[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Motorola sent me this product for free in exchange for my honest review. First thoughts are that it is easy to set up, also portable (camera has about a 3 hr charge) if you need to move the camera to another room for a little while you can without having to plug it in. Picture quality is a little grainy but I don't feel that would keep me from purchasing this product. I can still see exactly what I need too. Gets a good range without constantly disconnecting like other monitors we have had. Sound quality is perfect and I like that it has 2 way communication.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This baby monitors is exactly what we needed. We had one from a different brand that's signal was terrible and disappointed us. This Motorola monitor has amazing signal, and the battery lasts such a long time! We are very happy with this monitor!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The product is true to its promise, the battery comes for like around 3hrs, I like the zooming feature and its clarity. I had other device which two way of talking stopped working after some days, I would be monitoring this device for the same feature. Overall love the product!

    Huge Disappointment

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My first child recently turned one and we were eager for an upgraded monitor from our existing Eufy Securiry closed system. We figured with a trusted brand like Motorola behind this product, we'd get exactly that, but unfortunately this product is lacking in quality to the point of being classified as junk. The parent monitor is lightweight, thin and portable, but I would place a big asterisk on "portable" as the battery life on this thing is stated as only five hours. Real life experience clocked us in at about 4 hours. Our existing eufy system lasts unplugged for two nights. The buttons on the device are clunky and have a terribly slow response time. One annoying quirk is that every time you power on the unit, you receive a weird ad for the app. You can press the menu button to supposedly disable, but it pops up every time. The functionality is there-sleep timers work as expected, volume and thermometer are fine, but that's a pretty low bar that you would hope a unit at any price point would clear. Now on to the camera-easily the absolute worst feature of the device. The picture quality-particularly in night mode, is absolute atrocious. I've seen better resolution on tube TVs from the 90s, and that's not an exaggeration. The colors don't pop at all, and at night the image appears fuzzy and pixelated as if not maintaining a signal. Our bedroom is on the other side of the wall from our son's and the quality is bad there and everywhere else in the house. The only thing the camera has going for it is its near-360 motion. I can actually move it around while my son crawls around his room, even if the image captured resembles a 16-bit video game. Back to the parent unit-it took us dozens of tries and nearly breaking the device to deploy the antenna. We were hoping the quality would improve but it didn't. The app connects fine but is essentially useless with such an awful interface and picture quality. Avoid at all costs.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like this monitor because you can connect to an app on the phone or use it with the monitor it came with. The image quality isn't super clear but I love the ability to rotate the camera (up&down, 360 around). I can keep an eye on my kiddo when he's asleep in bed and still have access to my phone. Really easy set up and usage!

Great for traveling, short lasting battery

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm torn about this camera it has some great features and some not so great features. Pros: the camera itself is rechargeable, making it perfect for traveling when you might not always have a plug available. The camera is very easy to set up and connects seamlessly to the screen. I saw some reviews saying that the camera would disconnect often, but I did not have that experience. The camera also has a wide lens which allows you to set it up essentially anywhere in the room while still allowing you to see most of it. The base of the camera is also sturdy enough to stand on its own. It does have the option to screw it into w tripod type stand. The quality of the device itself is great. The camera and the screen feel sturdy. Cons: The video quality is not great. The image is very grainy. Both the battery of the camera and the screen last approximately 2 hours which is not ideal if you are somewhere over night that does not have a plug near by. I would recommend it as a second monitor set to have in the diaper bag for travel but would not recommend it as the main monitor.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the product for free in exchange for writing a honest review** this monitor is super nice. I like the screen and size a lot. I do think when you move the camera it lags a little more than some other brands I've tried but it is still nice. Good sound quality. There are some lights on the camera that I was worried would distract my baby at night bc they are pretty prominent and bright but he didn't seem phased by it luckily.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It is a nice set up. Easy to plug in and start using. I like how you can move the camera and have the camera on or off. The temperature is also really handy. I'm not a fan of the night mode where it goes black and white. Not sure why, but ours keeps going back and forth between day and night modes and I can't control that. If the remote/viewer is dropped - there may be lines through the video and you can barely make anything out. However, if you restart everything it'll likely fix the problem. Overall, it's not perfect, but for a cheaper video monitor it's pretty decent.

