Q: The last one I bought of an Up and Up pitcher does not have an opening in the lid and I have to take the whole lid off to fill it. Does this one have an opening in the lid?

submitted by cybercat3 - 3 years ago
  • A: You do have to remove the black lid to be able to refill this pitcher.

    submitted byJenni M - 3 years ago
  • A: Hi, cybercat3 - we apologize...it looks like the product description got mixed up between the 10 cup and 7 cup sizes. The 10 cup has a removable lid for refilling; the 7 cup has a flip-top lid for refilling. We'll be sure that the description is updated, and we apologize for the confusion.

Q: Does the electronic filter indicator turn green? Mine flashes 3 or 4 or more times and not just 2 but I'm using up a Brita filter first before I put the Up and Up one in.

submitted by cybercat3 - 4 years ago
  • A: Hi, Cybercat3. To set the electronic filter change indicator, after you change the filter, you press and hold the button on the filter change indicator until it flashes a few times. You then release the button, and the filter change indicator should display a triangle made up of 4 bars. The filter type doesn't change how the filter change indicator functions. If this isn't how yours is working, please do post another note, and we'll be sure to get you a new one. Thank you!

In the past 20 yrs I've bought 3 Brita pitchers and ALL of the replacement Filters were a problem. Brita filters persistently leak excessive black dust and dirt particles. This Up n Up pitcher is exceptional, the filters are 90% cleaner and reliable than Brita. Not to mention the price is substantially less. I like everything about the Up n Up water filtration system!

I had no issues with the construction on the product seemed to hold together fine. I purposely bought a filter for my plants to be honest because filtered water is typically better. Something about this creates mold almost instantly on my plants that I water. Plants watered with my tap are bright & happy. Actually, this water killed my umbrella tree. I don’t know the technicalities, but if it isn’t good for my plants I am not drinking it either. So weird.

A little flimsier than a brita, but did the same job as Brita filter in improving the taste. The pitcher just feels like it’s made of a cheaper plastic, but it does look very clean and modern with the clear and black and looked great with the rest of my black appliances.

I love it. The water is crystal clear and tastes pretty good. I always add lemon to my water anyway. It holds a good amount so I don't have to constantly refill it. I've had no problems with the lid.

    Intense allergic reaction to filter

Thumbs down graphic, would not recommend
    AzureFlora - 2 years ago
I'm honestly surprised and bummed out about the low quality of these filters. I've used a range of water filters for years now going from basic Brita to the ones that actually reduce more complicated stuff in the water. Even though I wash it every week, I got tired of the buildup in my life straw water picture so I decided to go back to Brita and pick this one up because the reviews were good and it's currently on sale for half price. Well after running water through the filter at least five times and then trying to drink it I had a very dramatic allergic reaction to it. I don't mean small. I mean throat hurting entire face flushing hot lasting for several minutes type of reaction, which I have never had before. I looked in the questions and they said that the carbon filter is made out of carbon and then an ion resin, they never say the source of the carbon just that it's gluten free and soy free. I suspect that they are using a corn based charcoal and that is the cause of the problem, and possibly also treating it with some kind of heavy chemical. I tossed out the filters for my life straw pitcher this morning, so I'll just have to boil water until I can return this and find something else. Bummed!

Hi AzureFlora - Our filters are meant to filter only potable water. The up&up filters only contain activated carbon and ion exchange resin, both of which are used to extricate chlorine taste & odor as well as filter out harmful chemicals & heavy metals. In addition, they are certified by the Water Quality Association to the highest water filtration standards and contain only food-safe materials. It is impossible for our filters to add anything to the water to cause harm, rather they will filter out particulates that may be harmful. If you are concerned about your water source, we highly recommend you do pay to get the water tested. We are very concerned by your review as it contains defamatory & false information about the safety of our products. We welcome you to reach out directly to us to discuss further at support@water-filtration.net.

This pitcher is not designed well. The top is so tight you have to pound it in to seal it and prevent leaks. Then when you try to lift the lid to fill it, the whole top comes out. The little cover for the spout broke in the first week. I've had this for a few months and already plant to replace it with a better model. Don't waste your $.

This pitcher is easy to pour and holds a decent amount of water so I am not constantly refilling it. It's attractive, a good value, and the fact that I cant use my extra Brita filters is a bonus.

I was super happy when I found this. My mom got the 35 cup one and she loved it, and I was sad that there wasn’t a pitcher. However, when I saw this (and it was on sale, bonus!) I immediately picked it up. Great quality as all up and up products are, and it came with to filters as well. Great price and the size is much bigger than my old Britta so I don’t have to fill it as much. Excellent product and am super happy with it!!

I needed to replace my Brita pitcher and so glad I found this. It holds more water than my old pitcher so I don’t need to keep refilling several times a day. I also had some unopened Brita filters so I was happy they were compatible with this pitcher. The water filters fast and tastes great. This pitcher is a little taller than my last one so be sure to measure your space.
