[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thanks to Stellar Product Testing Panel for gifting me this Safety 1st Essentials Sick day Screening Kit! I’ve had several things from this brand so I know I can count on the quality of Safety 1st to be good!! I like the variety of tools the kit has, specifically super impressed with the tongue depressor that lights up, and the Otoscope! I hadn’t seen those in any kits! My favorite tool is the Otoscope because it’s such a handy tool to have on hand due to my ongoing fear of ear infections and the ease of finding out if there is one or not in the comfort of your own home. I’ve only had the kit a couple of weeks by now and (thankfully) have not had the chance to use it yet but it gives me a piece of mind knowing I have it here if /when my baby gets a little under the weather. This little kit would be such a great baby shower gift idea for that new mom anxiety!! lol I gave it a 4/5 only because I wish the nasal aspirator wasn’t the type you have to manually/orally have to suck out the boogies yourself which has always given me the heeby jeebies. I’d preferred a cleanable bulb type or even better an electronic one although I know that’s a reach!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was impressed with the quality and variety of the Safety First Essential Sick Day Screening Kit. The kit helped me monitor my son's health at home, immediately when I knew he was not feeling well. The digital thermometer was the most useful item for me as it provided quick and accurate readings. It's a handy kit to follow all kinds of symptoms and comfort them without the immediate panic of rushing to the doctor. The user-friendly design and clear instructions made it simple even for me, who gets stressed very easily. I would gift this to any parent friends, especially new parents. Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this health kit.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] While no one wants to see their children sick, it’s great to be prepared for illness, and even better to have items on hand to aid in screening for illness! This kit had great quality items that would help from checking temperature, checking ears, checking throat (tongue depressor), and nasal aspiration. While all items are very useful, I found the light up tongue depressor my favorite item in the kit as it is something that is often overlooked and perhaps not something one would typically think to have at home! When any of my little ones are not feeling well, all these items will come in handy! I would also recommend this as a great baby shower gift! Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for proving me with this health kit!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are probably the most useful tools for children’s medical care. The thing I like best is the ear scope—little ones get eat infections so frequently that this can determine whether or not you need to go seek additional medical attention or not. I highly recommend this kit for new parents as a gift! I received the product through the Stellar Product Testing Panel

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was very excited to unbox this sick day kit from Safety 1st. The kit offers a unique variety of tools to assess your little one's health that you won't find in other kits on the market. As a busy parent, it can be stressful trying to determine when your child is sick enough to require a doctor's visit. This kit helps take a great deal of guesswork out of it. I love that the kit came with a mesh bag to hold everything, making it easy to take on the go. I was most impressed with how quick and painless it was to use the rectal thermometer, something I dreaded the most when needing to take my toddler's temperature in the past. The light-up tongue depressor is such a smart addition to this kit. I was able to get a really good look at my son's throat and even take photos for reference for our doctor. I will definitely be adding this to the top of my Baby Shower gifting list. I received this kit as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As mom and a nurse practitioner, I thought this kit was very useful. I like how the otoscope was clear enough to be able to determine whether or not there was a probable ear infection, Also included in the kit was a guideline on deciphering, whether the ear was infected or normal, which was very useful. I’ve always preferred rectal thermometers so Mom may not be as comfortable using it , however This method is the most precise, especially when dealing with young children. I wasn’t too sure what the brush was for and we didn’t use it too much so maybe not necessary. Overall, the kit was great and I think it be a great gift. Every parent needs one of these in their cabinet, especially for those sick days. Thank you, Stellar for allowing me to review this product In exchange for my honest review

