I’ve had the Venu 3 a few weeks. I find new features and useful information almost everyday. It’s helping me improve my workouts, goal setting, and many day to day activities. I can’t believe I didn’t get it sooner.
Love it!

I purchased this watch after having 2 VivoActive watches. I was looking to upgrade features such as answering calls on my watch while walking. I am very satisfied—nice large watch face.
Perfroms great, with limitations

The watch performs better than expected. The data you get from swimming, walking, and such is great. A limitation that's annoying is you can't go below certain custom lengths on the watch. You can manually update it in the app after, but if you have it linked to something like Strava it only pulls the original recording, which makes it look like I'm world record holding swimmer. If you plan on doing indoor cycling it also doesn't allow you to manually put in a reading from a bike for distance/speed, you'll need to buy a Garmin sensor for that. Other than those two gripes I love it. I wear it to sleep and it doesn't feel heavy wearing it.

Very happy with my choice. One issue the setup with the golf app disappeared and agonized when my watch and phone would not pair and found no help from Garmin. But found a if I eliminated all bluetooth items it allowed the watch to pair.
Best watch I've ever had

Bought this to replace a Vivoactive 3, a watch that I loved. This Venu 3 is even better. GPS is faster and more accurate. It has many more capabilities for monitoring health. I found a watch face that works well for me. Perhaps the most helpful thing is the three buttons for navigation in addition to swiping. (The Vivoactive3 only had one, so it was always a combination of push or hold and up/down/left/right swipes.) The only minor complaint is have is that the buttons don't stick out much (which is good and bad, so a compromise), but they seem a little 'soft' when pushing them. Still, this is the best watch I've ever had, and I recommend it.

My last watch was a vivio active 4 and certain basic things works better. I don’t like how I have to re pair my headphones every time I want to use my watch. The first week I used my new venu it got a week of battery life the next time I charged it I only got 3-4 days and I used the watch less.
More than I expected

I've had my Garmin watch for about a month now and still haven't reviewed all of the features nor explored the vast number of apps that are available. Navigating through the menu is pretty intuitive as well. I wish that it came with screen protectors. I not found one that fits my watch properly yet.

I have had six prior Garmin watches, the last being a Vivoactive 4. The Venu 3 display is very bright in most cases and the ECG function is a good addition. The battery life is much better than the Vivoactive. The golf tracking is not good, yardage does not update. The lap swimming function has several problems vs the Vivoactive. Selecting the activity does not stay on unless you immediately start it. When a lap is paused a message comes up telling you how to use the button, instead of providing stats. The display is also harder to read in the water, but this may be due to goggles.
Good watch with software glitches

Thumbs down graphic, would not recommend

Looks and feels nice on the arm because of the quality build, does not feel like plastic. I use it for text and phone notifications, alarm and fitness tracking. It has good watch faces to give rich look and feel. The battery lasts 9 days appox for me and I have used the watch for only 20 days. However, the Bluetooth disconnects every other day, I have to manually connect again to get notifications. Also, the connect app on iPhone hogs battery. I bought the watch because of long battery life, but not to charge iphone twice every day. Apparently, this is a big complain amongst large number of customers since last 8 years and Garmin has not done nothing much to fix it. The only fix I found is to force kill the connect app. All in all, if Garmin fixes the software glitches, I would give solid 5 stars.
Meets my requirements

Replaced a Samsung Galaxy with the Venu. A great choice! All the capabilities of the Galaxy with a long battery life. Could not be happier.
Great feel, but sleep coach/body is not accurate.

I really like the feel of this watch (45mm). Oli thought it would be too big and heavy but it's a great fit. It tracks exercise and cycling really well (why I bought it) but the sleep coach & body battery are gimmicks. I wore a Samsung active 2 before this watch andy sleep numbers were always in the 85-92 range. All of the sudden I'm in the 50s. The sleep coach has a "one number fits all" algorithm, that doesn't adapt to the wearer. This reflects in the "Body battery" which is also a one size fits all gimmick. Buy this watch for the fitness aspect but the sleep and battery functions are crap. In the picture, it's 9:15am, I feel great, slept 7.5 hours, had coffee, been up since 7:30 but my Venu 3 says I only have 25% body battery to face the day. By the end of the day I'll have 5%. I'm one of the healthiest and most active people I know. I don't need 8+ hours of sleep but the watch (software) chastises me if I don't sleep in every day.

bought it for golf and it doesn’t work. Supposedly a software issue. Garmin needs to get its act together very soon or I will be returning it.

This is a good daily tracker. Unlike higher end models, this watch lacks certain fitness metrics. I would recommend this watch for someone who casual fitness enthusiast. Screen quality is GREAT. Operating system is smooth and fluid. Unfortunately it cannot give cycling V02 metrics which despite its ability to pair with power meters.

Purchased for my new Dr. mandated fitness journey. Somewhat of a gadget geek but never took the leap to smart watch due to poor battery life. I landed on the Venu 3 after a quick google search. I don’t have anything to compare it to but it has exceeded my expectations in the health and fitness areas. Battery life between charging is outstanding.
