 1-800 number they were aware of the problem.

I had a bolt break in assembly for a Christmas Present with days to go, Vanessa was extremely helpful and even got my shipping upgraded to 2 day so I would be able to assemble the basketball system in time

Bought the basketball street hoop over four years ago and they were quick and more than willing to stand by the warranty and shipped replacement parts right out to me.

After using for 3 months I noticed from the sides that the backboard is bowed. Qaulity of backboard material is terrible. It should never bow. What a piece of junk. I would not recommend buying this Lifetime(Should be called Notime) basketball hoop!
