Matter Compostable Sandwich Bags - 50ct

I really like the idea of using compostable bags. I'm always trying to use plastic containers, but they always get damaged in the process or my children lose the lids. I hate using plastic bags for everything, especially as I trying to teach my children to be more environmentally friendly. He's having a perfect size for this snack. They've been sturdy, don't open on their own, and the seala are strong.

These bags are so cool! I like the feel of them. They are sturdy and do a good job at doing what they need to do! I will probably lean toward buying this brand more often now that I have tried out this product.

I was a bit skeptical about these bags but wanted to try something new and I am really glad I did. These bags are extremely durable and are much stronger than other sandwich bags. The value is definitely there, and best part is that it is ecofriendly. You definitely want to give these bags a try.

I like that this brand is trying to help the environment with our plastic situation, however, I just don't like getting my food out of a bag that has compostable in large print on both sides and facts on it. It just hits me wrong for some reason. Also, I feel like the seal is not very strong. If you don't mind the words all over the bag though and you are not putting something inside that can leak, these bags would be great for you and you will be helping our environment.

I was so excited for these and they more than lived up to my hopes and expectations!! Very durable and quality product! And i feel SO much better and responsible using these in my daughter's school lunches! Very highly recommend these!

I'm a teacher, and I use sandwich and snack-size baggies all the time to store game pieces, partner and small group activities, and the like. Over the past few years, I have been working on finding alternative solutions to plastic for the storage of materials. When offered the opportunity to review these bags for Target, I thought I would try these out to see how durable they might be for a classroom setting. They are thick and strong and seal very well - if fact, maybe too well for a classroom setting, as it is a little difficult to pull apart the seal and may not hold up over time. (This is a great feature, though, for a sandwich or snacks!) The company indicates that they compost completely within 12 months, and that for best results, they should be used within 6 months, so I wonder what the condition of these bags might look like when I use them for an activity a year from now. So, for the teachers out there who are also thinking about making sustainable choices with storage needs, these might not be the best idea for a classroom setting if you're counting on long-term storage of little pieces. So back to food storage in my kitchen they go! I'm going to use them for sandwiches and snacks when I'm out and about on hiking and biking adventures. They are PFAS-free, BPA-free, gluten-free, and nut-free. I can feel better about using them with food and that they will eventually break down and not cause harm to our environment.

These bags are nice but very flimsy and hard to open. I like that they are compostable but with that comes the disadvantage of them not being very durable. I used them for our picnic lunch and put sandwiches in them but wouldn’t put anything like fruit or something as don’t know how durable they would be with that.

These bags are pretty sturdy and seal well. I love that they're compostable. The quality is nice and you can re-use them. The idea behind it and how they are made really are a game changer. Get rid of the old plastic ones that don't disintegrate!

I like that these bags are compostable. It has a very soft texture to the bag and zips up easily. It says to be gentle when opening but I didn't see any bags tear when my five and six year old opened them. I like that the bag is made out of plants and really takes the worry off of potential micro plastics in their snacks. I did have to smash up some crackers for a recipe and did find that the bag did puncture through quite a bit.

We have been using these a few weeks for sandwiches in school lunches and they work well. I like the thickness and they are easy to open and close. I sometimes use reuseable bags but I find that they are kind of bulky so I like that these are more like regular plastic bags for full lunch boxes. And, I feel better using them since they are compostable. I can't speak as to how well they compost but they are good sandwich bag alternative to plastic.

Similar to other zip top bags. Size is roomy and the zip top works well. Unfortunately, they are only compostable in a commercial facility and the only compost we use right now is a home unit. I wish they were biodegradable instead. While I try to use reusable plastic bags, these are a good option for messy items or things that you take on the go and don't want to hang onto the bag. I could also put them in the compost at a public place, which does use commercial composting.

Like that the sandwich bags are compostable and come with the ability to seal them closed. Not a fan of them having writing all over them that highlight the compostable qualities of the bags. Part of why I use bags is because they can be written on for storing things

These bags are perfect for lunches or quick snacks on-the-go. They are easy to open and are very durable. They are earth-friendly and free of harsh chemicals. I love that the bags are compostable to reduce waste and they are able to be washed and re-used 100 times before being disposed of. I am a huge supporter of this brand and will continue to support this company to further reduce waste.

These are great. I haven’t had issues with them tearing when opening but they do seal tightly so I’m just mindful of that when opening. They’re a good size. See my photo for sizing next to two types of cheese sticks: target brand pepper jack sticks and Cheese Head’s string cheese. Glad they’re good quality and compostable!

These bags are good for the environment, but my kids think they are a bit “weird” to use. They seem smaller than the usual sandwich/snack bags we buy. I would still purchase once in a while to feel like I’m making a difference.

These sandwich bags are same size and durability for comparable plastic bags. The seal offers satisfying "click" to know they are closed. And they can be written on with a marker. Just note that the box does state to use within 6 months. Keep plastic out of landfills!

I’ve never used compostable bags before and I was pleasantly surprised with the thickness and quality of these. It says easier to open so I can’t comment if it’s actually improved since this was my first time using them, but it was a strong hold and it said to gently open on the bag. Not sure if they tear easily? Super easy to close. I generally use reusable sandwich bags but these are nice for things like field trips where everything has to be disposable. On the box it says for best results to use within 6 months. Because they will start to break down? Box states they compost fully in 12 months. I doubt I will get through 50 bags in 6 months so I guess that is a bit of a downside.

These small bags are great for lunches fir my kids. I know they end up in the trash anyway, but at least these are compostable, even if they're in a landfill. My only complaint is that they're a little smaller than the comparable bags so some of the sandwich bread I buy doesnt fit great in them. But they're good sized for snacks.

I'm really impressed with these new compostable sandwich bags! They're incredibly durable, ideal for my kid's lunch and snack time. I love that they're eco-friendly and have a firm zip that prevents leaks. It's wonderful to feel positive about a product that's reducing plastic waste.
