Motorola Nursery VM85 CONNECT Wi-Fi Video Baby Monitor

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When using this products with my newborn baby I mostly wanted it to check on her while she's in her bassinet, and I'm out in the kitchen doing my daily chores. But it was a bit difficult to distinguish the room around her and see my baby clearly in her bassinet. It also went a little slow with or without internet. I think there are better products out there especially for the price. It was good to hear and move the monitor around if your in a different room, but it goes slow and you can hear the baby crying in the other room before the monitor.

A lot of people are iffy about wifi cameras so I like that this monitor can be used with or without WiFi access. I love being about to grab the large monitor and see my child without grabbing for my phone. The picture quality on the monitor with the light on is great-as shown in the video below. The photo uploaded is a night time mode view. The quality is even better on a phone or tablet screen. The volume gets loud and I love that I can talk back and forth with my kids. The nightlight and temperature are a nice touch too! The other cameras I have used did not have video recording so I think that is awesome! I would recommend to friends!

I actually had to use it in a different setting than intended but the set up was so easy it worked! Our A/C went out and we had to stay at my in-laws for the night. We just received the monitor the night before so I was able to set it up at their house. It was easy to connect to my phone and WIFI. As someone who wasn't keen on a WIFI monitor, it worked wonderful and it was easy to see my son. We brought it home once we got our A/C fixed and it is our primary monitor now. I do like the monitor or phone functions to watch him! The light on the camera itself was not too bright but just dim enough that it was a small nightlight! I will definitely be using this for a long time!

The picture quality is more clear than I was expecting, and the sound is easy to hear. The monitor is easy to use and carry around. The battery lasts a decent amount of time as well. Overall this is a good camera at a good price range to keep an eye on little ones.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We used this baby monitor for our 2nd baby and it is a good, budget friendly baby monitor. The first monitor we had only paired with the portable unit, but this one pairs with the app as well. That was a huge plus for us as we could check from our phones. Overall, the monitor does its job. The only downsides is that it does have a slight delay from the camera. Also, a nice additional feature would be to store the history on the app, but understand that may have additional costs. I did receive this product in exchange for reviewing the motorola VM85.

The added features of a high-sensitivity microphone that alerts us once our baby starts crying and the assortment of calming music lullabies are also much appreciated. Highly recommend!

The camera quality is good, providing clear images during the day and acceptable night vision. The two-way audio feature is also helpful for calming the baby from another room. Some of the pros are that you can really zoom in and get a close view of the crib/bed, you can control the tilt of the camera remotely is awesome, the ability to talk through the monitor is really useful, and the music/story feature was a nice bonus! Some of the cons are that you can't zoom out to see more of the room, the plug in cord to the camera is a bit short, and there is a slight delay. Night view is better than the day view, but both are good. Overall, it is a great and reliable baby monitor and would recommend it!

I originally couldn't find extra cameras and reached out to the company, they put me in the right direction immediately! I 100% will be buying additional cameras in the future! The sound, the picture, and the camera are great quality. Something you don't normally get. I spent about the same amount of money on a Vtech, it included no app, bad picture, ans even the sound seemed to crackle. I hands down would buy this motorola camera again! Thank you!

It also has some great features like a light glow from the monitor and camera. It also has lovely lullabies to fall asleep to. I definitely am looking into getting a second one for my daughters room. The only thing that wasn't so great was the set up process. Other than that this product is perfect all around. I'd definitely recommend this product to family and friends.

I have the Nanit and it is much more difficult to set up, plus it requires password protected wifi so I could never use it when I stayed in hotels. I love the Motorola for travel and might consider getting a second one for more kids.

PROS: -easy to set up -large monitor -the app seems easy enough to use CONS: -the picture is fine, but pretty grainy it's not the best but it does the job Now for the reason for my 3 star rating, it has HORRIBLE lag. Anywhere from 5-10 seconds. I don't know about you, but If you have a toddler, you know a lot of damage can get done in that time frame. Compared to our Mooneybaby with 2 360 cameras that can be controlled through the monitor, this is far less superior. -

I had previously used a monitor from a different brand that did not have the ability to connect to WiFi. I love that this camera comes with a monitor and that I also have the ability to view the camera from the Motorola Nursery app on my phone. I don't always walk around with the monitor, so it is nice to be able to check in on my little one from my phone and also get notifications when there is noise in his room. The app also allows you to talk to your baby, as well as take pictures and videos. The monitor has a nice, large screen and appears to have a decent battery life, but I always plug mine in at night so that I don't risk it running out of battery when I'm sleeping. You can also speak to your baby through the monitor; however, the sound is often delayed and seems to cut out. I don't use this feature often though so it's not a deal breaker for me. There are soothing lights around the camera that you have the ability to control, and you can play music through the camera as well. Great features worth trying if your baby is having a hard time settling down. Overall, it's a nice baby monitor at a more affordable price than many of its competitors. I would recommend!
