Description

Pure glass bottle gift set with silicone sleeves. Philips Avent Glass Natural bottle with the Natural Response nipple lets baby control the pace of the milk, like they do when breastfeeding. The nipples' unique opening and tip only releases milk when your baby actively drinks. When pausing to swallow and breathe no milk flows. Baby can drink, swallow, and breathe using their natural rhythm, just like they do when breastfeeding. Easily combine breast and bottle feeding with a wide breast-shaped nipple with a soft feel that mimics the shape and feel of a breast; plus baby controlling the flow of milk like they do when breastfeeding. The nipple has a no-drip design which helps prevent lost milk from the tip. An anti-colic valve integrated into the nipple is designed to reduce colic and discomfort by sending air away from your baby's tummy. The ergonomic shape makes it comfortable for parents to hold. This Natural Philips Avent bottle is made of premium quality borosilicate glass, a BPA free material. It is heat and thermal shock resistant, so it can be safely stored in the fridge, warmed and is easy to wash and sterilize. Includes are silicone sleeves to protect the bottle while making it easy for parents to hold. Assembly is simple with only a few parts and the wide bottle neck makes filling and cleaning easy. The Natural response nipples come in flow rates 1-5, to keep up with your baby's growth. We recommend using the Philips Avent Natural baby bottle with Philips Avent Natural bottle nipples. Includes: 3 4oz Glass Natural bottle with Natural Response nipple flow 2, 8oz Glass Natural bottle with Natural Response nipple flow 3, 1 4oz bottle sleeve, 1 8oz bottle sleeve. SCD858/01

What to expect when introducing the Philips Avent Natural Response Nipple:

-It's totally natural for your baby to take 2-3 tries to get milk flowing from a new bottle. Unlike traditional bottles the Natural bottle is designed to only release milk when your baby is actively drinking, like what happens when babies breastfeed.

-We have 5 different nipple flow rates for the Natural bottle. When looking for the right nipple flow rate, age is a guide, but your baby's approach to drinking and the feeding cues they will show will help determine when to move to a higher or lower nipple flow rate.

Packaging uses greater than 50% plastic alternative, FSC-certified paper, with great potential to be widely circular for majority of product packaging.

Q: Are these glass bottles compatible with the breast pump philips avent?

submitted by monica - 3 years ago
  • A: Hello! No, the Philips Avent Electric Breast Pump is compatible with all Philips Avent storage cups with adapter and bottles in the Philips Avent Natural range. To avoid milk leaking, we advise not to use glass bottles with breast pumps.

submitted byPhilips - 3 years ago
    Brand expert
  • A: They are indeed compatible in size, but because of the weight of the bottles it is not recommended.

submitted byWP - 2 years ago
  • A: I use my glass bottles with my spectra to pump directly all the time. Have not had any problems. The only cons is that it’s glass so it’s heavier and have to hold it.

Q: How should I clean these bottles? Do I need to boil them to sterilize?

submitted by PGup - 3 months ago
  • A: Hello! Before first use Disassemble all parts, clean and then sterilize the parts by placing in boiling water for 5 minutes or sterilize by using a Philips Avent sterilizer. This is to ensure hygiene.

submitted byPhilips Consumer Care - 3 months ago
  • A: Hello! Clean all parts before each use to ensure hygiene. After each use, disassemble all parts, wash in warm, soapy water, remove any food residues and rinse thoroughly. If you use a brush to clean the nipple tip, clean it as carefully as possible to avoid damage. Then sterilize using a Philips Avent sterilizer or boil for 5 minutes. Make sure that you wash your hands thoroughly and that the surfaces are clean before contact with sterilized components. During sterilization with boiling water, prevent the parts from touching the side of the pot.

Q: Do these come with lids to cover the nipple? If not, can lids be purchased separately?

submitted by Mom 2 Girls - 3 years ago
  • A: Good to know: you do not need the lids to close these bottles. The cap is designed to close the nipple of so it will not leak. The Natural Response nipples will in fact not even leak without the cap.

submitted byWP - 2 years ago
  • A: Hello! No, this set does not come with nipple cover. The lids are available when the nipples are purchased separately.

Q: Is the size 3 nipple for 1M+?

submitted by Sammy - 24 days ago
  • A: Hi there! The Natural Response nipples work differently. These nipples only release milk when babies are actively drinking. These nipples can be chosen based on the baby's preference for pace (slower or faster). Every baby is unique and will have their own drinking rhythm. The nipple navigation that is shown on the product packs, therefore, doesn’t focus on the age, but on flow rate from extra slow to extra fast.

I ordered this product for pickup at target. We opened this product and realized it has only 2 small bottles not 3. Not sure if it's company's fault or i got the used bottles. Also my baby is having hard time to get milk out of these. He kept sucking for 20 mins and only got like 5 ml.