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thank you Stellar Product Testing Panel for giving me the opportunity to try this. I have seven children and have owned many safety kits over the years but none quite like this. I love this one as it allows screening tools to offer insight into medical problems. I have never owned an otoscope but one would have proven beneficial many times over the years. No more guessing if an earache is just that or if it is an infection or swimmers ear. The light up tongue depressor gives a great view of the back of the throat without leaving you stumbling with a spoon and a flashlight. You can also attach it to a phone so you can capture the image and show your doctor. This is a very nice feature for telehealth visits. I wish the light on the otoscope would stay on without you having to constantly hold it down. That would make it a little easier to use. I would have also liked a bigger travel pouch as I could not fit all the pieces in it. Other than this it was a very nice kit. They even included a card showing what to look for in the otoscope and a QR code is on the actual otoscope in case you need to access it. The directions were extremely thorough as well. They were a little too bulky to fit in the travel pouch as well as they included both English and Spanish directions on the same sheet. I would have preferred separate manuals. All in all I loved this and feel that every parent should have this in their medicine cabinet. It would make a great and practical gift for any new parent.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this health kit from the Stellar Product Testing Panel. Overall, this kit is useful if you like to know how your child is doing on the weekends/overnight when you’re not able to go to the doctor’s office yet. Individually, most of the items are well made and made simple enough for any parent to use. However, the kit comes with a carrying case that is too small to fit all the included items in the kit, specifically the nose aspirator. A larger case that fits all the items would make it more convenient for parents to locate the items needed. Another item that fell short was the nose aspirator. I’ve used other nose aspirator from another brand before, and the one included in the kit has to be the most difficult one to use. With other nose aspirators, the effort required by the parent/caregiver is minimal to moderate to remove the mucus from your child’s nose. Please note that I’m not a smoker and run almost every day, so my lungs are by no means weaker than the average persons. The nose aspirator included with this kit requires maximal life-saving effort to get any useful amount of suction required to remove any mucus. Aside from the items previously mentioned, the tongue depressor and the ear otoscope come with a built in light that illuminates the area being inspected very well. The rectal thermometer is short and stubby to help ensure it is inserted at the appropriate length when used. I appreciate that the batteries are included for all devices that require it to function.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This kit has everything you could possibly need when you have a sick child at home. As a nurse practitioner, I believe everyone should have this in their home and in their diaper bag. I think the most useful for me is the otoscope. It can help me determine if I need to take my baby to the doctor for antibiotics or skip the visit. It also gives piece of mind letting me know that her ear tubes are still in place. I also really like that the tongue depressor has a light in place making viewing the throat a lot easier. So checking for strep is a breeze when you can actually see what you are doing! The light is very bright, so if you have a little one that is not very cooperative you can still see what is in there in a quick fashion. This kit helped when my little girl was not feeling well and began to have a fever. The thermometer was quick and easy to use, and showed that she had a fever. She had not been eating well, so I checked the back of her throat hoping she did not get strep. Her throat was red, but not concerning. I took the otoscope and looked at her ears and seen that she did have yet another ear infection. Having this kit helped me to know if I should take the time to take her into the doctor. This kit would be great for any new parents, or parents who do not have this in their home. It has everything you could possibly need and is of great quality! This product is part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel given to me, and this is my honest review.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First off, thank you to the Stellar Review Panel for sending me this great little kit! As a dad with kids prone to ear infections and sinus issues, I really appreciate the makeup of the Safety 1st Essential Sick-Day Screen Kit. The items inside all seemed of a good quality and the assortment has been quite handy. I especially liked the lighted tongue depressor with the cell phone holder?!?! What a great idea!!! I’ve been on several telehealth video calls where we’ve been trying to get a clear view of my kiddos’ throats with little success. This little gadget in particular is a lifesaver! All in all, this kit gives a parent the tools to be prepared for those teleheath calls in advance. And when your kids are sick, any advantage or opportunity to get them well quicker is a big win! My only wish would be that the case were large enough to hold all the items. Regardless though, this is a great addition to our medicine cabinet!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Meet the ultimate secret weapon in parenting: the Safety 1st Essential Sick Day Screening kit. I found it to be an arsenal of helpful gadgets including an ear otoscope, a light-up tongue depressor (yes, really!), a lightning-fast rectal thermometer, and a booger-busting nasal aspirator. This kit could turn any worried parent into a medical pro—at least until your doctor appointment! The compact carry case is my favorite thing. I keep it zipped up in our medicine cabinet for easy access and on the go transport when needed. I also really appreciate visual guide provided for identifying ear infections and the included cleaning brush. I now feel armed with everything I need to tackle any sick day like a champ. I’d bump my star rating up to a 5 of the thermometor was a forehead one instead of rectal. I received this kit through the Stellar Product Testing Panel.
