Q: why does it make a distinctive loud humming noise

A: Hi, Thank you for reaching out to Lasko Products. My apologies for all the trouble because of this matter. No worries, I'll be more than happy to assist you. First, please power off and unplug the unit for approximately 15-minutes. Please also try plugging into a different plug in a different room after allowing the item to sit unplugged for the recommended 15-minutes. Here is a video that explains this a bit more in-depth: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hom3hOU-vHk While the unit is unplugged, using a vacuum with the brush attachment, please vacuum the intake and exhaust vents, from the outside of the unit. If you have a can of compressed air, that can be used as well in combination with the vacuum. Remember to never open the unit as this poses a safety concern and can void your warranty. Q: Is this fan totally battery operated, with no cord or is the remote just battery operated?

A: Have a man tighten it properly for you and it will stay up all night. Also: have him place a bit of plastic shopping bag over the lower half to give extra girth when screwing.

A: That's a great question, the oscillation from left to right is 90 degree however, tilting up and down we do not have a record. Tilt-back fan head and adjustable height is for customizing the fan's cooling airflow.

The grill or vent was so cheaply made and flimsy, I almost cracked it, even with gentle pressure. The blades were just as flimsy and I don't think they would have lasted long. The way they were made also looked like a rush job, where pieces of plastic were still stuck on the ends. Then no matter how hard you tighten the nut on the base, the fan would sink. Save yourself the money and buy another brand. Very disappointed. It claims Made in the USA but not really if you read the fine print.

While it is a very powerful fan with some cool features.... i gotta only give it 3 stars. The adjustable bar does not tighten enough to secure the fan from it going down with minor pull. The base connection and where the fan connects to the fan is not very secure. None of fan feel very safe which is why i think it was made with cheap plastic. I just need it for some added air flow, so ill tey it out for a week but im not blown away especially for the price. Also the front came a bit scraped up.

Really do not like this fan and wish I returned it within 90 days but I didnt start using it right away. The functionality and remote are awful. The buttons on remote are hard to press, hard to describe but they are so flush you dont know if you pressed it and you have to aim it perfectly. You also cannot set it on high med low directly with remote , you have to cycle through all the speeds, this combined with the difficult buttons makes it really annoying , especially when you want to adjust in the middle of the night - and the thermostat function is useless , does nothing Should have read the reviews before buying this....

I got this product 6 months ago and it’s been an absolute nightmare. The fan frequently falls apartment especially when it’s on like being on loosens everything up. Had the fan running during the summer because I have pets and no central ac and I came home to the blade completely unloosened and the blades had been circling in the caged part and there were blade shavings all over the floor. Today, the screw came unloose that connects the thing to the motor. The pole doesn’t stay in the base at all and falls off when you go to pick the fan up. Honestly wish I had listened to the bad reviews and gotten a different fan.

I'm not one to write a review on my purchases. In all my adult years that I've made purchases where a "extended warranty" is offered I don't. But products made today break so fast! This fan did. Literally after 1 year and 2 months. Do better Lasko. I've been a loyal customer for many years. I am still gonna recommend you guys too. Hopefully my fan was just a dud. 🫶🏼
