Great iron, I had issues getting it to steam initially, due to the incorrect insertion of Thea it scale cartridge. It appeared to be snapped in ok, but eventually I figured out that it wasn’t. Very frustrating, all could have been alleviated if there were better instructions about the insertion of the cartridge. Also, not the best steam, my 1201S was better for steam.

I have loved the Reliable line of irons ever since I got my first one about 20 years ago. I make quilts as a hobby but I often spend 6-8 hours working in my sewing room and the iron is on the entire time. I previously had the model with the small water tank. I have upgraded to this one. My only issue is I wished I could set the time-out setting for longer than 10 minutes. It does heat up fairly quickly but who likes waiting. The heat and steam on demand functions are great along with the ability to use tap water because it has its own filter. I have 2 other models and I take all 3 of them to a quilt retreat I organize.

I am more than happy with this iron. It doesn't spit on the fabric. It heats up super fast. Can't ask for a better iron.

I have only owned this iron for just a few weeks, but I am very happy with the performance. It heats up quickly and has a good amount of steam when I need it...and no frequent refilling! Very satisfied so far.

Should let purchasers know that the rising steam may burn your hand.
Overall an excellent iron.

Really like this iron, it's a "keeper". Plenty of steam, heats quickly. Easy to fill land no too heavy to lift or move around as needed. Just wish it had a on/off button on the base. I would love it if I had a way to totally power off the iron and still leave it plugged in.

This iron was a bargain compared to other high-end irons. I bought it refurbished and it is very lightweight and “never” runs out of steam. I love it. I’ve never had a better iron.

Good iron. I would have given it 5 stars if it didn’t time out so frequently. I use it for pressing quilt tops and quilt backings. I love the large water reservoir and the various steam settings.

So far, so good! The ticking sound at the start was a bit alarming.

Bought it because my gravity iron stopped working. I read a lot of reviews before purchasing one. The thing that I like about this one- it’s mobile ( i moved it around a few times) , does it work, produce enough steam. My gravity one was permanently secured to the hook on ceiling and i was stuck to one place. I’m using it daily in my sewing room. The water container hold enough H2O. I’m only refilling it 1/4 ( not to waste water , as one has to damp it if not in use), and it last me for long time.So far i like it more then my gravity one.

The ONLY reason I give it only 4 stars vs. 5 is that I wish that it stayed on for longer than 10 minutes. I feel like every time I need to iron a seam it's been like 15-20 min. and I'm having to turn it on again. Aside from that I absolute LOVE every feature about this iron. One of the best irons I've purchased...and I've had "a few".

I love it, only thing that I would change is I have small hands and short fingers and find that to keep pressing on the steam trigger my hand gets tired very fast because I have to over reach on my hand and finger. I wonder if it was designed by a man with large hands . I iron yards of quilt backing.

This is the 1st Reliable Brand Iron I have owned. I am beyond happy with its performance. This iron has the features that I was looking for: 1. Heats up in under a minute. 2. Steam function is great for pressing wrinkles out. 3. Large 1.5L tank, this is my favourite feature. I would have to fill my old Iron, maybe 5-6 times when pressing a quilt top, not so with the Maven 140IS. Ironing is now more enjoyable, I will be using my Maven 140IS daily for Quilting and Sewing projects. Feeling Happy!!
