Although the jars appear to be closed, the jar containing sugar definitely had gotten moisture inside. Also the glass is extremely thin and fragile.

The clamp lids could be tighter to insure air tightness. It is not airtight that I can tell. I put water in it and turned it upside down and the water easily came out. I wish the clamps would give a tighter fit. I've had other clamp jars that sealed much better.

I just used one to keep a few marshmallows out on my counter for hot chocolate over the holidays as we had family coming and going. They stayed so nice and soft. Definitely air tight containers!

I keep tapioca starch in one, and have had zero issues with moisture, which is a good test for a good seal. Love these jars!

I think these would also be great for holding loose leaf tea or spices bought by the pound. I was a little worried about washing these with the bamboo lid but they washed up just fine (the wood didn't warp or anything). Definitely hand wash only, though! I find these are easy to open but they still have a really solid and tight seal. They also stack well on top of each other.

It may sound weird, but rounding the corner into my kitchen to see the items on my counter looking so organized and beautiful is pure joy! These jars definitely contribute to that significantly. I have the 12oz. and what's so great about this size is that it's the weird in between size that you always need, but can never find. It's bigger than your spice containers, but smaller than your coffee container. These would be perfect for table side snacks. I will definitely be acquiring more!

Once the clamps are locked down, the food- grade silicone provides airtight closure. Each jar is 12 oz. It's seriously a beautiful set. I use it to store my coffee beans and sugar.
