I've loved this High Traffic Grass Seed for many, many years but won't buy it any longer because the "redesign" mix contains so little grass seed that it covers very little area. I wish you would go back to selling the High Traffic Grass Seed alone and not so-called enhancers with a little bit of fertilizer mixed in. Sure comes across as just a marketing gimmick. Scotts loses its product integrity over this redesign. It would be better to just go out and buy another brand of perennial rye with a little bit of other varieties of grass seed mixed in.

I have 2 large dogs who love to run and chase eachother. In just a little over 1 years time they have turned my yard into a mud zone. After doing much research of all the different grass seed on the market and reading reviews, I chose Scott’s High traffic seed and hoped for the best!! Well in just 2 weeks after spending a full day tilling, placing the grass seed down, adding some top soil and watering daily, the results are amazing!! Would highly recommend this product for anyone with pets, kids or high traffic areas. Thank you Scott’s!!

Planted this seed and followed all of the directions. Not a single blade of grass has grown. It did grow a bunch of weeks. What a waste of money.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I live in the piedmont of North Carolina and have wanted some grass seed that would look great in the shade in the heat of summer. this product did just that for me this past summer. I would like to add that all of the grass seed that I have tried this product did what I wanted which it gave me a green lawn in the heat of summer in the shade.

Scott's Fertilizers always work great and the granules are smaller than some of the cheaper fertilizers so I figured I'd try their grass seed. Filling a lot of large bare spots and overseeding , some came up and some didn't, after being kept moist, rains and sun. I've had better luck with hardware bulk grass seed. I'll just stick with their fertilizer products.

We're sorry to read about your disappointment with Scotts Turf Builder Grass Seed Heat-tolerant Blue Mix For Tall Fescue Lawns and appreciate your feedback. Depending on conditions and the seed type, the grass can take from 6 to 10 days to start to germinate. Germination requires air temperatures consistently above 65 degrees F. Cool nighttime temperatures and fluctuating temperatures will slow germination. Cold weather will delay germination but will not hurt the seed. Both excessive moisture and not enough moisture can inhibit seed germination. If a weed control is used around the time of seeding, it will either prevent the seeds from germination outright or destroy the seedlings as they emerge. We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee to our consumers. At your earliest convenience, please reach out to us at 888-270-3714 if we can further assist.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This help to cover some bare spots in the front yard that required the same maintenance and time to get grass to grow. The front yard gets lots of direct sunlight and I watered daily in the evening after sunset. Great results and the spots are covered with green grass!

The area I seeded gets full sun all day and I'm in southern California so I needed a heat and drought tolerant grass. I seeded the area twice and it grew in a couple square inch patches here and there. Now I've just got weeds. Watered every day. Been about a month. Not certain what happened but seems I'm not the only person who's had an issue with this mix.

We're sorry to read about your disappointment with Scotts Turf Builder Grass Seed Heat-tolerant Blue Mix For Tall Fescue Lawns and appreciate your feedback. Our growing media products undergo composting that kills most weed seeds, however since we do not sterilize our soils some may remain. We chose not to sterilize our soils as this would kill beneficial microorganisms that help the growth of plants. We are able to offer our "weed-free guarantee" by way of our No Quibble Guarantee. This is pretty much Rye grass, it's the only thing that grew. I have a Fescue lawn, so everywhere I used this product to repair empty spots it's now just Rye grass. Doesn't look bad, because there is grass there, but if you cut at 4", Rye grass sucks.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For some reason every year i have bare spots in my lawn so this year I figured I would try this. It did take some trial and error but once the temperatures hit the right temp these grew in pretty fast, sprouts within a few or two, I definitely suggest getting some soil or hay to cover because the birds kept trying to eat all my seed but it came up really well through my cheap top soil and most of my spots are filled in and the rest of the seed I had I used to fill out my lawn which cause it’s to be nice and thick so this seeds works really well.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great product which was just what I needed for my sunny New Jersey lawn that usually gets burned up in the summer months. I had to overseed to account for that damage from last summer and this seed did the job. Hopefully it lives up to its name this summer!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great grass seed. I changed my lawn to Turf type tall fescue about 5 years ago. This seed filled in some bare spots very nicely. Awesome germination rate. If anybody gives it a bad review for not germinating, then it’s user error. Not everyone can grow grass seed. Great color and thickness.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This review is not as complete as I would like it to be due to the weather in Colorado and the deadline for submitting my review. However, I’m a lifelong Scotts customer and I’ve never been disappointed with any of the products I’ve purchased and I’ve never needed to take advantage of their no quibble guarantee. Because we might still get a frost, I’m only going to do a very limited area of the yard. In two weeks, I should be safe in doing the rest of the yard. For this product, I waited until our weather isn’t supposed to drop below 50 degrees and used a tool to break up the soil at least an inch in depth. Then I used my Scotts spreader at the recommended setting and evenly distributed the seed. When I was finished, I compacted the soil by stepping on it to ensure that the seed made good contact. Then I watered, using a gentle spray to make sure that enough water was used to get the ground moist but not drenched. We had a gentle rain last night, and more at different times today. I’ll ensure that the soil gets moistened again before it gets dark this evening and then repeat the cycle each day for the next two weeks. I’ve included a close-up of the seed in the spreader so you can see the fertilizer and soil improver that is also contained in the package. This seed is advertised to resist extreme heat and at our altitude, the radiational heating is significant. I’m looking forward to seeing the results of this test! My expectation is to see very fine green shoots sprouting soon – hopefully in 10 – 14 days. I apologize for not being able to include a picture, but here in Colorado, our growing season is a bit later than in most of the Country. Based on past performance, I’m rating this product at the 5-star level.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Satisfied with this brand of grass seed. Although it’s still too early to comment on the effectiveness of it, I’m satisfied with how easy it is to spread. We use a spreader which allows you to control how much is needed for coverage. Having a good looking lawn is important to us. We live in an area that doesn’t usually get extremely hot or humid in the summer but do have our fair share of warm days. The area we used this seed on where it’s bare is in a sunny area and keeping it watered is key to maintaining a nice growth.

I bought two 7lb bags of the high traffic grass seed, I cleared the area, spread the seed according the the package instructions, put top soil on top, use the Scotts fertilizer spray that was recommended, and only have about 5-10% of grass growing. I planted in early April, where is my grass!!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product worked great for me. I have to hilly areas in my yard that desperately needed seeding. I try every year but it never takes hold. I applied the seeds as directed and watered frequently when rain was not forecast. The seed started to sprout about two weeks in. It looks beautiful now. I’m hoping the heat tolerance will hold up well but I really won’t be able to evaluate until mid summer. So far, so good.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Scotts Heat-Tolerant Blue Mix was a wonderful addition to my lawn. The mix of Kentucky Bluegrass with Tall Fescue provides excellent coverage and a nice dark green color for my lawn. As with any grass seed, the keys to success are ensuring you prepare your site, ensure good seed to soil contact, and provide ample water to keep the seed moist through germination. The Fescue will germinate first so you’ll need to keep watering even after you see the first sign of germination as the Bluegrass will take a bit longer. This product will give you nice even coverage for a thick, lush, and green lawn if the proper preparation and care is provided. Highly recommend for transition zone and northern lawns!
