Toddleroo by North States Woodcraft Steel Auto Close Gate

We've been pleased with other Toodleroo purchases and bought several sets of their baby corrals, but this gate just won't work for us. No matter how we adjust it, it won't remain safely in the doorway. Our two year old granddaughter is quick, strong and determined; we're concerned she could be injured while trying to pull it out. Our old Toddleroo babygate was fine for other little ones, but this one would try to climb over it. We hoped that since it has vertical bars she could not climb it, and didn't think that she'd be able to take it down.

This baby gate is very aesthetic and does the job. The lock is also baby proof so it keeps my baby safe. Currently have one installed but just bought a second one for my home.

I didn’t even get to finish installing the gate as the door literally broke/fell off as I was installing it at the top of my stairs. Thank god it happened when installing and not an incident with my child once it had been installed. Extremely disappointed.

We bought this gate after buying the expensive retractable gates that ripped out of the wall in less than a week. This pressure mounted gate is FANTASTIC. So easy to install and very sturdy. If only we had ordered these first and saved ourselves $200.

Used for a short time and the door broke off the hinge.

I read all the reviews and product details. This rail only works if you using it in a door frame where there isn’t any show rail molding on your floors. If you have this molding the rail won’t sit flush with the wall and doesn’t work. Very disappointed to put this thing together and it wouldn’t work in the space I wanted to use it

We bought this gate and took the extender out because we didn’t need it and the gate broke. I wouldn’t recommend

This works well to keep our daughter out of the kitchen. It is strong and easy to open.

Great quality. Using for blocking off stairs for our dog post-surgery. Love the way to open both ways, fit different size openings, and also leave open when allowed.

Just installed this so can't say much about durability, but feels solid and looks good. When pulled it out of the box it looked and was, so out of square that the part of the latch on the gate was about 2 inches from the part of the latch on the frame. I was about to shove it back in the box to return it. Then my wife read several reviews, one mentioned that as you torque the tension screws it will bring the latch together. Instructions don't say anything about that. So we gave it a try and it works well.

An absolute godsend for kid parents! Or even dog parents! It is easy to install and easy to open and shut. No more days of hassling with a baby gate to do the laundry!

Sturdiest gate in our house! It took me a minute figure out how to install this gate (instructions are easy, but not intuitive), but I am very pleased with the result! It keeps our wild toddler contained, but is easy to open so older children and adults have no problem open and closing the gate. I love that it is adjustable so it fits many spaces in our home, including our stair way that requires a gate to be wider at the top than at the bottom.

This is a very nice well made gate .. easy to install .. took all of 3 min .. priced a little high but with the nice quality worth it . But to keep puppy in it is too nice .. I bought because I needed a gate ASAP and could get in 2 hour pick up local store .. only one they had ..

I use it to keep the kids out of the kitchen while i cook or when i mop the floors. I also use it at night time to keep my dog in one room because she tends to bark at any and everything. What a lifesaver. It takes some patience to install but it is not difficult. Very well engineered and quite clever. Sticky tape is strong and not forgiving, so be sure of it’s placement. In the end it was easier to drill a quick pilot hole and then put the screw in to hold the bracket. It feels very secure, and going in and out of the gate is super easy.

Very nice gate, looks like wood but is really steel, so no chance of splinters. I have not had a chance to put up as of yet because we are remodeling.

I love this gate. I have quite a few baby gates in my house (thanks to toddlers and multiple floors) and this brand has been my favorite so far. It was super easy to install. It took me about 30 minutes as it was my first time doing it, but it was very easy. It is a great height for my toddlers room, we will be moving him to a toddler bed soon and I want him used to a gate. It is easy enough to open for an adult and you can lock the bottom so it only swings one way or so it can’t be opened at all. Great product.

This gate was an entire pain in the rear to install. I have owned a few NorthState products and this is by far my least favorite. We had initially planned to install it in a different place in the house so we had to remove the left and right plug things in order to extend the gate with the extra pieces it came with, that was a whole task in itself. They didn’t want to come out and it took a solid ten minutes of prying to get them all out. After we had it set up and ready to install, we realized we were like an inch too short so we had to find a different place to put it. Which then required us to remove all the extra pieces and replace the original plugs we fought to remove. Now, the gate requires equal pressure on top and bottom on both sides in order for the gate to work properly. For some reason, our gate only connects correctly at the bottom and not the top. It does “click” but it isn’t a concrete click, it has a lot of play in it still. The overall look of the gate is beautiful, we’re remodeling and it happened to match my new laminate perfectly. Even with the difficulties we had while installing it, it is still a nice gate.

Solid gate with nice construction. It is a metal gate with printed wood grain on it. We did have some trouble installing it due to our floor trim but we figured out a worm around. Overall gate works well for our needs!
