PetSafe Stay and Play Wireless Adjustable Fence for Stubborn Dogs - Black

I have had this for 2 years now. This might be the best dog purchase I have ever made. I looked at putting an inground fence in. Got scared of the price, figured for the price of this unit I should give it a shot. I am so glad I did. My dog loves to be outside and can spend hours outside at a time and I never have to worry. This fence has never failed once on me.

I can't really rate this one, as I have been afraid to put the collars on my dogs. I had a previous unit that gave us many years of excellent service. Then my county allowed windmills to be installed close to my home. That unit then malfunctioned, with a melt line down the outside of the plug. My dogs had been acting up, as if they were getting shocked even though they were within the boundaries. I believe the windmills are interfering with the wifi units. Fortunately, using the collars for all these years, my dogs have honored the boundaries that had been established by the original unit. I might put the collars on them with just the beep, but I'm afraid it will still cause them anxiety if it starts alerting randomly. But for 6 years, the previous unit was excellent.

I've had the Stay and play system for probably about ten years or so and never had an issue with it. I would highly recommend. It's great, you can adjust your boundaries and the strength of the collars. If you want to add an extra collar to the system you can. I have two collars connected to mine. The collars I have are, one regular and one for stubborn dogs. My dogs are so use to the boundary, I can leave the collars off of them for a week or two and they still will not pass it. Anytime we go on vacation and are able to bring the dogs, we will bring our system with us. We've taken it to the beach and a cabin in the mountains. Once my dogs hear the beep they will run back to the porch. I have a small breed dog that is 15lbs and larger dog that is about 65lbs.

Doesn't last, don't waste your time or money. Collar does not respond to crossing boundary.

I’ve had my pet safe system 10 years. Flawless! My dog will not leave yard with it without collar now. I just ordered new batteries! Easy to train your dog 2/4 days once done you can rest easy! I just wish I had it for my previous dogs.

We bought the stay and play wire fence about 4 years ago and wow! I can let both of our Labrador's out for hours, and the stay in the yard. We have 1 acre and they can roam most of it. Best thing we ever bought for our dogs!! They transmitter pooped out after 4 years so we just bought another one today. I'm so glad we found this product.

We’ve used this for probably a year now and our kid respects her boundaries. She is an 18 month old pit boxer mix. She did go through it a couple of times at first, but now she won’t go near the beeps and if she does she turns around right away. One time she got zapped it wasn’t her fault. I didn’t realize the collar had almost died so about two weeks in a row she did what she wanted to. That’s when my husband said the collar was in the red zone. Well, she got zapped after I charged it, but since that day, she’s been fine and I pay attention to the colors of the blinks now. The thing I don’t like is it has to be a circle. Because of our neighbors, we don’t get the full 3/4 acre. I’d go to petsafe and plot your property before buying cause we get very little room for her in our back yard due to the circular ring. We can’t even add a second one because of how our lots are set up. It really sucks, but at least she has a lot of room in the front yard and she has not gone after bikers, walkers or even animals. So, because of the circular feature, it only gets 4 stars.

We had great success with our original Petsafe wireless system but once we upgraded to the newest version with the rechargeable collars instead of the replaceable batteries they only beep and won't vibrate. Our 11 year old lab does pretty good minding the beeps since he's been using this type of system for 9 years, but our youngest dog just runs right out of the boundary without a threat of a vibration. Frustrated and disappointed this time around.

I have used this for years for all my dogs BUT when the electric goes out the collar starts beeping and shocking my poor dogs. I wonder how many times this has happened when I wasn’t home to take off their collars immediately and had to endure this horrible experience…… battery backup on the unit should be added to prevent this from happening.

We live on 6 acres amongst the forest and an above fence is out of the question. I bought this with reservation as my Boston Terrier loves to run. He caught on to the invisible fence in 1 day, I was thrilled. He stays a foot behind the flag, he had one occurrence where he thought he could chase the chickens but came back inside his boundary within seconds. For 2 days he has been running, playing, swimming in the pond and totally staying in his yard. What a great fence.

I have had this fence for about a month now. My dog is 7 months old and I needed him to stay in the yard without the cost of an actual fence or having to put wires in. I saw this and thought I would give it a try. I am so happy with this product. It took no time at all to set up. Maybe half an hour to see how far the different settings went and a couple days for my dog to get used to the fence. I feel very comfortable sending him outside without me knowing he won't leave the yard. I only ever had to put the settings on level two! Great alternative to other fence options.

So far this has really worked for both of our dogs who are very stubborn. They both like to run off and they both stay in our yard now.

We have been disappointed with the performance of the Stay & Play Wireless Fence for Stubborn dogs. The boundary varies more than we expected from day to day, making it difficult for the dogs to understand where their limits are. The beepers on both collars are not very loud making it difficult for us to hear as we are training the dogs, especially when there is additional noise (i.e. cars driving by, birds chirping, etc.).

We had to return it, we borrowed our neighbors and our lab was terrified. She wouldn’t come out of the house. I didn’t even open the box.

I just got this in the mail and charged everything and went to set it up. No matter what the dial is set to it won’t let you get 4ft away from the base without the collar going off

We bought this system about a year ago. We had relocated with our 6 year old Cane Corso from a home with a privacy fenced yard to our place on the lake without any fence. Unable to really have a fence, we had been taking her out on the leash and going out with her unleashed often as there aren’t many full time residents on our dead end st. She has always for the most part minded pretty well and a super friendly dog. Recently we returned from a trip to Mexico , while we were away we boarded her. Not sure what transpired over those 10 days but we got back a different dog lol. She refused to listen, started using the bathroom on the floor when she rarely ever had an accident before, she would also go out but , wonder off and absolutely refuse to come back in We decided it was finally time to pull the stay and play system out. Let me tell you, this thing is 100% the truth! I personally tested the system on max correction by sprinting from my front door to the boundary zone I was laid out so fast felt like I got dropped by Tyson Fury. We then put the collar on the dog and started the training, I’m sure that the training is different with every dog but our girl got one good zap and believe it or not that’s all it took. Now every time she hears the beep she stops and retreats. She has also returned back to normal habits in and out of the house. The Stay and Play was like the exorcism of something possessed. She is a good dog again now. Thanks Petsafe!

I have used this for 5 years now. I did have to purchase a replacement after about 3 years. However, this product has contained my dogs wonderfully! I have 6 pups and all 6 were easily trained with this. I purchased the stubborn dog because I have 2 that like to chase the deer that come into my yard, I am on 6 acres, but use to contain them to 1/2 acre, which is plenty of running room. I have watched my dog stop in her tracks when she nears the border, even if there is a deer within 30 feet of her. She has not broken the border. I do have a GSD that has broken the border, but he realizes it when shocked and stops and comes back. I highly recommend this product!

Charges quickly. User friendly and our dog was quick to learn the boundaries. We walked him around with a leash. I couldn't hear the warning sound but my wife could. Nice product. Just remember it's a boundary device for your animal,, not other animals.

I have two German Shepherd's who have separation anxiety and always find a way to escape when we leave. We have not used the system yet while we are away but can already see that it’s going to work if they get out of their kennel. Works great, fairly easy to use, highly recommended.
