Q: How is the oscillation mechanism assembled? Metal or plastic? I have had my fan for 6 days and now it isn't oscillating anymore. I can actually hear a piece of loose material in it now. I am guessing it is cheap plastic and broke.

Buyer beware. It’s great for about 6 months. Then it just quit working. Target wouldn’t allow a return. I feel like it should work longer than that. It was great when it worked. But for the price it should last.

This is a great and crucial addition to my bedroom in the PNW where apartments don’t have AC. I typically just use the top fan at night, but when I’m moving around, unpacking or cleaning, i use both top and bottom. Yes, it’s loud. I am not bothered by noise, and I might put the sound in a white-noise-adjacent category. Based on what I’ve heard from friends who are more sensitive to sound when falling asleep, I suspect this fan would not work for them. Maybe it’s relatively quiet for fans, but on an absolute scale, I wouldn’t recommend it to people who need quiet when they sleep.

Got this online and ship home. They sent me a return one from other people. It’s opened/taped back. Missing a remote control. Also the base is hard to install, the manual is missing. It’s awful, this thing is heavy. Hard to carry and I don’t have a car to return it. DO NOT BUY ONLINE

Just under a year, the bottom half of this fan stopped working. When turned on, the bottom half would make a horribly loud screeching sound and wouldn’t blow any air. Definitely don’t recommend buying this fan unless you want to waste your money.

After about six months, the fuse blew out so I replaced it. The bottom part of this expensive fan stopped working. It oscillates and hums but doesn't blow air anymore. $89.00 down the drain. Only the top works now -like the other $20.00 fans.
