Shark Cordless Detect Clean and Empty Auto-Empty System with QuadClean Multi-Surface Brushroll - IW3511: HEPA Filter, Pet Hair, 60 Min Run Time

I’ve had this thing for almost a year now and have to deal with emptying it myself because the auto empty feature doesn’t work. COMPLETE waste of my money and i wish i had returned it or never bought it in the first place. don’t waste your time, get a better vacuum.

I’ve owned this vacuum for about a year now and would not recommend. It worked excellent at first but now, not as great. Battery dies quickly, there’s a flap that after vacuuming stays open and dirt comes out of it, and it just doesn’t pick up as well as it used to. Yes, I routinely clean the filters and rollers.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This vacuum is so nice, the only downside is the short battery life, so if you want a vacuum for a large space, this wouldn’t be ideal for you. The noise level is moderate, and it is pretty lightweight and doubles as a handheld vacuum which is nice. The auto sense on this is an amazing feature, as it senses walls and will increase suction. I don’t have to use a different attachment to get the crevices along the walls and the light helps me see all the dirt I would normally miss with my other vacuum. I am pretty amazed at how well it picks up everything on all surfaces in my home. The self emptying feature is another perk to using this vacuum, no more dust! Overall, I love this vacuum-from the sleek design to the auto detection and self emptying features. Definitely recommend.

Adequate for those "little" clean-up jobs. But if you're looking for deep cleaning, don't count on this. We bought this because the hose on my corded shark (that I LOVE) got a hole in it and my husband wanted a cordless one. The attachments are useless. When you use them, the device shuts itself off when the suction is "too much" Really? Too much suction in a vacuum? We contacted Shark and they replaced the handle, it continues to do it, it's the way it's built, not the individual device. I broke down and bought a new hose from my corded shark-it's too old to get it replaced for free but I can't stand it. It's also giving me a blister on my thumb from holding it so long.

WHY? Used to purchase these for company use but you seemed to think no one wants a std solid stick and all are moving to this new flex type, bad move back to Dyson

I bought this device to replace my Shark Navigator. It is my third Shark vacuum cleaner. The Navigator has been great, used a lot, and is wearing out. I saw the marketing video for the Cordless Detect and was most impressed with the sealed, no dust escape feature. Since receiving and using the Cordless Detect I am equally impressed with the ease of use: light weight, slim and narrow power head that can get under most of our furniture and into tight spaces, and stores conveniently in the pantry. Counterintuitive, the smaller power head is an advantage. It is light weight, maneuverable and can get under and around furniture and fixtures to do a great job lifting and extracting dirt and dust. The apparatus is nicely balanced so as not to be fatiguing while using it to clean the whole house, or to just clean us broken glass in the kitchen. Being cordless, I can zip through the house from room to room without stopping to unplug and re-plug the cord; no cord to get entangled in the furniture, and the detect feature seems to prevent the device from snagging and entangleing small electrical cables, something my Navigator did with gusto. Watch the light change color on the power head and handle while vacuuming; it changes color when dirt is detected: yellow for medium and red for heavy. Go over the area, especially carpets and rugs, until it turns blue again. Don't forget to empty the waste container of the charging station after each, or at least every other, use. Unfortunately, when trying to thoroughly clean the whole house (over 3600 sf), I've run out of power twice, and had to return downstairs to reset the device in the charging/emptying station to recharge before I can complete the cleaning (maybe that will change next time, after extracting the dirt left by my Navigator). It is for that reason only that I give it a 4 instead of a 5. I highly recommend this vacuum cleaner to anyone wanting and needing a new vacuum that is easy to use, does a great job of cleaning and doesn't spew dust while doing so.

