The Back to the Roots Organic Succulents and Cacti Mix Specialty Blend is specially formulated for your drought-resistant plants. In addition to organic all-purpose plant food, this specialty blend contains perlite and horticultural sand to support fast drainage, dolomitic limestone to help adjust pH, and aged bark to help with soil structure. Like all Back to the Roots garden products, this potting soil is peat-free, so it doesn't contribute to harmful greenhouse emissions like some other brands. It contains peat moss, sand, plant good, perlite, aged bark and limestone. I’m really excited now because my succulents needed these nutrition to thrive.

I go through soil frequently but this is my favorite brand. I love how the succulent mix doesn’t hold too much water that leads to root rot.

I was thrilled when Influenster sent me a bag because I was almost out of the current bag. As you can see, I have 3 types of cactus: Christmas, Thanksgiving and Easter. I give Back To The Roots credit for how well my trio is thriving. All 3 cactus have blooms on them right now and bloom 2-3 times per year. I have also seen obvious growth on the 3 cactus since using this mix. I add this succulent mix to the top of my cactus whenever I feel that more soil is needed. Thank you Influenster and Back To The Roots for this opportunity!

i normally use fox farm brand. tried this for aloe because it is a succulent. died. i thought i did something wrong. used the soil for spider plant (which is really hard to kill) and within a week it is dying. i’ve potted dozens of spider plant and never had this happen. will never use this soil again

While spider plants do not mind a cacti & succulent soil, it is not an ideal choice since spider plants prefer a slightly more moisture-retentive soil, and a cactus mix can dry out too quickly, potentially requiring more frequent watering. Really disappointed. The soil is covered in mold just a few days after opening, and now I have gnats everywhere. I've spent dozens on gnat traps and spray now and have a nearly full bag of moldy (how did it mold???) Soil that is useless.

The Organic succulents and cacti mix is a good size bag of organic soil for my succulent and cacti arrangement I received from a friend recently. I had to repot the arrangement as the florist didn’t have the succulents and cacti in the arrangement properly. I like that the soil is organic as I like to be as organic with my food and plants as much as possible. A good value for an organic soil.

I received product reimbursement in exchange for my honest review. This soil mix worked well for me. I had a nursery tell me that I can grow almost any of my house plants in a mixture of this succulent cacti mix, it drains fast and it holds water very well. The secret is don't water it very much. Like not more than once every 7 to 10 days. If you water it any more than that, I do find that it grows fungus quicker which leads to gnats. I mixed this with a little bit of potting mix, and so far my plants love me.

Had high hopes for this, but after repotting a few large aloe plants, I now have a MASSIVE fungus gnat infestation that has spread to all of my house plants. To make matters worse, this soil holds water like a sponge and my previously thriving plants now look awful. What a disaster.

I received product reimbursement in exchange for my honest review. My succulents love this special soil. They had outgrown their pots, and I needed to repot them. They are doing so well now. The bag is easy to open, and it has instructions on it to show how many pots it can fill. I like that it's organic also. Plus it's made in the USA. Great product!