    Failed pairing with cellphone

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used Wyze and Miku baby monitors and they work fine but wanted to try Motorola for their ease of use. The camera came with easy to follow instructions. Camera paired seamlessly with the monitor. I usually monitor my toddler from living room across the bedroom. Camera view is better than other baby cams, it's cleaner and has negligible lag. The biggest issue I encountered was that I couldn't pair it with my cellphone. And tried contacting the customer support team twice but they shared the same instructions mentioned in the information booklet. I really wish it connects with my cellphone for the white noise options that are offered on mobile app.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This camera and monitor has been so amazing. I love how the camera can be relocated from room to room once it's charged. No hassle with plugging in and turning on, you can charge the camera with the adapter it comes with and move it wherever you like. The monitor screen is nice and large with a nice and clear view of the area. There is a microphone option where you can speak into the monitor and the sound comes out of the camera. You can pan the camera with 4 different arrow buttons on the monitor to survey the room. I highly recommend this Motorola VM36XL camera/monitor set! I received this product for free in exchange for an honest review.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Motorola kindly gave me this VM36XL Video Baby Monitor for free so that I could review it. Currently I have been using this product for two weeks. This is a mobile WiFi free camera and it works pretty great. The product was easy to set up and can be portable if needed. The camera tablet is easy to use. Some of the features it includes is playing preset music and sounds, moving the camera and having the ability to zoom in, a microphone and temperature reading. The camera and sound does have a slight lag. Overall this is a great afforable baby monitor and I would recommend to parents who are looking for a simple Wifi free camera.

    Great as an extra/travel monitor

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thanks for the free baby monitor, Motorola. I love the textured back of the screen, it makes it less prone to dropping from slipping out of my hand (I've dropped my other one a million times). I wouldn't use this as my primary monitor because the red light on the camera is really bright and the base of the camera is bulky, but it's perfect for bringing on trips as a travel monitor. The video display automatically turns off after a certain amount of time, which you can set, but I like having the screen on my monitor on for longer than the choices available (30 min max). This is a good feature to save the battery, but my toddler takes forever to go to sleep and I want to be able to see what she's doing. The manual wasn't very helpful, so I had to just press a bunch of buttons until I figured out how to use the features. Not a big deal, but a little bit of a time investment. Love that it doesn't require WiFi and that the camera can be moved!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I didn't think it would be a good quality the camera but prove me wrong. I never owned a camera before so this is new to me. Love the camera moves around with pressing on the monitor. The monitor is a good size to view your baby or toddler. I love the volume control and so cool that you can talk to baby. It isn't HD but you can see good even at night.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We originally decided we didn't need a video monitor, so we just registered for an audio one. However, there were times when I thought being able to see inside the nursery would have been helpful, especially when my daughter was transitioning between active and deeper sleep. For this reason, I was very excited when BzzAgent offered the opportunity to test out the Motorola VM36XL. This is a base-level model without all the bells and whistles, such as Wi-Fi/app access or a mounting bracket. The picture quality is not the greatest, but it provides some comfort for us to be able to see our daughter while she is sleeping. One of my favorite features is the temperature sensor. My daughter's room is always different than the rest of the house so I would wonder if it was too hot or cold. Still, if I was going to purchase a video monitor, I would probably spend a little more for a higher-quality unit. Because the quick start guide only covered the physical buttons, not any menus, it took a bit to figure out the display panel and all the options. There was not a printed copy of the full user guide. We didn't realize the monitor had a zoom option until my husband found it just by playing around. I was also not aware of the power-saving mode. The first time I unplugged the parent unit to take it to a different room, I saw the 5 minutes message. I originally thought this meant how much battery life it had and figured there had to be a defect if it only lasted five minutes not plugged in. It took a few times before I realized the display was turning off to save the battery and you could easily turn it back on.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the size, I love the clear display, I love the range and that there isn't as much interference as my old monitor brand. My only gripe is that it is just too quiet! I can't hear my daughter when she is just lightly waking, instead she needs to be yelling or wailing for me to notice. I do like that it is almost silent when she is sleeping and gets slightly louder when she makes a fuss though. I think that feature is helpful for new moms especially to help them get rest in the early days with baby. I do wish this model had the option for WiFi and I was disappointed when it told me to download the Motorola nursery app because there is no real benefit without WiFi.
