submitted byDog mom - 10 months agoA: If the locking mechanism all of a sudden gets stuck we recommend hitting it with the sole of a shoe or something like that to help loosen it.

Q: The locking mechanism has stopped working. I can slide it side to side but the turn knob to get the smaller adjustments will NOT turn. I’ve tried hitting it like it was suggested but it is not budging. How can I get this to work again?

Q: Does this gate absolutely need to sit flat on the floor, or can it sit several inches off the floor if the pressure mounts are secure on both sides? FYI, the gate wouldn't incur any outside pressure.

TERRIBLE gate, does not stay up even with wall cups. I wish I would’ve kept the packing so it could be retuned. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

The gate works fine, stays in place, and works as intended. But with a curious little one, they may try to stick their hand through. And the hand may get stuck Luckily I was able to get my daughter’s hand out on my own but I was very close to not being able to get it out. Warning for those using it for little ones!

We bought this for a 7 lb dog. He can climb it and get over easily. If a dog can do that, I can’t imagine a child wouldn’t do the same.

I bought this gate specifically because I needed a pressure mounted gate for my rental apartment. When I read the instructions after receiving it states you MUST use the wall cups and the wall cups can only be drilled into the wall/door frame! Why would you market this as pressure mounted if it requires hardware! Also the tightening mechanism is trash.

Didn't work at all. Unlevel. Width units are more than .5 inches apart so making it fit in your gap is near impossible. The only way this would remotely work is if you munted it into your wall which defeats the purpose of a pressure gate. Images on site and it's packaging show it mounted with crown molding, but even if you hardware mounted this it would never work that way. It's just bad Photoshop. Materials are the flimsiest plastic and would be unable to hold the weight of a small child or medium sized dog touching it or pressing against it.

We have this gate along with several other gates that screw in to the wall. I would not use on any stairs or places you need to frequently step over, as the gate does not have a door, but it’s great if you have an area of the house you want to keep your children or pets out of that you don’t need frequent access. I like that we can move it around as needed and it does expand pretty wide.

Buying my 3rd one today! If you follow the directions it works perfectly. My toddler is strong and it stops him. Plus, our 100 pound dog doesn’t jump it. The cat can get over it. Short enough to swing your legs over! A must have!

The poor comments are a reflection of user error. Once you extend the gate, then slide the lock to the nearest hole until it clicks. Finally turn the tension knob AWAY from the lock to build tension.

Doesn't Tension Lock, Have to Install Cups into Wall. You can pull it open more, but can never get the right amount of tension because it has to clip into pre-designated holes which reduces the tension. The wall cups have to be installed for it to remotely do anything. It works for my small dog who won't climb on it, but I would absolutely never trust it for a child.