We only bottle feed on days I’m working. Other than that, we’re exclusively breast. These bottles are great (and he does really well with them), they just unfortunately have enforced a super shallow latch when we go back to breast :( If we wanted to transition to only bottle, this would be our winner. But for other working mamas who are mainly breast, there are better options out there!

Newborn babies tend to follow the same pattern when breastfeeding as they do while bottle-feeding. We recommend watching your baby’s cues to find the best nipple flow rate. The Philips Avent Natural Response nipples are available in flow rates from 1 to 5 in the United States and Canada and from 1 to 6 in other countries. Nipples with the highest flow rate 6 are more suitable for thicker liquids or babies who want a fast flow. Enthusiastic babies use strong suction and compression while drinking, resulting in greater milk flow. Therefore, they usually need a lower nipple flow, such as nipple number 1 or 2, to avoid overflow. Slow and steady drinking babies are likely to prefer a higher nipple flow (such as nipple number 4 or 5/6) to ensure enough milk flows, regardless of age. Start with the nipple that comes with the bottle and adjust from there. If you have no success after a few feeding attempts, change to a different nipple flow rate. Use a higher flow rate if your baby falls asleep during feeding, gets frustrated, or plays with the nipple instead of drinking. Use a lower flow rate if your baby is gulping the milk down or if milk drips out of its mouth during feeding. Glass bottles are great ~ we do not use the nipple that comes with these bottles as it was not recommended by our lactation consultant who wanted to make sure we promoted a wide latch for our breastfeeding baby. We use wide + balance Evenflo nipples on these bottles and it works perfectly (minus the cover ~ that doesn’t fit with the different nipple so we just rest it on top instead of closing it all the way)

I wanted to go with these bottles because they worked great in the past for my previous babies but sadly no milk comes out of any size nipples not 1 or 2 or 3 !! In the end I wasted so much pumped breast milk because my baby wouldn’t be able to finish in time for poor milk flow . Find another brand dr.browns on the other hand size nipple 1 milk flow came out too fast and my 1 month would get all wet . FYI if someone wants to go with them lol .
1 reply from Philips team - 6 months ago
Hi Lidia, We are sorry to hear about your experience with the Avent Bottles. The Natural Response Nipple is different because it works like the breast, the flow is controlled by baby. Milk flow stops and starts based on your baby's drinking rhythm. For some babies it can take a few tries to get used to a nipple that doesn't always free-flow. If you have tried the same nipple a few times with little or no success, it may mean your baby needs a different nipple flow. Babies that have tried traditional baby bottle nipples, where the milk flows without pausing, might need a higher nipple flow with the Natural Response Nipple. If you have any further questions, please feel free to get in touch via social media. We're available 24/7 on Facebook and X. Alternatively, you can reach out to us via the contact page on our website. One of our colleagues will then try their best to help you further. Kind regards, Philips Consumer Care

Avent glass bottles are high quality and do not break easily. I feel better knowing my baby will be exposed to less microplastics using these. They are quite heavy - a younger baby would likely be unable to hold the 8oz themselves vs the plastic version - and I think for the price, they really ought to come with the same number of silicone sleeves as bottles since they’re quite cheap to make. Nevertheless, I would recommend these. They clean better than plastic and are surprisingly aesthetically pleasing.

Received these as a gift for our baby. I love that they’re glass. However we’ve tried levels 1, 2, and 3 for my 2 week old and it took forever just for her to get 10 mL and by then she was tuckered out from trying so hard. Super unfortunate that we will have to try another brand. I wanted to love these so bad.

I love that these bottles are glass and you can get varying sizes in this pack. We found that our baby girl was taking a long time to finish a bottle. Our lactation consultant told us it was likely the number one flow nipple and recommended going up one flow level. It still seems a little harder than some other bottles, but better than Dr Brown bottles that we felt flowed too quickly. One of the 8 oz bottles was shattered on the side. Philips customer service was great and replaced it. There was no cracking of the glass from the inside, so there was no harm to the baby.

I purchased these two years ago with my first. Loved them, vest glass option out there in my opinion. I purchased them again for my second and nothing cane through the bottle nipples. Any of them. I thought maybe I got a defective batch. Opened a different box that had been gifted to me and same issue unfortunately. With different flow nipples too. They shouldn't be perforated or stretched either as flow has to be consistent with infant stage. I really hope manufacturer fixes this issue. They really were my favorite bottles.

We liked them for the most part but 4 months of daily use and wash the tops are starting to chip which is so dangerous to have glass chipping on something your baby is eating out of. No one wants their baby to consume glass.

Love the glass and ease of cleaning. However there must be some manufacturing defect I bought two starter packs and both had some bottles that the glass was cracked and then my store quit carrying them. I was able to get one full set and returned the defective set. I don’t have problems with leakage but I did learn the nipple valve does have to be aligned perfectly with the dimple on the nipple ring, not sure if that helps with leakage- I’ve had none or I wouldn’t recommend.
