Q: Do these filters remove lead?

A: Hi Sogoodsogood2004, Our filters do not remove lead but whey do reduce Ion exchange resin captures copper, benzene, cadmium, and zinc. Activated carbon reduces chlorine [taste and odor], limescale and mercury.

Q: How long can an unopened water filter last in the package? Would it get moldy overtime?

A: Thank you for your question! Since the package is vacuum sealed, there is no possibility of water getting into it and no chance of mold growing. Please stay away from these filters. Upon the first Up&Up filter I used in my Britta pitcher, after 5 or 6 weeks, I found mold or algae growing both on the inner side of my pitcher, as well as the bottom of the filter itself. The filters are advertised to be good for 2 months, and I wash the inside of my pitchers every time I change the filter, so it really seems like the Up&Up filter is the issue. I had been having digestive issues for the 2 weeks prior to this, but after discarding my old pitcher and these filters, and returning to Britta products, I felt great in again after 30 to 40 hours. Please protect your health and your water, and stay far away from these generic filters.

I very much appreciate being able to get two of these filters at only a dollar more than it would cost me to get one of the name brand filters. This store brand lasts a good long while and the water tastes good. My only caveat is that sometimes these filters can swell in the pitcher over time, making it difficult to get them back out again. Just whack it with a spoon and then shake the pitcher upside down, it'll come out.

I bought these because the package said that it would fit the Brita water pitchers. I just recently tried to use them and they do not fit my pitcher. The water runs right through the pitcher.

Love it! I rather have this than going to the grocery store and getting filtered water from the machine it makes you think how clean the tubes are in throes things but that’s just my opinion: I love these Up&Up brand filter I have no issues using them this is also with the private brand by target pitcher water tastes fresh and clean I like adding a small pinch of baking soda to my water for a really nice taste!