Base no longer suctions debris. Very disappointed. And hoping I can return it for a new one and try again.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like this vacuum, it is easy to use and stronger than my old cordless vacuum. The battery seems to last a long time, I haven’t actually timed it, but it never died before the end of the job for me. I’m able to get the whole basement vacuumed, the stairs and kitchen and hallway. As with most cordless vacuums, I think it’s best for touch ups and a quick clean, not a general whole house vacuum. I really enjoy the auto option that adjusts the suction power based on the amount of dirt it detects or carpet vs hard floor surface, it actually works well! The self emptying function works well, when the vacuum gets docked, the dirt gets sucked in automatically and the optional scent gets released at that time so you don’t need to smell dirt and dust, I have it at lowest setting and it just puts out a little burst of scent, not too overpowering. The tank is pretty spacious and it lifts up easily by the handle, the hole for emptying is not big, you need it shake it a bit to empty. The attachments work well, I love the brush one. I love the fact that I didn’t need to drill anything to the wall to make it stand upright, it looks pretty slick and inconspicuous. A little dirt escapes on the bottom during the self emptying, as pictured.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall, I was very pleased with this vacuum. When I opened the box, the assembly instructions were clearly printed on the box. I was able to set it up, plug it in, and get to using it fairly quickly. It had excellent suction and I was able to vacuum the first floor and stairs with one charge, including a den with fairly deep carpet covered in dog hair. On a normal pass, I would expect to get a couple more rooms out of a charge. I was particularly impressed by the roller. Vacuuming floors covered with hair from a golden retriever/ newfoundland/ black lab mix, I was surprised that there was only one point where the vacuum was clogged. It was easy to clear, and the hair did not get wrapped around the roller badly enough to do any damage. My vacuum did come with the pet multi-tool, which seemed like it would work well, but annoyingly didn’t have anywhere on the base to store it. The self-emptying canister was pretty neat, but I’m not sure if it’s something entirely necessary.

I bought this today and it is the biggest waste of money I have ever spent. The thing takes five hours plus to charge with a total run time of about 20 minutes. It’s literally un-usable and the suction is terrible. DO NOT BUY

The vacuum is terrible on rugs specifically washable rugs like tumble, ruggable, etc. as it leaves lines of dog hair and the rugs do not even feel clean. On hard floors it mostly piles up and then blows around dog hair/sand/dirt/crumbs. I can literally hold the wand/crevice tool attachment up to a crumb and the vacuum will not suck it up. I bought this to replace a Dyson v8 that was still going strong after 4 years. A year later I am throwing this shark away and buying another Dyson. Would not recommend.

Do not purchase for pet hair. It constantly gets clogged in the bottom tube. I was excited to get this as it had the emptying canister. It has now turned into a hand vac since I am unable to return without the box.

Horrible vacuum. Doesn’t pick up dirt. Hardly any suction. When you pick up vacuum all the dirt falls out. Terrible battery life.

It vacuums well . But the stick tube ls too narrow and keeps plugging up. I have to put a dowel down the tube to unplug it almost every time I use it.

The worst vacuum known to man. It clogs easily, the door where the auto cleaning comes out doesn’t close completely after self cleaning. 0 suction and mostly just drags the dirt around.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This vacuum is AMAZING. It tells you the amount of suction that it is using(so you know when you’re going over crumbs). It is a lot quieter that most vacuums I have owned previously. It’s cordless so it makes for easy use and it has not died on me yet. It also has a light so you can really see what you are cleaning up. On top of all of that, it’s self cleaning. I honestly have not used a vacuum as amazing as this one.

I love being able to vacuum my entire apartment without worrying about tripping over a cord or unplugging and plugging back in the cord over and over. I also love that this can be used as a handheld vacuum to clean up smaller areas. The self-emptying feature is a dream; I feel like I can have this vacuum out in my apartment rather than shoved into a closet because it always looks clean and emptied. It isn’t overly loud compared to other vacuums, and the suction is great—I use it on my carpets and tile floors with great results. I’m definitely still trying to figure out how all of the features work, but so far I’m very impressed with this product!

I bought this Shark 2 or so months ago and I do really love the convenience of a no chord vacuum. I have been wanting to switch for awhile and after researching, this is the one I went with. PROS: Love the difference attachments, great for high corners, and handheld cleaning jobs. it's so light and easy to maneuver. I truly enjoy the cordless aspect of the vacuum. Grab and clean so quickly. The suction meets my needs and I really like the different speeds and suction options that can be chosen for your carpet and hard floor needs. I really like the automatic dispenser with the air freshener. It's nice not having to empty the canister everytime I vacuum (which is multiple times every day because I have little kids). I have cleaned the parts of the vacuum and id say that's pretty simple as well. So, a lot of positive things about this vacuum that I truly love HOWEVER.... CONS: biggest con and what ultimately pushed me to review this vacuum poorly is the battery life. It's ridiculous. I can't clean my entire house (I'd say my house is more hard floor than carpet, but close to maybe half and half). My house is 2400sq ft. I despise that I vacuum part of my house then have to charge it to do the rest. Now do I vacuum my entire house every time; truthfully no, but when I want or need to, I can't. For the price of the vacuum I was truly hoping for a better battery life.
