[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have three children, and three dogs, so one could say I'm a gate expert. I was really excited about this Doorway 42W series Baby and Dog Gate because it could be used for indoor or outdoor. I loved the idea that the material wouldn't rust in weather, but to be honest I'm not so sure how sturdy and secure the material is. It feels like cheap plastic that over time will bend and crack. The instructions that came with the gate are horrible and not very user friendly. The binding posts that the directions speak of are the two screws that are in the middle of the top and bottom gate rails. I like that it can conform to many different lengths and doorways. I also like that it clips into mounts to help it be secure and to help save the walls from a lot of damage. Over all the idea of the gate is nice, the price point is great but if I were picking out baby gates for a friend or even myself I wouldn't buy this one, I would spend just a bit more money and buy something I felt was sturdier and that will last longer than I foresee this one withstanding.

The wall mounts protect the walls so you don’t have to drill any holes or scratch them up. They make the gate easy to put up and take down— no messing with a lever across the middle like the gates we grew up with! It’s lightweight so even grandma can use it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Pleasantly surprised with this baby and dog gate from Ingenuity. The gate is made of good quality and is made from galvanized steel frame. It’s lightweight and I love the matte black color. It’s got a very minimalist, simple look and I blends into my decor quite well. Love how durable and secure this gate is. I was able to mount this to my door frame without the use of drills or other tools. It was very easy to install and I love how I didn’t care any damage to my doorway or walls. You can expand the frame of gate to fit as close to the width of your opening as you can. Then you twist the side latches to extend the gate further and essentially get your tight and secure fit. I appreciate how the gate does include hardware in the event you do want to mount the gate. Overall a great basic gate that is stable, secure and nice looking. Highly recommend this baby and dog gate!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was not impressed by this baby gate one bit. It felt very cheap quality and do not reccomend for parents or caregivers. My 2 year old was able to push on it and break the plastic criss cross patterned part. She is not that big, nor rough or tough and just broke so easily we ended up throwing it away after less than a week.

As I sahm this has been very useful. The color also makes it blend in with the house decor opposed to the white gates.

This is very sturdy and holds up well with lots of use. My toddlers are constantly moving it and trying to get in and it holds strong!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The gate is easy to install and does feel secure. However if you have a climbing child the gate is pretty easy to climb over because the crisscross pattern is so large. Also as a shorter mom it is hard to just step over.