Med kit with some hit and miss items

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There are some great items in this kit and other items that need to be redesigned/changed out for more usable ones. Hit: The ear otoscope is easy to use, and helped me catch an early-stage ear infection in my 18-month-old. I appreciated the extra security of the screw on the battery compartment! I do wonder about the sanitation factor though, and I wish that it came with disposable covers. Hit: The nose aspirator is awesome, and has some definite design improvements over the competition. I love that it comes with a case that travels easily. With other aspirators, the tubes are stiff/extra long and cumbersome to pack for travel - always getting bent out of shape. Also, I LOVE that this does not need a filter! Miss: The light-up tongue depressor was not a hit with us. I could not get the camera to line up with the light, the spring control mount did not fit well, and I also found that the battery button was "sticky" so I had a hard time turning it on and off. Miss: The rectal thermometer worked fine, my complaint with it was that it has a button battery that came with only 1/4 charge. I already don't like button-battery-powered items because of safety, but it was a real bummer for it to come with such a low battery percentage. Miss: The carrying case was too small to fit all of the items. I know it's only meant for the thermometer and tongue depressor, as the other items have their own cases for travel, but I would have liked the bag to fit everything. Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for the chance to use and review this kit.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There is nothing scarier than the first time your child gets sick. This kit helps to relieve (some of) the scaries. Safety 1st is known for their quality and you can tell why with this kit. As parents we are not experts in knowing how to diagnose our children’s illnesses, but the fact that they included a tool to rule in or out an ear infection with a picture on how to do so is everything and is by far the most useful part of this kit that makes it stand apart from the others. They made sure to include the necessities that most kits won’t have, including a tongue depressor that lights up, a nasal suction that is painless and a thermometer which you can never have too many of. Even if you’re not diagnosing your child’s symptoms, this kit allows you to bring additional information to your doctor or even be able to decipher if a doctor appt is even needed. When my daughter’s year molars were coming in she started to grab at her ears, the fact that we could see how perfect her ears looked confirmed that it was teething alone. I highly recommend this as a gift to new parents. Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this health kit.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is an amazing kit for any parent to keep on hand. The ear otoscope is my favorite component, as it is always so difficult to know when a little one has an infected ear. The rectal thermometer is perfect for little ones. And the light-up tongue depressor is perfect for capturing images on your phone. I will keep this kit on hand for years to come and will buy as gifts for new parents! I received this product as part of the Stellar Product Testing panel.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This kit has so many great items and features! I wish I had this when my son was born, (he is 2 years old now) it could have saved us many hours waiting at the doctor or urgent care! I love having the ear otoscope for the countless times I wonder if my son is messing with his ears because they are infected or if it’s no reason other than that they are there. The thermometer is the perfect size for the terribly intimidating idea of taking a rectal temperature. Normal thermometers are way too long (in my opinion) and I always worried I would hurt him in the process. The nose sucker seems like an upgraded version of a very well known item but also includes the perfect little case to carry it in. The light up tongue depressor is pretty cool but I was more excited about the outer ear cleaner attachment. Such a great little set for any new or existing parent to help settle at least some of our million questions and worries that come up every day. I was given this health kit to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel and I would absolutely recommend this kit!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this gift for my honest review by Stellar Product Testing Panel Safety 1st Essential Sick-Day Screening Kit is something I recommend all parents to get. I love that it included a Thermometer, Ear tool , Light-Up Tongue Depress, and a nose sucker. But I wish the thermometer was a little longer especially since having toddlers you need to use a recital for temp. I absolutely love the nose suction, and I love that it came with a case to put the suction back in after using. I highly recommend to any parents who needs a safety kit, that has all the required safety equipment, and affordable.

I love that you can easily look into your child’s throat with the light up tongue depressor. The ear otoscope is amazing. I can now tell if my child has an ear infection at home and utilize a telehealth visit. An extra bonus is that it includes batteries! This kit is something I will give as a gift to new moms. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was given this health kit to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. When I was given this product my 17m old was in the midst of a runny nose causing congestion and a cough. I was so excited and loved the nasal aspirator. The boog ease nasal aspirator worked great for my congested little one. This is my first time using something like this, I usually use the bulb but this is so much faster! My baby wiggled a little while using but didn't cause discomfort. It is so easy to clean and has a double chamber to make sure you don't swallow down boogers. I've heard that other brands have a filter, from what it looks like to me is that this one does not have one. I'm the type of mom though that doesn't mind sharing some germs as long as it helps my baby. It came with two sized of nasal tips to get a better seal. The light up tongue depressor works good the light is great and it can clip attach to your phone, but with my phone case I had trouble stretching it out to clip on right. The ear otoscope gives a very clear image the lens works great I used it on my husband, myself, and my 3year old who can tell me when it's too deep. I was just concerned with how pointy the tip of it was for my 17m old and putting it at the entrance of ear I couldn't see much on him. With the ear otoscope I did love that the tip of it can be removed for easy cleaning as well it's just a cone piece of plastic. The only piece I didn't use was the rectal thermometer since my baby is a little older I use an ear thermometer, but it looks to have some pretty good features such as the over insertion line and it says it does fast readings also it's compact for on the go use. Another plus with this kit is the carrier case for the nasal aspirator I love that it's Soo easy to take on the go and the mesh bag for the other items is great quality mesh I wouldn't be concerned of it ripping or zipper busting. Overall I love this product just a couple little changes such as the phone clip on the tongue depressor, and a filter on the nasal aspirator would make it better. I would purchase this as a baby shower gift! So happy I have this now for future sick days, since my babies are in daycare.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When Stellar Product Testing Panel reached out asking if I'd like to test this product, I couldn't say yes fast enough! I have two young kids that go to daycare and I feel like one of them is sick every other week. So, having this kit at home to use on those days is a total game changer. It provides all of the essentials for assessing my kids symptoms at home before rushing them to urgent care or the pediatrician. My kids often suffer from ear infections and the illuminated otoscope is a very valuable new addition to our medicine cabinet. We will use these tools often!
