A: It isn't recommended to use water / soap to clean the parts of the vacuum. We recommend using a dry cloth to wipe out the dust cups and other openings.

It vacuums well . But the stick tube ls too narrow and keeps plugging up. I have to put a dowel down the tube to unplug it almost every time I use it.

The worst vacuum known to man. It clogs easily, the door where the auto cleaning comes out doesn’t close completely after self cleaning. 0 suction and mostly just drags the dirt around.

It is a lot quieter that most vacuums I have owned previously. It’s cordless so it makes for easy use and it has not died on me yet. It also has a light so you can really see what you are cleaning up. On top of all of that, it’s self cleaning. I honestly have not used a vacuum as amazing as this one.
So far, loving it!

I love being able to vacuum my entire apartment without worrying about tripping over a cord or unplugging and plugging back in the cord over and over. I also love that this can be used as a handheld vacuum to clean up smaller areas. The self-emptying feature is a dream; I feel like I can have this vacuum out in my apartment rather than shoved into a closet because it always looks clean and emptied. It isn’t overly loud compared to other vacuums, and the suction is great—I use it on my carpets and tile floors with great results. I’m definitely still trying to figure out how all of the features work, but so far I’m very impressed with this product!

I bought this Shark 2 or so months ago and I do really love the convenience of a no chord vacuum. I have been wanting to switch for awhile and after researching, this is the one I went with. PROS: Love the difference attachments, great for high corners, and handheld cleaning jobs. it's so light and easy to maneuver. I truly enjoy the cordless aspect of the vacuum. Grab and clean so quickly. The suction meets my needs and I really like the different speeds and suction options that can be chosen for your carpet and hard floor needs. I really like the automatic dispenser with the air freshener. It's nice not having to empty the canister everytime I vacuum (which is multiple times every day because I have little kids). I have cleaned the parts of the vacuum and id say that's pretty simple as well. So, a lot of positive things about this vacuum that I truly love HOWEVER.... CONS: biggest con and what ultimately pushed me to review this vacuum poorly is the battery life. It's ridiculous. I can't clean my entire house (I'd say my house is more hard floor than carpet, but close to maybe half and half). My house is 2400sq ft. I despise that I vacuum part of my house then have to charge it to do the rest. Now do I vacuum my entire house every time; truthfully no, but when I want or need to, I can't. For the price of the vacuum I was truly hoping for a better battery life.

By far the worst vacuum I have ever purchased. There is zero suction. Instead of it sucking up the collection of dog fur, dust, etc., it actually just drags it then builds a collection only for you to vacuum the crap up with an alternative vacuum. Biggest waste of money.

It’s so convenient…just take it off the stand and it’s ready to go anywhere because there is no cord! Vacuuming my steps are a breeze. It has great suction and handy attachments. It can also operate as a handheld for those hard-to-get spaces. The charge lasts through all my house. It even empties itself…what more could I ask!? If there is one downside…it’s a little hard to push on higher carpet because of the great suction. It has made vacuuming so much easier! Update from husband : it conveniently senses different floor types. A negative, it seems that taller people like myself cause the powerhead to push into the carpet a bit more which can bog it down a little. I purposely hold it lower now when operating it. Also, when auto emptying, you do get some smell from it's contents

Love the auto empty but the runtime doesn’t last enough to do my whole house and it won’t pick up a lot of stuff, tiny beads, pieces of wrappers, etc. things keep getting stuck in the one chamber and it doesn’t have the best suction for things other than dust and hair. On one of my rugs it just moves the hair around

I have been using my vac for a few weeks. I am disappointed it won’t run past ten minutes tops. I have a corded one had for years it is awesome. I thought I wasn’t getting it on charger good but still doesn’t last. I vacuumed up sugar I spilt and when I put on charger the sugar fell out the hose

First one delivered could not empty the dirt. Exchanged it to find out that both did not hold the battery life for 60 minutes. Can only use it for 15 to 20 minutes. I carefully followed the instructions on charging for the first and second times.

It’s very powerful and effective with cleaning. It honestly collected so much dirt and hair from a short vacuum session. I’m being serious when I say I never felt more excited to vacuum before! As for the noise I think it’s a pretty average sounding vacuum. Lastly battery life is good, it can at the least last a solid 30 min.

Ya it’s has a design flaw you dust getting trapped and stuck in the chamber. I also have mold growing on the outside of the chamber and the chambers magnetic release is rusted over. How!? The chamber is useless as well and doesn’t hold much dust or dog hair. I’ve contacted shark for a replacement or a refund and they are very rude about it. I have a full warranty and this it’s Was 500$ not worth it!!

It charges quickly, picks up pet hair like a dream, and it quiet enough to not scare my cat away every time I use it. I also really like how it automatically purges what you’ve vacuumed up into the bin on the stand each time you hang the cordless stick back on the charger. Best part of all is that it’s strong enough to pick up cat litter on tile instead of just blowing it around. I’ve officially replaced my Dustbuster, too.

I bought this around the first of December and I am so disappointed with it. I’ve previously owed 2 Shark stick cordless vacs and they were really great. This one, not great at all. Unless I run it as high as it will go, it just pushes the dirt around the floor and doesn’t suck it up. But, running it on high drains the battery so fast that I can’t even get 2 rooms done. Running on eco mode is completely useless, and although it’s supposed to have more power along baseboards using the Detector Pro, it won’t even suck up dirt along the baseboards. I have to push away the dirt from the baseboards then run the Shark over it. I’d return this product, but we already threw the box away. When you place the vac on the stand to empty and charge it, it has to sit a certain way or it won’t work. I have to push my foot against it to get it to work. That’s not a big deal in the whole big picture, but the point I’m making is that this vac claims to do a lot of things that it actually doesn’t do. It’s a very expensive, generic store brand product, and doesn’t live up to the value of Shark products, in my opinion.

That’s something I struggle with our Dyson, but not the shark. Suction is fantastic, and you can hear the auto detect floor type working as you vacuum. The auto empty is something that (for me) is a nice to have, but not wholly necessary for a 2 bed apartment. Overall LOVE this vacuum and have already told family about it!
