Syncs easily underestimates fat

This scale is great if you love stats but hate logging them. I use the connect app a lot, and it's nice to be able to step on the scale and go about my day without logging into an app and recording each number. I recently had a Dexa scan done and this scale is about 3-4% under the fat amount. It's consistent, but I'm pretty sure it's been off by the same amount since I got it. I have a much older scale from a different company and it shows exactly the same number as the Dexa scan and the Garmin scale has been 3-4% under that one every time I compare fat %. If you want to track change over time, it seems good for that. And compared to my watch telling me I'm less fit than I hoped, having my scale be more forgiving may not be the worst thing.
Has some bugs

Every morning I get on the scale and weight myself, then get off, after the screen turns off I have to tap the scale to get it to turn back on and usually the hour glass shows up. Sometimes the hour glass screen syncs the scale with my phone, but usually I have to wait, weigh my self again, and get back to the hour glass screen a second time before it will actually send data to the app. Occasionally it gets stuck in a screen that shows the scale and app connected, but the app shows no activity, takes 15minutes for that screed to go away so most of the time I have to take the batteries out to force it to stop. Gets stuck in that screen at least once a day. So minus one star for the app never syncing on the first try, and minus a second for it constantly freezing. Minus a third star cause sometime I can't get it to turn on at all.
Love the connectivity to Connect

It is expensive, but it seems sturdy, accurate, and effective. I love how it syncs with the Garmin app. It frankly gives me more information than I understand. At some point I will read the instructions!
Good but not great

I’m very happy with the scale and the features, but with multiple users that are about the same weight and the “tap” sensing that doesn’t provide any sensory feedback it is sometimes hard to select the right person. Maybe there should be some type of confirmation before logging it to Connect. The link to connect is sometimes wonky and unreliable. Like I said, good high quality Garmin product but not great in terms of usability.
Work for me!

I can't compare the more detailed measurements it gives to anything else yet but I love the ease of syncing to my Garmin app and being able to quickly track my progress. Sleek look and easy interface. Great product for anyone using Garmin devices. Definitely reccommend for any dedicated fitness fiend of all levels as well as someone just wanting a basic scale. No complaints so far and looking forward to adding more Garmin products to my toolbox.
Great features and connectivity!

At first I had a love hate relationship with this scale because it measured my weight 5 lbs heavier than my previous scale! But, once I learned it needs to be layed flat for storing it’s been better. I love that it automatically syncs my weight with my watch in the connect app and that it records so much more than just my weight!
Very nice

I’m a big fan of Garmin, and love my Fenix 7x, but the Index S2 does not uphold the quality that one would expect from the company. I bought the scale new. Since the initial set up, the wifi connectivity has not worked at all. Because of this, all of the “smart” features advertised are unavailable. I have gone through the Garmin forums and other internet resources, trying many of the recommendations out there, and nothing has resolved the issue. In this research, I have come to discover that many other individuals are experiencing the same thing. My biggest disappointment is that this seems to be a somewhat widespread, longstanding issue, but Garmin has seemingly done nothing to address it.
So far so good!

Purchased this as a replacement for a failed smart scale from another manufacturer. Like this one is in the Garmin ecosystem as is my watch but the last scale also integrated too. Seems accurate and allows for multiple people to track their weight. The only gripe I have is that you have to kind of forcibly tap it before you step on in order to turn it on. Would be great if would just activate when you step on it.
Keeps me on track

I am renewing my approach to health and weight loss. This scale provides several points that I want/need to monitor in my wellness journey that I could not monitor with a standard scale.

Scale works well and everything worked within a couple of minutes for me and my girlfriend. We got all out weight and other properties, but the scale gave no info about that they ment and what you should strive for...it also dosnt link to good sources in the app. I expected a bit more from this.
Love my new watch!

Bought to replace the original Index scale, which worked well for many years. Loving the new color screen and more responsive nature of this scale. Would recommend!

Bought almost 2 mos ago. I would give a 5 star except some hiccups in the beginning with set up n getting 2 users set up. Ultimately had to restart the entire process with resetting the scale. Most of the directions there.. but had to fill on the blanks. Only reason for 4 star. Now that we r rolling with 2 users. Love the scale and the additional metrics. The weight was also spot on with our previous scale. I would recommend if u like the other metrics n the tie in to the app.
Good but not perfect

Good, accurate scale. Software needs improvement. In order to get daily numbers to update you need to exist the app and log back in. Scale is not always responsive to wake it up and determine which person is currently using it.

I want to really like this scale. I’ve wanted to convert to the Garmin scale from the Fitbit for years. I finally did the last two weeks and sometimes the scale drops and adds 10 pounds randomly from day to day. pretty inconsistent and not too happy so far.

I've had recurring issues getting it to sync with Garmin Connect, and sometimes it won’t turn on at all. I've tried changing the batteries, resetting it, and disconnecting/reconnecting it from Garmin Connect, but the problems still come up from time to time. I don't have these issues with my watch, HRM, or with the Garmin BP.
