I’ve bought two of these, my first one lasted almost a year and stopped working out of nowhere but I liked it while it worked so I purchased a second one, three months later it won’t hold a charge and died, charger isn’t working at all now. Invest in something else this will it last

Not happy with this new version

I’m not sure why Vtech made the changes they did to this monitor, but they lost us as a customer because of it. We have used Vtech for years and have had other issues with their cameras before, but they were always due to a fault in the camera that the company resolved for us via the manufacturer warranty. However, this camera would not even work as intended right out of the box. When we returned within a couple days and replaced with a different one of the same version, the replacement camera had the exact same issues. Both monitors we purchased connected to the parent unit just fine. However, having our monitors connect to wifi to be able to view remotely is an absolute must for us. This camera would not do that despite being part of the WiFi series. Here’s how it went for us: First off, they made a completely different app for this version of the monitor, which would have made us view our two cameras in separate apps instead of viewing them both simultaneously. Second, this monitor does not connect to WiFi via the parent unit like before, but instead via the new app, which was unsuccessful for both monitors we attempted to connect. The app states if multiple WiFi connection attempts are made with no success, try another WiFi… um… we don’t have another one. And I’m not sure how many average family households would? And lastly, both of the cameras made an awful high pitch electronic hum when in night mode that would have given me a headache if I was my son sleeping underneath it all night. We had to turn his noise on high just to try drown it out. Overall, if you don’t require WiFi connection and don’t need to use the app, this would be fine for you. But we are immensely unhappy with this new version and the WiFi struggle we went through just to get our money back in the end. This situation on top of the previous issues we’ve had with this brand of baby monitor have made us part ways with Vtech.

I bought this monitor Nov 12th 2024…. It is a little over a month later and it has stopped working. The night vision feature has stopped and is just a black screen. It flashes every now and then but just doesn’t show anything. I also have tried everything to get it to connect to the app on my phone and it just keeps saying can offline. Do not buy this.

I love the display of this camera and that it comes with the wall mount. I also love that it records or keeps movement for safety reasons but that feature never works it always says unable to retrieve file. Or error. I’ve used it for 9 months and now randomly it went offline and I couldn’t reconnect it. If there was a way for them to fix these problems it would be great, I will not be repurchasing from vtech after this.

This product has the potential to be great but sadly isn’t. I’ve had it for 6 months and the app almost never works, it always says the camera is offline. Luckily the monitor works but half the reason I bought this camera was for the phone feature, it’s nice not to have to lug around a monitor during naptime. I reached out to vtech about my issue and they exchanged mine for another one and it has the SAME issue. I used to think it was my wifi but I moved 2 months ago and still have the same issue with different wifi so I refuse to believe that’s the reasoning. Seeing all the negative reviews here made me feel not alone though. It sucks because the monitor has really cool features, if vtech could just figure out the few things that mess up they could have a really great product.

I bought this for the price at the time and the face it would be able to view from my phone. Within a week the monitor would not keep a charge. I constantly have to have the power cord everywhere the monitor goes. It disconnects from the camera. Mainly at like 1 and 2 am and wakes me up not because my baby is disturbing but it can't ever keep a connection. Worst baby monitor I've ever bought. Thought a 100 dollar baby monitor would be worth the money..... nope I've used way cheaper with my other children and had no issues. This product is a waste of money, time and sleep

Terrible monitor. It continuously tries to connect then it's pixelated and looks awful. The connection is delayed. We have tried it with the Wi-Fi as well and no change. For such an expensive monitor with all the bells and whistles you cannot move it. We reluctantly spent a lot of money on this in the first place and to have it be a terrible monitor is disappointing

Vtech support is no good

At first, this thing was great!! It got good range, everything worked as it should've. I bought this in July. By October, the night vision was cutting out. So 3 solid months of use. Now, the night vision doesn't work at all! I have to keep the nightlight on in order to see my baby on the screen, but the nightlight keeps her from falling back to sleep when she wakes up. I reached out to the company a week ago. They said they'd get back to me in 1-2 business days and they never did! I did purchase the all state protection plan thankfully, but the manufacturer warranty should still cover the issue. But they still haven't gotten back to me, so I might just have to use my warranty on it anyway if I want to get a working monitor. If the company would get back to me, and fix the problem then this wouldn't be an issue but I have to rate it 3 stars for lack of communication from vtech.

Comes with one cord that needs to stay plugged into the wall the entire time. I’m not sure if they forgot to put a charge cord in our box but the cord that’s used for the camera is not the same cord that’s used for charging the handheld monitor and it didn’t come with anything compatible with charging the handheld monitor. So now we have a dead handheld monitor and no way to watch the baby.

The night mode is pretty good, along with the infrared lighting (you can't see it in the dark like other cameras). I don't like that we cannot control the camera mobility/angle via the phone app or the monitor. Instant recording would be nice whether it'd be sound or motion alert, recording those alerts for a fee seconds or minutes.
