Q: The new Pur filter was installed today. The water ran through the filter very quickly. So fast that I question that any filtration took place. The water tastes like tap water. Is the filter working?

Replaced the filter of our Pur pitcher after following theri instructions about two weeks ago. For over a week, filtered water had a weird taste. Now it tastes okay. However, it's been filtering the water really slowly. It takes over an hour to filter a single water refill.

But I’ve enjoyed it so far like that it came with an extra filter and the light tells you when it needs to be changed

So far, after a month of use, it seems this filter will last me longer than the last model I used to use, or the generic ones offered online. The taste is also improved. Specially for someone like me who is pregnant & sensitive to the way the water I drink taste like.
So easy, you can have the kids help.

The water goes through numerous filtering process that's why it's taking its time to come out and be able fill the pitcher. It makes the tap water tastes better and refreshing. Make sure you follow the instructions on how to prepare the filter step-by-step before putting it on the pitcher because if not, you will see see charcoal floting on your drinking water.
